I hope everything is alright with your car dude! I cam here from RUclips recommendations. I saw that you are using maxpeeding rods connecting rods. Let me know how those go for you! I was also planning on using superrich pistons. I have a 1.8 NB that I'm planning to do a bottom end build on. I had already put a turbo on it but the rings are shot and making the car burn oil and smoke excessively. So Im about to record my journey on that as well. Looking forward to the updates!!

Dude, while it was small use a rag or towel and your hands. Hell use your shirt if you can't find a towel or something. I had an Alternator catch fire in my first car when i was 17 or 18 and the guy at the Red light behind me got out with a rag and just did the "smother it out" technique. Obviously if you don't catch it while it's small this way won't work so don't try it on a big fire and end up in the ER. Hopefully the damage is minimal, i was digging this build!

If it was just the fire on top of the valve cover that would have been a great idea, however you can see it's also around my downpipe. Probably wouldn't have been able to smother it in that awkward position. There was actually no damage surprisingly

@@revreign oh crap, yeah all I saw was the valve cover. That's great news, cuz it could've been bad. Keep up the good work bro.
