Great video, wish you did more tests like this....maybe £100 - £200 bracket 3.5 tc and £200- £300 3.5 tc bracket and even one with main lines, 15 pound to 18 pound mono and the same with fluorocarbon. Great video, good insight for all of us carpers who have not got a clue we're to start win it comes to buying carp gear. Thanks
Same, I'm looking at £280 rod but unsure what price reel to put on it, it's more yolo as fish max 3 times a year but like something decent than a £50 or £20 fishing set rod
Great idea and much needed. Its very difficult to find any comparisons between different rods etc. with the cost of carp tackle it can be an expensive mistake. Would be very interested to see the same format with rods priced £100 - £200 to see how much difference there is between the price brackets. 👍
Ive just updated my rods 2x greys prodigy 13ft gt2 50 3.50lb . And 2x Shimano ultegra xte reels . Haven’t used the yet but excited to put to them to the test
Hello @carpologytv Could you help me please? I am considering to buy new carp rods but cant decide which one should I choose… First option would be Shimano Tribal TX-1 A 12 ft Intensity 3.5 lbs and the second option would be Fox EOS Pro 12 ft 3.5 lbs? Thank you for your help!
Great video this lads👏 it’s always difficult when buying a rod as you can’t gauge how they will perform in the shop! Obviously people buy rods for different reasons, be it casting or fish playing and budget can have an impact as well but this gives a great start point. Looking forward to more comparison videos to come.
Just ordered the Daiwa Vertice 12ft / 3lb tc for £50 new. If it won your test, it's got to be well worth 50. Hoping the Nash Dwarf Big Pit Reel pairs well with it. Thanks for the advice.
Great video guys. I've been banging on about this weird test curve way of rating carp rods ( amongst others ) "power" for ages. I reckon a high speed casting weigh rating would be way easier to understand and compare, but that's just what I think. Again, great vid guys.
Leeda own Wychwood who used to have a series of carp and barbel rods branded "Rogue" I wonder if these Leeda rogues are just rebadged Wychwoods. I have the model above from that time the Wychwood Solace and cannot fault them. See no reason to replace them
Great review lads, covered all the bases as fairly and accurately as possible. The slight preference in rod butt length might be down to length of arm rather than height, Iain and Joe are obviously more similar in height than Luke but Luke and Iain might have more similar length arms (shoulder bone to thumb knuckle), perhaps? Not really necessary for the test but might pass 10 minutes in the office😉
Good test lads well done.. maybe cover all model names/butt caps too to make it a complete blind test if you do any again. Certainly be interested in seeing a 9/10ft test for sub £100 rods. Get them ESP quick draw rods tested 💪🏼
You guy's are all jelling so well nowadays... Love the banter boy's! ... Plus watching you all mess up cast's makes us all feel better! .. annoyingly I fish wish a guy who is a legendary caster !!! 😝🙄😂
Did you guys ask carp spirit by any chance only asking as I've got some and be interested if they said no or you didnt ask that company. I have the magnum x1 which I really like and would of loved to known what your thoughts where on it. Thanks BTW you guys are great, love watching your videos.
Sorry but i don't get the accuracy part you are going on about that's all down to you, i mean what ever direction the tip is facing when the lead takes off is where the lead goes
Couple of cracking casts there 😅🎣 Top work & those Rogues really are bargains! Even though they're a scraper £100 rod.. Horizon X3 TTs in the mix would surely shake things up!
fox horizons are shocking..worst ive ever seen..all different lengths with the eyes stuck on where ever the feel like putting them and the construction are all over the place..one rods carbon can be tightly wrapped..the next rod you pick up can be looser..id rather a £20 ron thompson..i was going to buy a set until i noticed how shit they were
Good review of budget carp rods lads, great idea to do a bit more of this for other price points of rods and perhaps the same format for reels. One other thing though lads, just an observation, the poor anglers fishing opposite you when doing the 75yd casts😂 three casts each, three casters, eleven rods, that's at least 99 casts, not counting the prep casts off camera.🤣🤣 I reckon they were well pleased when you started the shoot.😂
Just a little note test curve is not really a great metric of stiffness test curve simple refers to the force needed to bend the tip 90degs action is far more important tip action parabolic or through actions will all feel vastly different at a 3lb test. And best rod for under £100 used Terry Hearn Mk1s xx
What always gets me these days is the quality you can get for the money compared to when I started angling. Great for juniors and cautious parents who don't want to invest too much in what could turn out to be a fad.
Come on! They didn't know what make the rods were?!! Either they think the viewer is stupid or they're stupid!! Look at the butt cap, most of the reel seats and the name of each rod was displayed! Daiwa and Shimano, they're just kissing arse! Oh and no fox rod because they know they'd have lost 🤣
Nice overview but I do have some points I’d improve on. None of you are that knowledgable about rods and none of you use those types of rods in your fishing. I would suggest maybe get a rod builder and a caster involved. Also, it was quite a long video that didn’t cover that much. Have more categories and deliver it in a table to show. Basically watch the project farm channel and do that. It’s a good overview and a view into what 3 average anglers think of the the rods in general. Also, you didn’t really cover the logos properly. If you know about companies products which you do you can tell what rod is what.
Enough guys, Enough compering each rod, Enough for me to catch mackerel . That's the whole point. You can get 30 quid from your local tackle shop than 100 quid way too expensive.
great honest review chaps, but most impressed with how many times Luke can crack one off
Very helpful if you’re after a new rod. Need an in depth, honest review like this on the pack down rods…Sonik, Nash, Daiwa etc
Grays?
Great review

Really helpful review to help select a new rod as there doesn’t seem to be many comparison videos about…..
Great to see a video like this. Cannot wait for the next review

Supprised a tx2 wasn’t in it! I’m sure that’s would clean up 😊 great video thank you
Really enjoyed this, looking forward to another comparison
Really enjoyed this. It would be interesting to see a mid and high end test also. Nice work 👏

This is a great unbiased test, well done lads
Great realistic test, good video. Thanks guys.
You was testing at thrope lea ? Looks like it
Top video thanks, looking at carp rods currently and this helped immensely
Brilliant guys, really enjoyed that! Well done 👍👌
Love the review lads, looking forward to many more 📽💯👍
Great content lads again
I been fishing since 11 I'm 40 now I love buying the best gear as its my hobby I can honestly say rods are rods fact.
About to watch looking forward to it
Splendid idea for all beginers who dont want waste money. Well done guys!

I use the wychwood rouge 2.75tc and they have never let me down plus they have a lifetime warranty with them.
Interesting and enjoyable. You really can't go wrong with Daiwa or Shimano 👍
Very useful video, considering I'm still using my shakespeare cypry rods.
Great video, well done. How about doing it with a 9ft 3tc aswell?
Which one do you think would be the most fun to play a fish with? And which felt most balanced with the reel ?
Love it how fox didn't send any

Hi, which one for long casting? Shimano TX1-A 13ft 3.5lbs vs. Sonik dominatorX RS 13ft 3.5lbs
Sonic is class up ... Realy good rods i hope you buy Sonic 😁
Come on lads you clearly knew who the rods were built by.
Good test lads well done.. maybe cover all model names/butt caps too to make it a complete blind test if you do any again. Certainly be interested in seeing a 9/10ft test for sub £100 rods. Get them ESP quick draw rods tested 💪🏼
I use silstar feeder rod 150gr pulling 18lb carp out regularly never going back to carp rods unless I have to cast over 75mtrs
You guy's are all jelling so well nowadays... Love the banter boy's! ... Plus watching you all mess up cast's makes us all feel better! .. annoyingly I fish wish a guy who is a legendary caster !!! 😝🙄😂
How far can you cast a small to medium bag with the 3lb vertise
Great idea lads, can we do a telescopic version, i.e dwafr vs scope vs xtractor vs insurgents and obviously fox and diawa and others now make these
2nd caster kept twitching rod instead of letting line fly true
Brilliant defo need to do a £100-£200 guys 👍🏻🔥
I've just ordered the daiwa vertice on the back of this for a great price. £130 for 3 rods!
was really surprised the black widow wasn't on this :o
BW is under 50 £
They are good for the money
@@K20rotrex i know

I'm guessing, blank twist, recovery and overall weight of the rod all play a part in accuracy.
@@Onpointcarp ok well you keep guessing
What diameter line are they using

There’s hardly any difference in between all rods that are under 100 lol the thing I look for is Quality fitting Fuji etc

Daiwa crosscast extention all year long😊
Ahh you can’t beat the free paannnnd test curve rods.

We won't know which rod is from which brand because they are all taped up. Except the logo on the butt, the reel seat and anywhere else😂
The amount of bullshit here to win these reels blows my mind.
Cringe alert lol

Noddys lol
Send me rod #1 n I'll test it 4 you
