- Well, you knew you all could not escape this... It is time for the US stereotype stage of the game! Hehe~ Looks like the US was still infamous for "cowboys and indians" when this game was made. Thus, the whole stage follows this pattern with old west style enemies with cowboy hats and little guns. That... is really the only enemy type that follows this pattern, but the stage DOES have old-fashioned looking barrels and a traditional old west sunset! The music is definitely quite fitting, too... The stage itself is fairly easy, though. It also features the game's mandatory Proto Man cameo.
Tomahawk Man himself is almost as tricky as Yamato Man to deal with. He has a little more variety than Yamato Man by being able to jump around the room as well as having a couple attacks, but fighting him is really similar to Flame Man. You need to be sure to keep a particular distance from him or he will do small hops to close in on you, making dodging him much harder. Dodging both his Tomahawk throw and headdress feathers just requires a well-timed jump. Should the game's control issues behave, he should be an only slightly tricky fight.

The parallax scrolling seems impressive until you realize the ground never covers the mountains, and everything below the mountains is all 1 color.
That, and the effect with the sun in the background is straight up SPECTACULAR!

People complain about the stereotype but I actually dig it. In fact the level, his design, and music all go together in order to place Tomahawk Man on my Top 10 Mega Man bosses list. You can complain that the whole list of Robot Masters in MM6 are stereotypes.
They represent Native Americans very respectfully with the stereotyping and it just really nails everything about Native Wmericans and the wild west.

God, the visual quality of this stage is just incredible. Late NES games truly mastered the limitations of the system

I’d imagine that if you do slide it leaves you wide open for a tomahawk throw due to how close you are

@PricelessOnyxSpade Once you get the Energy Balancer, if you don't have a master weapon on, if you pick up a weapon energy capsule it will put the energy into the weapon with the lowest energy automatically. If you have a weapon on it will give the energy to that one. It's in a lot of Megaman games (and it always looks the same) and how you get it is different for nearly every game. I just thought it was kind of ironic that Protoman would give you the balancer when he could probably use it more.

It's not everyday that you see parallax scrolling in an NES game.

Funny how Protoman gives you the Energy Balancer in this game, but in the Megaman 2: The Power Fighters arcade game, they say his energy core has a fatal flaw, and that's also how they explain his half defense in Megaman 10, game balance notwithstanding. Priorities, Protoman, gotta look out for Number 1, or Number 0, in his case XP

what does the energy balancer do? i have all the mega mans (1-8 then the X 1s on game cube). ive beaten 6 once but i didnt have the balancer. i cant figure out what it does. i have beat (hes not as good as he is in 5)
