I agree with the fact that people don’t bother about mums after the delivery. During my post partum people were so mean and always body shamed me for the way I was . I lost so much weight in contrast and people looked at me like I was terminally ill.. and there was constant pointing out at things like breast feeding coz I had to bottle feed her coz I wasn’t getting milk and it’s such a taboo that you bottle feed . I had so much mental breakdown whenever people talked about it . I think people should stop judging new moms just coz they don’t fit into their respective standards!

I have 2 kids now and so I was of the same opinion as you...that I wanted to be their friend. Now 13 years into parenting....Ive changed that a lot. I want to be able to have an open communication like a friend would. But also I have to parent....meaning I have to tell them right from wrong no matter how hard it is to hear. Because girl...they got only 1 mom to parent and they will have manyyyy friends in life ❤️
What you said about mama's care was so true. I had a c-sec and literally it was the worst pain i ever experienced till that point in my life. I could not walk or hold the baby. And my mother in law told i was making up that pain and she could walk kilometres just after 7 days of her csec. I even didn't have the best supply of milk. And every one shamed me for that too even the maids at my home. Your baby is hungry because you don't produce milk. I would put my baby on my boobs for 1.5 hrs at a stretch. He would just suck and i had no idea there is only limited milk at one point in time. My ever so supportive husband suddenly changed because he started living with his mother and told me 1 lakh women deliver babies everyday in india. So neither me or my pain is special.
Same with my in-laws but my husband is very supportive and cooks food for me and takes care of baby to n help in bathing and take to washroom whenever I feel need to pee and all such stuff that is possible

Just a heads up: idk if you have already thought it out.. but as a med student we have read soo much about the benefits of not immediately washing down the baby after birth and there are soooooo many benefits like immunity and its good for the babys skin.. you should probably make a decision and inform your doctor and doula about it

Being a mum is hard, i only hope as a society we can drop these expectations but unfortunately it's easier said than done.
We need to have people like you in society. In our community; mama is not allowed to eat soo soo many things after giving birth.. And it is like mentally soo excrutiating!! I feel soo terrible thinking about it. Not to go out in sun, dont step out of room, Dont bath daily, Dont wash your hair, Eat food which do not have ant taste.. its soo soo bad

Mals, I'm too a mom of 1 month old baby boy , quick advice to you, whatever time is left for you to deliver the baby, just keep yourself busy with all the good thoughts about how this baby will bring happiness into your life, how your baby is the blood of your blood & bone for your bones. Keep talking to your baby because this time will not come again , even if you have another baby in future. Because this feeling of becoming mom for 1st is something different & special at the same time. And once the baby arrives you'll be overwhelmed this baby & all the new routine this baby will bring in your life. Be happy & love your baby ❤️

so so important to talk about mental health during pregnancy. before you opened up about your mental health journey through your pregnancy Mals, i had always assumed pregnancy is supposed to be a surge of serotonin for the mom. thank you for telling us that it isnt always butterflies & rainbows, & its always important to show up for the mom to be, & allow her to take her journey however way she wants to! & seeing you at Duas birthday when you were 37 weeks pregnant is such a stigma breaker. we’ve always seen women hide during the third trimester, mainly to avoid making others be vary, & just waiting for the baby. Girl you have taught me how to do pregnancy without being apologetic! ❤ so much love your way🎉❤❤❤

I always tried to be happy during pregnancy but i was also stressed and used to cry as well because my pregnancy was a very hactic one i was always tired not able to cook but have to cook...felt pukish for most of the time. My baby cries for 2 months straight she is 6 months now but she laughs a lot now cries as well but it's a journey it's fine 😊

Was watching this video yesterday the halfway through it my sister came screaming at me "malvikaa gave birth to a baby girl" And oh my god I teared upp a bit and felt super happy 🥺🥺 (now finishing the whole video) Just wanted to tell you congratulations ❤ You gonna be an amazing mom mals!
When you said nobody asks about tha “mamma” It hit me sooo hard… I was soo ill treated post partum and during pregnancy by my mother-in-law and my husband never understood that she was doing something wrong… the whole year actually has scarred me for life… and all I can do now is hate her for what she has done to me.. which no one will ever understand… I have continuously tried forgiving her but then she keeps on doing things that only hurt me… soo I have maintained a distance now
I had normal delivery, during my whole pregnancy I eat lot of fast food no exercise at all but before pregnancy I had lot of exercise yoga and healthy food also before pregnancy I had this condition called pcod and people use to say that it’s difficult to get pregnant when you have pcod but in my case I got pregnant without any medication.. Waiting for your baby to come .❤
