I have DJI mini 2 and seeing how this flies for the price and what you can do is pretty cool, this drone seems very good for beginners and the price point is very good too
Thank you for the video,I looked at one today but wanted to check it out on RUclips before I bought it,your video was Great,You showed me Everything I wanted to know about the quad, unboxing, setup, programming, its just what I was looking for,the end videos were Great, really showed what it can do,thanks again!!!
Great informative video! Of course we all want to rip it out of the box and fly...I did that myself! After watching this and calibration sequence its flying like a champ. Remember to keep on a flat surface when putting your battery in. Happy flying!
This is my first quadcopter drone and I love it. It is the first vertical flying machine I have that has a camera. Only 1 crash that resulted in a broken part and that was a propeller and a prop guard.
rx344 Hi I need help with the app! The app says connect to the WiFi. So I connect to the WiFi. But I get nothing. So can you please respond to this and Help a dude out. Ight Peace
For those flying this in Canada, there are new regulations coming out June 1st 2019. Those regulations apply to drones weighing 250 grams or more. The Journey weighs about 150 grams with the battery so it’s all good!
Great review and excellent video footage just purchased me one after buying my son one saw how much fun these drones are love the recording aspects of it.
I bought this got ready to fly it. Turned it on inside my van went outside and was a great little drone. Sent it home and landed it right on top my van first try! (Dont turn on till outside :) )
Thanks for your efforts much appreciated just got this one and was great to see it in action great flying your really impressive , what do you think the range and flight time is? Thanks again.
Would you recommend using the protector things for the propellers for a first time flyer? How do you put them on? Do they clip in under the drone or on top right underneath the propellers?
All of your drone reviews are excellent! Thank you!! I purchased the Journey recently, as my entry-level copter, and am loving it. The manual is probably my least favorite part of the experience. Perhaps you can help. I am really wanting to program waypoints, and have downloaded the map. I can set the waypoints, and even send the mission data. However, the apps says to “ARM” the drone, but doesn’t tell me how to do that. Can you please provide step by step instructions to, say, fly a simple waypoint route and return to home? Also, can I set a different altitude for each waypoint? Thank you for any help!
Thank you. When it mentions Arm’ing the motors, it basically means starting them in idle (just spinning, but not flying or moving from the ground). At that point, you can submit the waypoints. To arm the motors, try moving both controller sticks down-and-out and hold it there for a few seconds or try moving them down-and-in...one of these positions should arm the motors and start them in idle. Once spinning, you can next submit your programmed waypoints and it should take-off and fly them...
rx344, neither of those methods worked. I’m sure it’s operator error. But it would be a nice touch if SkyViper provides those instructions, as this is one of the main touted features. I’ll keep trying...thanks!
rx344, this might be asking a lot, but would it be possible to do a follow-up video demonstrating exactly how to set up waypoints, arm the SkyViper drone, send the mission data, and then fly the pattern? That would be SO helpful...thank you in advance for your help! Also, is it possible to set altitudes for each waypoint? I would love to fly a low pattern around a pond, but then increase altitude to fly over my trees at the end of my back yard, and then descend and land. Thanks again!
If it is small, light-weight, and discreet… It should be fine. As long as it’s something that is not too heavy or sticks too far out (where it can throw off the flight of the drone), it should work well…
I got this as a wedding gift and is awesome! Although I can't get the drone to connect to my phone. I connect to the skyviper WiFi but the app doesn't go past the wifi screen section. Any suggestions?
Make sure the firmware & app are updated. Perhaps try with another phone or tablet to see if you get different results. Restart the drone & controller, then try again...
Did you download the skyviper viewer 2.0? I could only find the first skyviper viewer in the play store. I had to download the skyviper viewer 2.0 apk from a google search. After installing the 2.0 connect to the skyviper wifi then open the app and it should be good to go.
All that awesome technology and they can't fix the same problem the 2450gps had, the footage it produces has way too much jello in it. Thanks for the review, won't be wasting my money
Yes, unfortunately so… Although this seems to have slightly improved over the 2450, it does seem to have a bit of Jello… It seems that the camera just vibrates too much with its frame… Even when flying in low (to no) wind and at a slow speed…
Ur a good flyer thanks4 taturial makin me understand screen functions be back if i need more. I haven't flown a drone since 2015 when sky viper came out with the v2400 and it flew away love this gps function saves the day
Great review. Thanks for this video. Just got this drone and so far it’s great. What’s the maximum range on this? So far I’ve gone up to 138 ft. Battery life isn’t the greatest. Averaging about 11 minutes flight time per charge. Surprised at how fast it is.
rx344 Been flying it almost daily and have gotten good at the controls. Correction on the average flight time: 12 minutes 30 seconds. Got a bit higher to 160ft (48 meters). No where near 100 meters. And was getting a lost connection message. Then again, this was vertical height test. Haven’t tested how far I can get it going horizontally. The video feed is ok but there seems to be a 1-2 seconds delay from the drone to the app. Overall though loving it and eventually will upgrade. Got my eyes on the DJI Spark.
That’s great… Throughout the packaging and manuals, there should be a model number somewhere… You can also connect to the drone’s Wi-Fi and launch it’s app and within the app, you should be able to find an about or information section that will display the drone’s model number, serial number, etc.…
Mine lost connection and dropped entirely out of the sky, is that because I had my phone connected and not just controller like you? I want to be able to get those high up shots like you were.
Hello from Dublin(Ire), i purchased one from a toy store last week and mine is not great. had to do two firmware update's before it was mannagable. Out of the box it was realy bad...even landing was a real pain.
Hey I want to buy this drone but have they changed the cámara kind it looks way to foggy just saying I also got the fury and the nano I’m getting scout for my birthday so yeah bye
You can buy spare batteries at either Target, Walmart, online, or perhaps some other big box retailers… Simply look for the small box that has the batteries from Sky Viper… Get the 1200 mAh batteries...
In my opinion, the AeroView, as it feels more like a traditional, classic drone and its GPS seems to lock-on faster and you can mount your own camera on it, plus the motors are more powerful…
My remote won't connect why? New out of the box is it difective And the remote beeping all the time its like the batteries are low but the batteries are brand new Durcell
*WOULD YOU LIKE SOME READY-WHIP TO GO WITH THAT JELLO?* ;-) I've got one of these drones on the way (ETA 04-15-19) so I guess I'd better go to the store and pick up a few cans of Ready-Whip before it gets here, hahaha!!! :-D Nice flyer though if you aren't a budding cinematographer.
The controller looks like it was easy enough to manage because it looks just like an Xbox controller which was easy enough for me. The only part that blows is that when you record a video it doesn’t have audio to it like it doesn’t have a microphone and speaker built into the drone itself.
My remote’s red and green LED lights above the “search” and “lock” keep blinking and it’s not letting me fly the drone. It says on the manual to put the drone on level surface with the sky and the “lock” on the remote is supposed to be solid green. How long does it take for that to happen? Anyone know? What I mean is, how do you get it to connect to the satellite?
Mine will not connect to Skyviper 2.0 but connects to skyviper. Are there only certain ones that will connect to Sky Viper 2.0. I have journey se. I think it’s the one in the video
hello all I need some help I cannot seam to get my phone to connect to the skyviper video viewer 2.0 for my skyviper journey I connect to the skyveper internet signal then launch the ap all I get is wifi settings and some power on instrucions but my drone is on and I am connected to it but the ap will not do any thing to verify its connected
Try restarting the drone and carefully following the steps of the manuals and help of the app… If after several tries, you are still unable to connect to the drone and get a live video feed, the unit may be defective or faulty and may require you to return or exchange the product… Good luck.
My son got this for Christmas. He flew it today. After each time he landed it, he had to unplug and plug the battery in. Is this normal? Also to do a firmware update do you need the SD card? Thank you.
Unless he was swapping-out batteries (because the prior one was depleted), yes, it is normal as the way to activate the drone is simply by plugging in the battery… So I’m guessing he has at least a couple of batteries and after around 10 minutes (when the first battery finished) he lands it and plugs in the new battery (for another 10 minutes of flight)…
In that case, then there’s probably an issue… One fully charged battery should last him around 10 minutes worth of flight in the air… If that is not the outcome, then the product may be defective…
Make sure to record your video using an SD card inserted into the drone… If you only pull video streamed into the app, then the quality/resolution may be different…
I got one yesterday. It was twitchy. I went thru the calibration mode accelerameter magnotometer (compass) engines then the 6 axis gyro unplugged it powerful it back on and everything was smooth as silk. Just fyi
And it runs some very advanced piece of software compared to many bigger >250g drones! The problems are remote range, fpv range, lightweight in wind, low flight times but these or the v2450 gps can go far if you turn off fence and throttle failsafe (radio failsafe) and use waypoints! I just got a second v2450 gps on eBay for 62$CAD!
The quality level remains pretty standard… Two things you can do to ensure better quality video is 1), make sure you use an SD card and record the video footage from that and 2), make sure you fly slowly in little (to no) wind conditions (so that the shakiness of the footage is minimal)…
I've been in film production for 20 years so I can assure you I've done all of that. But clearly the quality is different than what you are showing and I wonder why. @@rx344
I can’t think of anything else that would make it different… Perhaps you may have a faulty or defective unit where there is an imperfection or distortion in the lens… If that is the case, perhaps you should return or exchange the product…
The only other thing that comes to mind, is the type of SD card… Make sure you’re using a class 10 high-speed SD card (where the video is accurately saved during recording)…
I've to take my words back, my 1st, the Wi-Fi board died, got a replacement and ordered a spare flight board. This thing has stm32f4 mcu!!! the GPS is ok, drifting a bit but sort of holding within 1m, it's light so no flying in high wind. Battery life is a joke and ordered another from hobbyking wich is 700mah but lasting longer than the original 1200mah. As I've never owned a drone before (there were no such things back then) my wife surprised me for christmas. The trick with these is to run update and calibrate properly before 11st flight and then every 10 flights or so. My 9 year old can fly it so.... So far so good and no major hustle. After all its a toy and not a pro kit. Happy flying
It is a brushed-motor, toy-grade drone powered by a single-cell battery, so it really doesn’t have enough power or strength to carry much weight (if any at all)...I wouldn’t recommend trying to attach much weight to this...
Thanks for this review. I've been thinking on this drone for a while now. all your reviews are helpful, informative and Very thorough. 👍👍 Thanks 😎❗
Thank you John! ;)
rx344 - you're welcome 👍😎
I watched it in 2024
I have DJI mini 2 and seeing how this flies for the price and what you can do is pretty cool, this drone seems very good for beginners and the price point is very good too
love the commentary and flights with video you did. thank you really explained alot of things well about this drone.

Awesome... instructions were spoken easy for a beginner like me to understand... thanks
This is my first quadcopter drone and I love it. It is the first vertical flying machine I have that has a camera. Only 1 crash that resulted in a broken part and that was a propeller and a prop guard.
Glad you like it... ;)
U can add table or chair pads to soften the landings if needed and not affect flight....I use to test drones 8 yrs ago before my head injury
thanks for the info bro.... I got one and am a first time flier... I didn't know my drone could do all that... I'm gonna try this tomorrow... thx bro
Great, thanks ;)
Beautiful Drone! Subscribed! 😎👍
Thank you! :)
From the app you can change the button layout to make the stunt button a photo button vice versa
Thank you this was so helpful for me setting it up you are such and kind person I hope you have a great day
Anybody else buy this from Walmart?
Holy cow, didn’t expect this many likes
I got one a couple days ago, but only paid 20 for it..
78 bucks
Yeah me
Yes i did
Walmart definitely had a good deal on this for Black Friday… Hopefully they will continue the sale throughout the holidays…
Thank you for that awesome drone footage from the sky. Very nice.
Thank you, I just needed help with connecting the drone!
Very nice footage. How far would you say you can send it before it returns to home? Mine seems to vary from flight to flight
This guy is by far the best droner ever, he has skills of a millionaire !!!!!
Thanks ;)
Some drone like that is $109 but some are $4,000 so ur is still god IM IMPRESSED WITH THE GPS that goes well with it
It’s a good drone
rx344 Hi I need help with the app! The app says connect to the WiFi. So I connect to the WiFi. But I get nothing. So can you please respond to this and Help a dude out. Ight Peace

Yes, these harmless, light-weight, toy-grade drones will almost always avoid the grasp of any sort of flight regulations...

You know I just got this for Christmas and I think it's so cool 😊😊😊
Great review and excellent video footage just purchased me one after buying my son one saw how much fun these drones are love the recording aspects of it.
Glad to hear that… Yes, the views from these quadcopters can be amazing… Hope you enjoy and happy flying! :)
super video merci tres bien expliquer tres bon petit drone gps
Merci beaucoup! :)
Just subscribed. I’m planning to buy this drone I already own 3. You drive it really good!
I fly better “what ever you. Can do I can do better
Damn, thats some serious flying skills.
For real
I bought this got ready to fly it. Turned it on inside my van went outside and was a great little drone. Sent it home and landed it right on top my van first try! (Dont turn on till outside :) )
Wow 🤭
Thanks for your efforts much appreciated just got this one and was great to see it in action great flying your really impressive , what do you think the range and flight time is? Thanks again.
Thanks, it has about 80 m range with about 12 mins flight time...
I went way further than 80m
It's the best video I've ever seen cause I'm getting a sky Viper
also what would be a better battery for this drone, Besides the one that came with it i would like 21 mins for flight time and not 10 to 15mins
2022 watching. Super excited to use
Would you recommend using the protector things for the propellers for a first time flyer? How do you put them on? Do they clip in under the drone or on top right underneath the propellers?
They clip on it’s good in case you hit walls
All of your drone reviews are excellent! Thank you!! I purchased the Journey recently, as my entry-level copter, and am loving it. The manual is probably my least favorite part of the experience. Good suggestion… I’ll see what I can do… Thanks ;)
Highly recommend !!!!
What if its told to return to home but trees are between the user and the drone? Does it just run into the the tress?
Would it be wise to attach foam or some soft material to the legs to help with those “rough” landings?
Or does that throw off the drone?
If it is small, light-weight, and discreet… It should be fine. As long as it’s something that is not too heavy or sticks too far out (where it can throw off the flight of the drone), it should work well…
Can you do more of this flying drone videos? I also subbed👍🏻
Sure, will be happy to... Thanks! 😁
Same
YOU ARE soooooooooooo good at flying drone
Thanks
So the instructions manual didn’t say whether or not the normal and sport buttons were supposed to start blinking, do you know anything about that?
What a pro at flying
Thanks ;)

26:50 im kinda scared to go that high after losing my First sky viper without gps
Got my journey pro gps bout to go night flying
With GPS it’s more secure, so if something goes wrong, you can simply have it return back automatically...
Same here lol i crashed it in the water
no worries with this one it has return to home. practice flying low and slow instill you understand how it maneuvers
Beautiful flying 👍 hood. So sweet.
Thanks! :)

Quick question does the Viper come with a SSD or do I buy my own? Also if I buy my own can I use my phone one?

Thanks, yes the GPS definitely makes it more secure as it will fly back automatically if something goes wrong…
Looks like a subdivision I installed irrigation for.
Let me guess Orlando area or More Clairmont Howie Florida Area Right?
This is one cool drone 😎
Porque cuando lo enciendo no parpadea la luz??
My drone doesn’t blink when I plug in the battery like yours it’s just a solid light. Any idea on how to fix it?
Where can I buy a new Battery?
Thank you for info.
Why you couldn't test the return to home
Thank you so much🎃
Great review. Thanks for this video. Just got this drone and so far it’s great. What’s the maximum range on this? So far I’ve gone up to 138 ft. Battery life isn’t the greatest. Averaging about 11 minutes flight time per charge. Surprised at how fast it is.

Thanks for all that information… Glad you’re enjoying it… The Spark is definitely an excellent upgrade...
I’ve yet to try a distance range But have been up to 423 feet altitude!
I got mine from Target Black Friday this year, how do you know which version you have? it advertised as v2700
Yes it is recommended to always fly this using its transmitter (as flying with the phone by itself is not as secure or reliable)...
Hello from Dublin(Ire),
i purchased one from a toy store last week and mine is not great.
had to do two firmware update's before it was mannagable.
Out of the box it was realy bad...even landing was a real pain.
Yes, sometimes a full firmware upgrade really improves a drone…
My drone keeps losing connection then stops the recording when it says it’s still recording. I updated the firmware will that fix this problem?
Hopefully that may fix the issue…
Does the battery really only last 8 minutes?
You are a pro at flying
Thanks ;)
I have a sky viper journey and it was very helpful
Glad to help! ;)
How do I get the password ?
Which drones handles better Hoover and control. This one or the scout ?
I would say the Journey is the overall better drone (compared to the Scout)…
Scout is almost no better than the fury, just a camera
Hi , Why its keep stuck on wifi setting even when I am connected to the drone?
Hey I want to buy this drone but have they changed the cámara kind it looks way to foggy just saying I also got the fury and the nano I’m getting scout for my birthday so yeah bye
do i open the packaging on the battety
Great video where can I get the battery in Canada
Thanks, try searching the web for: ‘Sky Viper battery’ and see if you can order it online… Perhaps try eBay…
Gift for Christmas, one of the motors not working out of the box, will return.
Yes definitely, you should exchange or return that right away…
Same got it for christmas
Anybody have a link or file for the app that works with this drone?
where can you buy an extra battery? Don't know if the other sky vipers battery would work Thanks
You can buy spare batteries at either Target, Walmart, online, or perhaps some other big box retailers… Simply look for the small box that has the batteries from Sky Viper… Get the 1200 mAh batteries...
In your opinion which is better the vivitar aeroview or the sky viper journey?
In my opinion, the AeroView, as it feels more like a traditional, classic drone and its GPS seems to lock-on faster and you can mount your own camera on it, plus the motors are more powerful…
Can I use a WiFi repeater for this or gps repeater ? Or both -and what frequency’s the controller? And WiFi and gps
I assume a WiFi repeater should work...
How can i reset manuel? Please help me.
My remote won't connect why? New out of the box is it difective And the remote beeping all the time its like the batteries are low but the batteries are brand new Durcell

Did you update the firmware recently? Maybe a new update now requires this…
the maximum distance ??

It says on the manual to put the drone on level surface with the sky and the “lock” on the remote is supposed to be solid green. How long does it take for that to happen? Anyone know?
What I mean is, how do you get it to connect to the satellite?
Just make sure you are outdoors (with a clear view to the sky), then wait about a minute and check the app...

Target had it for $99.
Unwrapped it yesterday, so I am.
Mine will not connect to Skyviper 2.0 but connects to skyviper. Are there only certain ones that will connect to Sky Viper 2.0. I have journey se. I think it’s the one in the video
I see the one in the video isn’t a SE. so does the SE Version not connect to skyviper 2.0 app
How do u lilt camera
hello all I need some help I cannot seam to get my phone to connect to the skyviper video viewer 2.0 for my skyviper journey I connect to the skyveper internet signal then launch the ap all I get is wifi settings and some power on instrucions but my drone is on and I am connected to it but the ap will not do any thing to verify its connected

Thanks for sharing this info...
Can you please tell me how long is the flying time?
Around 10 - 12 mins with the 1200 mAh batteries. I recommend getting a few of those...
Which battery connector does it use.
JST connector
My battery only last about 15min. Is this typical for this drone?
Yes I believe so
Hey sorry to bother again I wanted to ask you about how much weight can the drone carry
It is a brushed-motor, toy-grade drone powered by a single-cell battery, so it really doesn’t have enough power or strength to carry much weight (if any at all)...I wouldn’t recommend trying to attach much weight to this...
An 1/8 for 8 mins
I need to buy a charger? Where can I find one?
Who watching in 2020??
👍
Does this do flips or is that just stunt drones
How can i make this drone follow me around
Does it come with a SD card
This one didn’t...
