Good video, glad the panel popped out too. Our issue is when you open with the outside handle, the metal rod inside falls out of the little hole in the mechanism at the handle. EDIT: the little plastic insert for the door handle mechanism had fallen off, we found it, reassembled and it works! Thanks again!
My issue is the black part in the door isn’t moving at all when I used the outside handle. The inside handle it jiggles a little. I had to push it open so I could close the door properly. Is that a similar issue? It’s hard to tell in the video, but I might pop open the door anyways
@@maezimain it’s hard to say, I’ve only ever worked on one of these so I’m definitely no expert. Another viewer commented that their clip inside had fallen off so the outside door handle wasn’t even engaging. They found the clip and put it back on, that fixed their problem. You might have a similar issue, make sure the clip is on there, if not, it might’ve fallen into the door cavity.
Hello Alberti! I have a 2017 Chevy Spark with a similar problem, no hit n run though, the door just doesn’t open from the outside , with the IEP or with the remotes. When I let the window down, when it reached a certain point, the door opened by itself 😳
You should probably pull the door panel off to see if the window snagged something in there, pulling the latch into the open position. It's possible something got loose in there at some point, which is why it wouldn't open from the outside, but would open when the window snagged it. I'm just guessing here, but since these mechanisms are purely mechanical in most cases, that's the only sensible thing I can think of.
I tried this with an automatic. The panel will not pop off! Its like it's glued! Any advice? I really don't want to go to a dealership. Also, it the master control switch able to come off once you take the panel off?
They are rarely glued. It's very possible that you have a hidden screw somewhere that you cannot see. The same happened to my Chevy Silverado, there was a screw hidden behind the master control switch. When I pulled the switch out, I found the screw behind it. So maybe your switch needs to come out first, then you'll be able to slide the door upward. These door panels are usually held up with clips, gravity is the only thing holding them down. So if you find the missing screw, you can pull up and out.

@@SAABguyMD glad the video was helpful for you, and I’m also glad it didn’t require an expensive fix from the dealership. Win-win!
