    2:23 9...Bg4 here isn't theory! It's a legitimate move after 8...e6 9.Nf3, but not after 8...Qd7 9.Nf3 as in the game here, where it's a blunder: without the pawn on e6 protecting d5, 10.d5 is already crushing for white.

    • @blueelephant4971

      Yes with the very hard to see point 10...BXf3 11 e6!! fe 12 QXf3 ed 13 cd Ne5 14 Qe4 followed by 15 Bb5 if the knight moves from e5 (or 15 Nb5 if Black protects the knight with ...Qd6). Hey Daniel, I got a question for you: what game duration would you recommend to start with for a beginner? I used to play 10 mins and got stuck in 700 elo, then I started playing 3 min blitz and could only reach up 500 and there I am, kinda frustrated for not being able to get higher. Do you think I should move up to 5 min games? Or should I just keep playing blitz til' I get better 🤔. Hope you read this and thanks for this you're making. You're awesome!

    • @lukelandmesser9331
      @lukelandmesser9331 3 года назад +3

      Hey there! I suggest doing rated puzzles every day to get better at winning. To play faster, you'll need to play more games, but take the time to reflect on the games to realize your mistakes. Don't feel discouraged about your elo. It'll come as long as you're learning from your mistakes.

    • @notyourdad
      @notyourdad 3 года назад +4

      I would suggest sticking to longer games and analyzing every single game afterward. Everyone's different but I noticed that Blitz wasn't doing me any favors and I stagnated, so I went back to Rapid and have been making steady progress after that again. I've even been considering moving up from 10min to 15 minute games simply because I still often get into time trouble when trying to play solid chess and not blunder anything major.

    • @Noteasybeingwheezy
      @Noteasybeingwheezy 3 года назад +4

    I thought he accidentally uploaded the same video again because he said that same thing about not thinking he had played it even though he just did two videos ago haha. Granted in real time that could be weeks later.

    Day 50 of saying you're the best danya. Thanks for always putting out some of the most badass content on youtube. I might just be an andy but I'm a total fan of your precise incredible play. Thank you for the joy you're bringing us viewers.

    What's up with the way he pronounces Alekhine? I'm sure I've heard other (non-Russian) GMs pronounce it the other way, and it's not like Danya wouldn't know how to. So why?
