    its important to understand that remakes can be a good way for companies to see if something has still value. In this case Mario RPG's have been declining since Sticker Star. So this could be a new beginning for Mario RPG's with Mario + Rabbids and (hopefully) a series that has the style of this game

    Luigi if they add him would probebly have a moveset inspired by Luigi's Mansion. That is a thing many games do if the devs want Mario and Luigi to be different from eachother

    There's a thing with Culex... The Japanese version. Culex is kind of a joke where he is the supreme being from the 2D dimension as the prerendered characters are considered "3D" and that's kind of the joke that he's not powerful enough because he's flat. More or less... Now I don't know how they'll handle that... If they're going to make it as it is in the Japanese version and make him a flat texture or change him or go with the English script

    • @brendansrambles9464
      @brendansrambles9464  Год назад +2

      That's actually really interesting. Never knew that. If they do keep Culex, I wonder if that means he'll be a 16 bit sprite, a 2D piece of artwork, or just a 3D model.

    I haven't played much of Super Mario RPG because RPGs are usually 1,000-plus hour-long but what I have played of it I really enjoyed I'm excited as heck for the remake. all I played was what half an hour of the game I haven't played much RPGs and the only RPGs I played in my life so far is like I said Mario RPG and what I think it's called Breath of Fire 1 and 2 I played like 2 seconds of Chrono Trigger and immediately got lost I have not completed any of those games. I have not even played any Final Fantasy game not even the remakes so yeah I really believe you when you say Mario RPG is a outstanding game I don't get why people say this game is too short even though it's 50 hours long or something I can't wait to play this remake no I'm serious I can't. also I cannot wait for my man fat Yoshi to return in the remake and also Bowser and booster kissing Mario that is going to be golden

      It's like 30 hours long, or even less if you know what to do, for RPG standards it's pretty short, which is a shame because I love this game so much, and I have replayed it multiple times through the years.

    • @kennymichaelalanya7134

      This game is fast paced since you don't have to grind to beat it. I wouldn't say 50 hours . More like 30hrs

    Remember playing the SNES version back in the 90s. It was a rental from a grocery store (imagine that still being a thing) so I had like five days tops before having to give it up, but I have fond memories of playing it, and I regret that the 64 immediately abolished popular memory of it and the SNES in general. Absolutely glad this is a second chance and I'll pre-order shortly.

    Dude I'm so stoked for this game. It's easily a top 5 RPG of all time for me. It was one of the first RPG's to resonate with me as a kid and playing it as an adult I got to appreciate how charming it is and it was still just as fun even though it is as simple as an RPG can be. Hopefully now that they have these assets and engine they might do something else with them.

    Listen - some of the attacks and when your supposed to press the button are so detached from when it looks like and sounds like your supposed to press the button that you might as well be randomly pressing it to see when you should be pressing it - even if it only appears once, letting there be a visual indication for these that you *know* is *the* indiction is a good thing
    This being said it appearing until you roughly know what you are doing is probably also a good thing

    • @brendansrambles9464
      @brendansrambles9464  Год назад +1

      That's a fair point, for sure. I can completely see what you mean. But I do feel some harder moves, like Jynxed or magnum, the player isn't necessarily supposed to know it can be blocked. Finding out you can - and the perfect time to do so - makes, what are meant to be devastating moves, really easy to turn into 0 damage moves (magnum being instant death normally). My main issue is just that SMRPG was already too easy, and I'd prefer Nintendo not spoil some of the few things that added difficulty.
      I'd honestly be OK with them changing it so that perfectly timed blocks only halve damage, or something along those lines, because, when you learn the block times in SMRPG normally, the only attacks that actually deal damage anymore are magic attacks, and even then, there's the safety ring, and so many accessories that protect against status effects. I'd prefer if they upped the challenge and made more of a need to heal and feel threatened by enemies.

    • @pacattack2586
      @pacattack2586 Год назад

      @@brendansrambles9464 I would argue the difficulty should not be bs on not knowing how the game works - Imagine if the game just didn't have button mapping at all and you had to guess how to actually play the game!
      Difficulty by obscurity is a bad thing. Making the game difficult for OTHER reasons other than just making you have to play 'guess the button' is better than 'guess the button' difficulty. (see also 'pick a pipe/door/path') It's not difficult - it's annoying because once you do know this (and it can be looked up) there's no point in hiding it

    Everyone is entitled to their own opinion whether people disagree or not. Here is mine. I am a huge fan of Super Mario RPG and I believe it was necessary for a remake to capture the old and new fans. Especially since the Switch is nearing its end and moving on to the next big Nintendo console. I always said that this game is a treasure between Square and Nintendo that has been locked away for over 20 years and a sequel with Mario Odyssey graphics would be insane for both companies and the fans. When Paper Mario was announced for the N64 I always thought it would have been better to release a sequel for Mario RPG despite the success. Yoko Shimomura to make music for the sequel, bring Mario’s gang back for it including Bowser and new ones, cameos from other Square games, and continue with turn base. This would be Mario’s pinnacle RPG game. Again, my strong opinion. Who knows…maybe this is there plan with the remake of Super Mario RPG. Will see what the sales are on this.

    I feel reMAKES when done correctly, like recent Resident Evils, we benefit more from them. The experience is different, we get a better bang for our buck, etc. Ports and reMASTERS feel like the company is just being greedy and lazy and spitting in your face to top it off when re-releasing those. Even when it's $10-20 off. That's just my opinion. Remakes > Ports and/or remasters.

    If they leave the ! that appears, the game is going to be a joke in difficulty, but they should make it so you can enable it or disable it or make it so it appears if you put it in easy just saying. I know there was no difficulty selector, but at least make it so you can turn it off.

    remakes is because so much crap is released now the stuff that was super good (if they stick to the story and keep 100% true to the original) is far better than stuff now. mario rpg is a game that 20 years later i still remember playing it as a small kid and was sad when i beat it because of how good it was. (kotor 1 being another, dude that story at 13 was like being dumped and kicked in the balls the same day. it was good to where you remember it the rest of your life)

    The problem is Nintendo is no longer selling us ports for these old games and not everyone wants a subscription service where half these games are missing anyway.

    • @brendansrambles9464
      @brendansrambles9464  11 месяцев назад

      The subscription service idea is very flawed, especially since, whenever the Switch's online functionality comes to an end, we'll essentially lose all of those past games. I would have rather had them just go the virtual console route again.
