Sacrificing a Lake Superior Agate to the saw gods #2:
In this video, I will take you with me on my thoughtprocess of how I cut another Lake Superior Agate. I made a voting on instagram and 97% of my followers wanted to see the agate cut- so I had to cut the rough stone!
Cutting agates is not as easy as it may seem, a lot of thought goes into it, and sometimes difficult decisions need to be made. I explain how to place a cut to avoid windows in the husk of an agate and many more details that are helpful to know, if you want to cut agates.
Agates are truly amazing pieces of art, made by mother nature, but there is only one way to reveal their beauty: Cutting the agate.
I hope you enjoy this video.

That turned out really nice! Here in the land of Lake Superior agates I usually leave them rough other than giving them a mineral oil treatment if they already look really beautiful. I think you brought out the best in that one.
What's funny is I'm in Laker country and rarely cut a large one.
This is because everyone I learned from and vendors at shows always said they are worth more uncut.
But now I see you've taken a $150-200 rough Laker, cut it, and I would say doubled you money.
I might need to rethink things 🤔
You got my attention when you said Cutting Laker.😅
Hahaha, me too! I watch his vids all the time and love every one. When i saw LSA I really zoomed in and suddenly became a professional gemologist/lapidary. Like, "Mhm, let's see how he handles this and i can tell him what he did wrong after." Lol
Book matched slivers Would make beautiful butterfly wings ❤
