I vlogged the last day of work before my Christmas holiday. This vlog was supposed to go up on December 19th, but as you might have read from my post on the Community tab, my plans were totally thrown off by a horrid stomach flu! Hope you still enjoy this little look at my life right before Christmas. :)

I am so very sorry you got ill after having a wonderful day. Your day sounded heavenly. I envy you the way you seem to enjoy living alone. You sound such a happy , contented person. Your life looks perfect to me - apart from that horrible bug-. My husband died 18 months ago after 58 years together. I still miss him terribly. I wish I had your life. Just love your blog. I always trim candle wicks down to 1/8 to 1/4 inch. It helps the candle burn evenly, last longer, and reduces black smoke. Your vlog is just lovely. 💖

I am the same way other than a cup of coffee if I do not force my self to eat breakfast then it can be end of day before I stop to eat anything. Its a bad habit. But when workdays are hectic starting my work day seems more important because of work expectations. You got a beautiful gift for your sister. Its the way it ought to be. I have no siblings and sadly my husbands family buys cheap gifts ( they are all wealthy as a side note) And I feel like its a chore they just do so we opted out of that whole family gift exchange thing. After 20 years of getting junk we end up throwing away ( even the poor would not want it- Sound of music quote by Maria) I feel much happier giving because we want to its a blessing that way and it is meaningful because it comes from the heart and what people want or need or ask for.
Yeah gift giving can be such a headache! I’m lucky that I just have a few people to buy for, all people I know very well. With most of my friends we’ve agreed not to but anything, just time spent together is enough. I think as adults it’s better to just not buy anything rather than cause everyone stress!

Yes I learned in Finland about the power of blueberries. I do occasionally get cold sores, one Christmas I was in rural Finland and started to get a cold sore someone pulled out a bag of dried blueberries and told me to eat a handful, the cold sore disappeared and now blueberries are my go to medicine.

I always take off extra time at the holidays too. It’s nice to be able to relax and enjoy the holiday season a bit more. Since finding your videos, watching them has been a way of relaxing for me. I love seeing more of your life in Helsinki and especially like seeing how you make small things like making tea look cozy and inviting. Your question of the day was a tough one, but I would choose Edinburgh as well. Hope you’re feeling better and had a lovely Christmas!

1st time watcher - just came across your account today. Loved the look of the facial business; the tea cups were just gorgeous w/the snowflake plate (& how nice that they had chocolate out). Your city looks beautiful! Very European. I love it. Like Prague, it is so quaint and full of history. The cobblestone walkways & roads are beautiful too. This is the 3rd video I watched with my daughter and here are her comments 😀 She really likes “Lumiere” your candleholder and she qiestioned why is the face vase had a plant hair on it 😂 She also loves cereals and told me that other people also think cereal is quick and easy to eat. She said get well soon on the stomach flu we both had it 2 winters ago and it was awful! ❤️

About the question of the day: If I could, I pretty much move to any City in Europe if I could only leave the US for good. I am German but reside here for 20 years.

I love cities and travel. Helsinki looks lovely. I like ports and cranes and a diverse mixed population city. I am lucky to live in London. I would like to spend more time in Berlin. But I rarely dislike cities they all have something. Pollution in some is the thing I find tricky.

Back to working from home - I went into the office for the first time in 5 months, then got an email in the afternoon from HR to return to work by working from home! Ginger is really good for stomach issues btw. You must try the mulled wine tea from T2 - that's as Christmassy as it gets :)
