Man the memories. Lookn at the old school Rangers. The opening/closing theme music of the show. And damn, the commentator of BASS at this time was awesome. And, of course, legends of the sport! No you can never re-live you're youth, but watchn these old shows brings back some awesome butterflies of being a kid!
I learned so much from those years.they realy tried to explain what they were doing, looking for, explains the techniques, something that is missing today.thanks for the upload, makes feel 12 again and ready to Bass fish.👍
I live 60 miles south of Richmond. I was 12 in 1988 and I was there to see Guido win. Then in 89 I saw Hank Parker win and in 1990 Rick Clunn won with a mega bag that final day. I've got a Johnson fast strike hat from 1988 with Guido Hibbdons signature. Think about it folks the Bass Master Classic was in the same place 3 years in a row.!
The late 1980's Evinrude XP150 Motors had a low piston compression of 90psi from the factory. Lot of folks did not know that and when they are tested these days with 80 to 85psi buyers think they should be 120psi and that is not correct.
" David Mcintire "... Because at the end of the day...Spinning reel is more dependable than a bait caster. Fishing a high stake Tournament like the Bass Masters...time is money and a Bad birds nest on a bait caster can cost an angler valuable time that could result in not getting that One last fish that could put him over the top.
I miss bass master being like that
This was when bass fishing was amazing ,made of depth finders and skills & knowledge
That was a great Classic. Ray Scott was such a great promoter.
RIP Scott and Hibdon❤

Guido had a great wife she was such a blessing and supportive spouse he will be missed!!
Ray Scott. Made bass fishing what it is today. Also the godfather of catch and release.
rick clunn awarded with the 1988 BASS AOY

1988 Buggs island Top 100.. Randy Blauket... I'd love to see that tourney. Talked to Blauket and he doesn't have it anywhere..
I think you can find that on Lynn Dollar's channel
Midwest style finesse fishing!!!
Ranger dominated the Bass Tournaments during the 1980's sad what the company has become, Struggling.
27:48 don't worry this is not a 1 day fishing tournament

@9:30 Now we know who started the flat bill hat disaster.
I call the flat billed cap the modern day dunce hat.
35:01 I wander what ever happened to this trailer and these 2 boats?
Only thing it is about now is sponsorship and who has the best gear and most up-to-date gear. It's had less than 50% skill now
when is the next classic here. Cause I live like 30 min away from Richmond
TopWater King Richmond has to make make a high enough bid to bassmaster to come back here and fish it I wish they would come back here to Virginia too
Plus it’s gotta be somewhere they can fish in March
like to win at fishing just to pay for the truck and the boat. LOL
29:28 how the outboard motors are made
28:54 these are the boats the classic contenders are useing
lol. you do realize this was 30 years ago?
Look at the Rangers
