Just received my 270 awning! Installed in about 30 minutes on my Freespirit Overland trailer. It is freaking awesome! Received it in time for our epic cross country trip! Oregon trail route eastbound and Route 66 westbound on the return trip.
Hey, do you have the new t-slot hammer type bolts? I just received my awning and I don't like these new bolts that they replaced as they do fall out the channel, this will make it not safe if I want to adjust my awning.
@@hardrockexpedition7745 I used the bolts that came with the awning. Did a 7500 mile cross country trip with no problems. The bolts never loosened and I didn’t even need to use thread lock.
Awesome awning and annex. I have both and it’s super easy to setup and takedown. Pro tip: find the notch in the annex. The notch gets lined up with the elbow corner at the rear of the awning. That’s where you start attaching the Velcro. Otherwise you end up misaligning the doors where they should go.
Hey guys love this. The only thing I’m wondering is seems like on the access to the back or side of truck or an SUV you should have the zipper start at top and zip down on both sides. To where you keep the tent skirt around the bottom so bugs, animals etc… can’t get in. That way if we are sleeping in back of truck or suv with latch open don’t have concerns about bugs. Hope that makes sense. If I bought this would have to make a make shift skirt that velcros on underneath when windows on back or side of truck are open. Thanks for the video.
You guys just blew my mind!!! That was a great video. The product you guys are putting out is the TRUTH. Well once my 270° gets here, I'll be ordering the Annex. Did you guys field test the Annex in wind and rain? Just curious on how that velcro will hold up where it fastens to the 270 with gravity always pulling downward. You literally just adding a whole nother living and sleeping quarters!! Great job Logan and best luck to Abraham, cause he's still my dude!!!
Is the annex/room designed for sleeping inside of in cold, hot and rainy/windy weather? I'm looking for a 270 awning solution with enclosed tent for a family of 6 and it's been nigh impossible to find something that actually includes a large enclosed room with an actual floor. I like the design of the Freespirit awning/room combo though, but unsure of how it would work in all weather conditions. Thanks!
Is there any reason for using velcro to attach the annex and the floor? Could YKK zippers have been used instead? Also, do you think it would be possible for me to retrofit YKK zippers after purchase? As you can guess, I am not a fan of velcro - especially when dust, sand, lint, spider webs, and mud get added to the mix.
Your rear hatch will most likely hit the 270 awning. We just released our 180 awning which would be a better option for the 4Runner! gofsr.com/collections/vehicle-awning/products/180-degree-awning
This looks great! Question though, why Velcro? Seems like the Velcro will degrade over time or trap debris and not work well. The velcro is the only reason I’m not pulling the trigger on this.
The velcro is very durable and tight not allowing debris to get into the seam. We have not heard of this happening with our customers that enjoy this annex. If you'd like to know more about it give us a call!
The Awning Room has two walls, one for the front and a back side wall that covers the vehicle. These attach together by zipper and the floor is attached with velcro. The unit is sold a complete only. Thanks for the question hopefully this helped.

@@seanmclainbrown Do you know if you got the old square t bolt or the new hammer type bolt?
@@hardrockexpedition7745 I’ll have to take a look, it’s been a while since I installed it.

I wonder how long it’ll last. The Velcro.

This setup looks sooooo dope! Good job guys
Already ordered mine! Can’t wait to have this installed and use it on my cross country trip this summer! I ordered the awning and the annex!
Awesome set up.....kudos
The awning should have a zipper instead of velcro honestly, we be easier to set up and more reliable over time.

For a 5th gen 4runner, can you open the rear hatch? Or will it hit the metal arm?
Oh yeah man!
Hey how tall are the walls from top to bottom?

Will you be offering individual side panels for those instances that we just want to add a side or two??
