Very cool! Ben always breaks it down to super simple steps.
Gorgeous table, Ben! I like the little vein of sap wood you left in it. I think most folks would avoid that, but it looks awesome and gives it even more character.
yeah i was just trying to use as much of the slab as possible but it came out nice!
Really beautiful, Ben. I'm going to follow your tip on filling in the cracks and holes with resin on our table.
Wao, it looks so good and its simple. When I think on doing something with a slab like that I overcomplicate everything in my head!
Nice! You make it look easy!
The table looks great. Especially for a larger table I would suggest some type of reinforcement to keep it straight. One could use a special aluminum and steel dovetail batten that would work well with the slick design.
This video really makes me want to get into woodworking. Well done!
Nicely done Ben. I'm excited to see what you Chris and mike not mark have in store for the dwell page.
I'm actually pretty excited about what Mark will do. That guy seems to know some crazy things.
Great job on this one Ben!!
The table looks good. I'm curious if there is a reason for doing the epoxy last? I have always done it first, before sanding, so that I can sand it down when I sand the rest of the slab, but I'm open to learn if there is a reason to do it the other way around. (Oh yea, and easy fix for the cloudy epoxy --- just sand up to 400 or 500 grit, and it will become perfectly clear.)
no reason, i guess i just wanted to see if any parts of the knot would shake loose.
Gotcha... I'm actually surprised you were able to pull it off without having to re-sand. So I guess I learned something either way. New option to add to the arsenal....
Thats beautiful
Great project again!
Whenever I watch your videos I'm laughing to myself, "my wife would kill me for doing these projects inside" LOL!
Linda mesa, to apaixonada !!!
Dope!!
Where do you get Table Top resin?
Sherry Uyeda I got mine off of eBay, but I know most people prefer Amazon these days. You can try keywords like liquid glass, epoxy resin, or table top/bar top resin. Read reviews first to see how others like it and you won't have any surprises!
Just to throw this out there... A lot of builders mix black colorant into their epoxy anyways, so I've found black wood filler to be a cheaper and less messy substitute for epoxy.
That's a lot of leg for that top
