One thing I really respect about Kapustin is that he was a huge advocate of his own work. His absolute success at that is one of the reasons his music has survived.
@@ninjaassassin27 trevorguy is correct, they are all studio recordings. Kapustin said in an interview in 2000: "I don’t like to play on stage, but I do like to record". He also said in the same interview; "But to be famous isn’t important. I don’t want to become famous." Despite that, to an extent you are right that he did advocate for his own work; "I make improvisations better than Bruckner!" But to say that in his lifetime he has 'absolute success' is absolutely not true. He was unknown in Russia his whole life; "Even if he is only now becoming known over here, does the music have something of a reputation in Russia? Kapustin shakes his head: ‘Nobody knows it."
Movement 2 evokes all the military motifs of Prokofiev's late sonatas mixed with a pinch of late Scriabinesque atonality. Kapustin wasn't a great pianist (well, not Hamelin-level great anyway) but in the hands of a more apt player, this movement would be 🔥🔥🔥

Whenever I hear these I wish the accents were punchier. Could be slowed down *barely* to make those come out. A lot of those are what make the idiom, not just the harmony.

added many of 2 and 6th notes from major chord. and put on some approch(leading tone-like) note stuffs there.

The right hand chords are added with 2/6 extensions so it's very lush and it's in closed position. Left hand has a gallop bass.
