I lucked out in that my mom grew up the child of a convert and a nonmember, so she’s handled my leaving so well, just expressing love, and understanding that it just doesn’t work for me. If anything, she was overly worried about coming off too preachy because the church is a big part of her life, and she didn’t want to offend me.
Apparently she’s helped to explain to other family members how to best handle my leaving in just choosing to love and respect me.
I anticipate that as more leave, more and more members will soften the reaction.

I thank god every day that Apostle Bednar’s GGM didn’t drink a little cup of coffee so he could be born to serve as an example of human perfection. 🙏

I love our little mini temple here where I live. I wanted to get married in DC, but 6 months before the wedding a temple was finished here and dedicated. Hinkley was Prophet.

I am so glad I watched this, even though I was very late to the party! Good show!
Rebecca, I am sorry to hear about your parents! I am glad my parents (divorced many years ago) and my husband’s parents too have passed away. I am so glad they didn’t live to see the mess the church and family are in!
    Again, my condolences!

I have to disagree about the pioneers invading Mexico. He missed the Mormon Battalion story during 1846. It was the funds from the US army, that was paid to the Mormons to form the Battalion. Those funds were turned over to Brigham Young to fund the Trek because the members were still at Winter Quarters and Iowa. The "war" gave possession of the area to the US.

The “ask Rebecca” segment felt pretty icky. Regardless of the politics, why is dives asking “what to do” about his wife making a donation choice? It has some sexist undertones towards the wife.

    G. A. CAUSSE embodies France's Marie Antoinette when she responded to the angry hungry masses of her realm who shouted for bread:
    😮"Let them eat cake.
Thank you, male co-host! (please forgive my not knowing your name).
    My physiological response
to this G.A. has always been gnashing teeth at his smarmy voice and lying visage which, clearly, he accounts a heavenly vision.
    Your summary evaluation here
confirms that my "take" is entirely accurate.
I so appreciate your comments; both of you.

@@sheliabryant3997 all misinformation needs to be corrected. What the general public believes about Marie Antoinette and the French revolution is incorrect. Most people only know what they've seen in movies, read in books, or taught in school. If she didn't say that, then the premise is NOT the same. If you don't understand that it matters, then you're ok with distortions and lies. I don't understand that kind of thinking. Most people are grateful to know the truth, not all, but most. How do I know? I STUDIED the French revolution (for years), which included reading the original journals of individuals living at that time. In order to understand what's going on in the world today, you have to understand the French revolution. Once you understand that, you can understand all the wars and revolutions since that time and know exactly where it's leading us. And strangely enough, Mormonism is loosely connected. Sadly, the exmos don't understand that connection. They're so angry at being betrayed that they're focused on a narrow scope of wrongdoings and lies, they're not able to get the whole picture. They were never part of Christianity. Mormonism was never part of Christianity. Mormonism was never intended to be Christian. It used Christianity verbage to mislead people and draw them into the cult.
