I live next to a cellist and I sometimes wake up to Bach on weekend mornings and come home to meditation and Piazzolla after work. The neighbor puts on their mute when they want to practice late at night, I’ve been wanting to tell them that they don’t have to bc I’m quite a night owl and no one in the building can possibly beat my extremely late sleep schedule, but they seemed to be either super shy or embarrassed, whenever they heard me open my door and there was a risk of us finally meeting in the hallway they closed their door quickly…. I personally love the sound of people practicing. Even with the repetition, even when is just scales over and over again. Even the beginner violinists, we have a bunch in the school l teach, l keep chearing in silence for them to get it right. It's fun.
You must be able to tune out the painful parts :D

I feel like that too! Cause i feel like, i'm special. Cause i'm somehow allowed to see the process and part of the pain behind the perfectly made piece that someday people will hear. It's like sharing something intimate.
when i hear kids practising (like just random kids when I walk by their house/apartment), they're always good. Like, maybe they're not playing advanced repretoire, but it sounds nice.
But when I practised when I was little, it was always super awful. And I often get bored and just bang on the keys or just move my fingers randomly (piano). I never ever hear anyone else do that.

Actually, Brett’s lofi is a good fit as waiting music for a horror-themed wedding. Meanwhile his film score can accompany the entourage’s entrance and the bride enters with The Undertaker’s (yep the wrestler) theme song with the all the lights and signature moves 😂
My wife is a pianist and walked down the aisle to the beautiful lyrical variation from Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini.
I love that piece! My husband played at our wedding. (Fortunately, not during the ceremony, just at the reception.)

My lil brother used to practice Chopin's Ballade in G Minor for a year. Never been bored of it. Never bothered me. It has become a background sound after some time, but it never annoyed me to focus to the piece from time to time. Like the gentleman neighbor said, it is a good sheet.
Lol I started learning that in tenth grade and then took it back out years later, and my little brother came up to me and said PLAY SOMETHING ELSE! YOU’VE BEEN PLAYING THAT FOR YEARS!

Hey guys...I'm from Czech Republic, homeland od Dvořák, and the 2nd part of the New world symphony is actually mostly used during funeral ceremonies....so probably not so good for weddings 😂
I personally think the fourth movement would be terrific for a wedding--but I'm biased. That symphony is my very favorite to both play and listen to.

I walked down the aisle to "Appalachian Spring" because it was a mutual favorite of Dad and me. The hubs didn't have an opinion so we went with a Daddy daughter piece.

At 1:03, in case anyone is interested and unfamiliar, Eddy meant to say "Mambo!" It's from a musical so the musicians in the pit yelling along with the actors just adds more depth to the scene. It's funny af when you're just playing Bernstein for a concert, though 😂😂 the most awkward shit having to yell that out of nowhere hahaha. You usually only get an unenthused mumble from most orchestras lol. It's a really fun movement, though. I think 'Cha Cha' is really pretty, too. Y'all should listen to West Side Story orchestral/wind band whenever you have free time.
