    Great video!! The good thing is now youve added shock sensors is you can walk around the home at night and still having the perimiter armed i did this on my house except all my detectors are wired. But thats the beauty of wireless these days you can add them at a later date without any fuss.

    Great video these texecom systems have had very positive reviews. Its all great a home being covered in pir motion sensors but the intruder has entered the home for them to be activated. Shock sensors on doors and windows are even better as the alarm is going off before the intruder has entered the premises. If a trip switch or shock sensor fails then yes you have your pir sensors as a back up. Texecom also do wireless pir sensors which is also great so you can add more upstairs or in your garage and theres no wires to be fed into the loft etc or for people that want pir sensors but dont want to have their floor boards and carpets lifted up.

    Great video. One thing worth noting, to meet grade 2 requirements, the sensors must be mounted with screws, not sticky pads.

    • @DIYJourney1
      @DIYJourney1  3 года назад +2

      Your absolutely right and worth noting for others.
      For me, I don’t want to be screwing in to my upvc windows, and don’t have a need to meet the grading.

      @@DIYJourney1 I will be doing the same when I install a Texecom system in my rented flat. I've been working as an alarms engineer for eleven years, recently started working with more Texecom gear. Your videos have been helpful. Thanks!

    Useful - thanks. I'm thinking about 2 of these for my newly installed roller doors on the garage in addition to an existing single PIR. I can't find an answer anywhere to what I thought would be a common question.
    I have full set, night set, plus garage only and another which we'll call "pet set". If I add these, are they added to all "part sets"/partitions (which is what I want) or do they need adding to each partition? I've always left this to the installers but it seems a bit OTT paying for a callout just to add these.

      Yes absolutely, I wouldn’t of put them there otherwise 👍🏻

    Have you had any issues with the batteries in these sensors? How long do the batteries last before needing to be replaced?

      Thanks for your reply. From your experience, how long do the batteries last before needing replacement? Is 2 years a realistic expectation?

      Yes we have altered. The texecom handbook/app is great for explaining how to make alterations.
      The hik cameras cant comment as for 6 years and various setups, Iv not had many issues I cant resolve by google or youtube.
