  • Hi guys did the video on the fly so only looked at it for 10 mins so a few errors thou I have edited it to make the video shorter.
FreeMind is a premier free mind-mapping software written in Java. The recent development has hopefully turned it into high productivity tool. We are proud that the operation and navigation of FreeMind is faster than that of MindManager because of one-click "fold / unfold" and "follow link" operations.
So you want to write a completely new metaphysics? Why don't you use FreeMind? You have a tool at hand that remarkably resembles the tray slips of Robert Pirsig, described in his sequel to Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance called Lila. Do you want to refactor your essays in a similar way you would refactor software? Or do you want to keep personal knowledge base, which is easy to manage? Why don't you try FreeMind? Do you want to prioritize, know where you are, where you've been and where you are heading, as Stephen Covey would advise you? Have you tried FreeMind to keep track of all the things that are needed for that?

I used this software yrs ago. Since I started working on Linux i had some Issues getting it to run and so i abandoned it to explore other options. Today I got Freemind to work properly on Linux and decided it is still my altime favorite. It looks a bit old compared to other/online tools, but it offers so many great features, i just had to have it again.

How to install it on the Mac? Apple doesn't recognize sourceforge. Anyone facing the same issue?

Thanks for that. Terrific presentation! -Question: I wanted to import an existing Freemind file to see what can be done. There are plenty of examples under Sourceforge. However I either get nothing downloaded or HTML. Any tips on this?

Why open source software isn’t as ethical as you think it is: Open source communities are exclusionary. According to a recent survey by GitHub, 95% of open source contributors are male. 3% identified as female, and 1% as non-binary. (This is actually double the number from a few years ago.) Meanwhile, 16% identified as being from a minority background. There are lots of compounding reasons for this: for example, only certain kinds of people can afford to volunteer their time for software projects. Why you use open source? Often companies have gender and minority policies and implement positive discrimination that is not possible with open source software.
OPEN SOURCE: a person from an underrepresented background building software and giving it away for free to a Fortune 500 company (THIS IS NOT RADICAL). What is radical? Them getting fucking paid.

How in the world do you manage to transform "Hey here is some great software and you can use it for free" in to "Exclusionary" and "Radical"????
The thing is, it is the ones that get to use it for free, no matter their gender ID, religious belief or financial status, that makes this beautiful. And if your nr's are correct it is about high time that the ones in struggle with their gender issues and their fans stop making a fuss and try so hard to get offended and use that liberated time to "how can I contribute in to making this world a better place", then maybe the open source community would have more contributors within this layer. Nobody in the open source community will judge upon gender ID! It is the open source that puts valuable software out there for free so even the less fortunate can have access to it. It is not the community that is exclusive.
If you want to feel Included, then stop acting like an excluded
