Damn I love this old school BASS! Obviously so tragic that a young Brian had his life shortened at such a young age! Still a highlight classic of my older age! His legacy has NOT been forgotten!!!
If his parents see this , I do appreciate all the stuff u sent me many years ago , he inspired me to never give up. You sent me a letter and still have all the stuff . Good bless you all
Man I remember seeing this and going out to practice flipping in my back yard in a coffee can. Practicing always and then knowing he passed away it was so sad and I went in to do my first BASS tournament with him in mind I took 3rd place and won big bass of the day. Everyone came up to me asking who I was and had I ever competed before. That guy was an inspiration to me and still is.
I watch these 70s/80s/90s Classics and just imagine that they are happening now. Feels good. Everything revolved around the fisherman and the bass. And just look at those boats. 150hp, flashers and maybe two - at most three small electronics. Today it's about the 100,000 boats, nutty-ass advances in technology and MONEY, MONEY, MONEY. I mean, hell... It costs two grand just to enter. aka NO SOUL...
I guess Im asking randomly but does someone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot my password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
@Logan Jalen i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I loved The Bassmasters in the 80’s & 90’s. That open, music, narrator, and Ray Scott were the perfect combination. I just don’t like how the show is produced today. Too over the top.
I don't have one that's ready for RUclips yet, but you can watch it here: video.bassmaster.com/detail/video/835674958001/1995-bassmaster-classic?autoStart=true&q=1995
twice he suffered two knockout punches 1st in 1990 he had the lead from day one and he was 1 angler away from winning it wire to wire but that angler is rick clunn had a final day weigh in to remember from 10th place after day 2 to $50,000 at the end of the 3rd and final day and 2nd he loses to an angler who taken away from us far too soon
Professional bass Tournaments aren't the same any more Just saying IMO. Bryan's tragedy was a heart breaker. I have an autograph cap from this classic in which I cherish.
I agree with you. The tournaments and classics back then just had a different feel than they do now. It felt like they were the most important thing in the world at that time. Don't get me wrong. I still watch all the tournaments now, but they just don't have the same feel and energy as they did back then.
R.I.P. Bryan Kerchal. Your legacy will live forever.
I love watching these old tournaments.

Can't get over how many marshals opened a live well lid during this Classic. Surprised it was allowed or tolerated.
They and camera men used to be allowed to fish
Make the movie!! Like 8 seconds... 🥲

It all went to crap when we had to listen to the stupid “ Boom shack-a-lack “ for several years.
