- In this video I will take you to three different beaches to show the status of erosion and sargassum. One beach looks almost like normal…but beware…There is one beach that should be avoided! The erosion has completely destroyed this beach! We also found a hidden gem toward the end of the video and the clear winner of the day! Make sure to watch before planning where to stay and which beaches to visit here in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico!

When I was there in January/February 38 didn't exist, waves were crashing into the villas, crazy how the sand moves around there! Pro-tip, no open alcohol off 5th, asking for trouble 😬 Happy Birthday!

I am coming mid-July for my b'day with some friends and was literally telling them last night that the beaches are a lost cause due to the Sargassum 😢 So this gives me a little hope! Typically, people will dredge to pull more sand up onto the beach from the water. Beaches fluctuate quite a bit and need maintenance.

You would never believe this beach was all pristine white sand prior to 7 years ago.
So sad how much it has changed… even 5 years ago I don’t remember anywhere near this much sargasso. I’m grateful though that with a little walking, there are still nice spots to be found. Thanks for watching 😎🏝️

Fyi, calle 2 to calle 6 beach is very wide but there is none in front of Parque Fundadores.

@@theropemonster there was a lot of sargassum,so we really didn’t go to the beach. We did walk along the beach at 38 and 40th. We’re definitely coming back in a few months before the end of the year. Want to check out the beaches north of the tourist area.
