I placed an order today for an Orient Kamasu in blue. I've been eyeballing it for a while, I finally caved and purchased it. It will be my 3rd automatic in my small collection. I'm super excited for it to get here. You did a great review. I enjoyed it.
Did you got the blue one? How it is? And how about green and red dial kamasu? I'm confused with 3 colours
And does that bracelet needs to be changed? What do you feel? Do you suggest Blue dial with bracelet or with strap to buy!
Really comprehensive. I love your philosophical take on your years of collecting and honestly I think if you made a video just sitting in front of the camera sharing a lot more of that would not only be interesting, but useful to people ( like me) getting into the hobby more recently. They should just sell this for a little more and put a bracelet on with solid end leaks and a decent clasp. Look, if strap code can sell them for $90 and make a profit they probably cost about $35 a piece to make or something like that. So they could add 50 bucks to the price and still bump the profit margin and make a watch that is pretty much flawless compared to anything less than $3,000 plus...
I would love orient to make this watch as a quartz, solar!!
You're the first watch guy who I've seen with an Apple watch on one arm! LOL
Put mine on a recently purchased nbonal brand or Eache brand mesh strap with a fold over clasp for less than $20. Much nicer than the older hook and snap closure.
Description on Kamasu watch watch manual says it is not to be used for diving!!!!

First automatic watch for me and my Kamasu runs at +2.5s/day which to my understanding isn’t that bad. I wish it had the exhibition glass in the back though. I bought a cheap unbranded Bliger with a sapphire exhibition case for like $110. The Bliger is an homage to the black Rolex dive watches. It’s has a ceramic bezel with the PT5000 movement and has screw links. I still prefer my Kamasu though. The Bliger PT5000 has a bigger crown and the winding feels smoother than my Kamasu and beats at 28,800 VPH. However, it’s +7s/day compared to my Kamasu’s +2.5s. Both bezels have slight play but the Bliger has the slightly smoother 120/click bezel. As far as looks go the Kamasu wins hands down. I only own two automatic watches so I’m still kinda new at this
The orient movement is nothing special to look at I prefer no caseback that might increase thickness
2.5 seconds a day is better than expected from a $10,000 brand new rolex. So yeah, it's not so bad lol
Awesome review, I got mine couple weeks ago and I must say I am really pleased with it. Plus I didn't have to do anything with it since it had less than two secondes of daily deviation out of the box. Best value for money if you ask me.
Kamasu looks very nice, but a bit undersized for my 7.5 inch wrist, looking for an alternative now, thx for the video 👍

Not long after purchasing my Kamasu, the crown came out loose when pulled out to set up time.
Is this a common defect to Orient?

How does the Orient Kamasu’s in house movement stack up against the NH35… like which one is smoother sweeping?
Excellent question! They both beat at 21,600 vph, so you'll see them both sweep about the same.
