Actually, the extras in the video were mostly members of The Warning Army or friends of the band. Interestingly, this video came out during the pandemic and the extras were required to wear masks; however, some people thought the song was a statement about being required to wear masks (it wasn’t). 😎👍
Great breakdown as always. I see the “ninja” suited disciples as the anonymity of the internet. “Hate will always be a good friend when the sun goes down”. Spread the hate your fed behind the mask of a screen name. & Pau with a bullhorn…. 🤣
I discovered The Warning about a year ago, and their transformation has been so rewarding to watch. Their skills have improved, their confidence is strong and as much as I feel Error is their best so far, I think Keep Me Fed is going to put them over the top. The world is theirs for the taking, and they are taking it by storm.
There is a BTS video that includes a little of Dany recording the vocals for Disciple in the studio where she is wearing a bunny rabbit onesy complete with bunny ears on the hood. Made me chuckle thinking about the contrast with the video.
There is a Disciple "behind the scenes" video, and the production crew was indeed all wearing Covid masks. So maybe the "army" in the video was not only wearing them for aesthetic purposes for the video, but also protection when the pandemic was dying down, but everyone was still wearing masks. I actually like the last line "you shall remain in your space ... of ignorance." Kind of sums it up. Nice breakdown, as usual!
It's a great video. Yes, of course everyone thinks they better live, but they'd put a lot of work into the official music videos and they are always well done. This one complements the live versions because you're able to determine a little more of the meaning. The meaning of the lyrics can get a little diluted by the sheer power of their performance in this one and Evolve if you only watch a live performance. But anyway, great to see. The masks were required and I don't know if there was any intended symbolism, but if it works out that way could be a happy accident. Thanks
It never ceases to amaze me how much they accomplished on a small budget. The sisters, their family and their extended family and crew are tight and smart and jump levels of content quality by smart use of their money on each new release.
Glad your doing the videos to songs to. The new one that just dropped Automatic Sun is a live music video with studio audio. So best of both? Depends on your point of view. It's LOUD and I like it that way.
*Disciple* *Disciple* is one of their songs about social media and how it affects people in ways they don't even know... Dany (guitar) sings the part of the "leader"... Pau (drums) sings the part of a "follower", "disciple", or maybe "soldier"... basically they're speaking about how people take what they see on social media and believe it, whatever it is... in this way, certain groups out there control the narrative and what is happening... i believe this is a cynical song telling people to think for themselves and not believe everything they see or hear... the OMV for *Disciple* was shot during the pandemic, all the extras in the video are IRL The Warning Army members... the wearing of the various masks works for the video as well as acknowledging the pandemic being a thing at the time of recording the video... there is the dichotomy of the masks, themselves... the "disciples/soldiers" wearing just cloth mouth and nose masks while the higher ranked overseers are wearing full face filter masks... and then we have DPA/TW playing the upper echelon, the untouchables, with no masks at all... this ranked depiction of status makes a huge statement about social media in addition to what is already being said in the song... *XXI Century Blood* , *Z* , and *Kool-Aid Kids* are three other original DPA/TW songs that also speak about social media... the 1st one, XXICB, has an OMV that tells a story... it and the director were nominated for (and won?) several awards when it was released in 2017 when Dany was 17, Pau was 15, and Ale was 12 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
Although I'm not at all crazy to call backs to the pandemic, the masks absolutely were an unavoidable requirement. That said I very much got a Batman League of Shadows vibe from that so it works for me. The video is fantastic and proof positive that sure their live records are stellar, their OMVs are not to be missed!
My take on it is so many people are blindly following podcasters or agenda-based news outlets because it gets them fired up and gives them targets for their frustrations and daily struggles. Who can we blame..... who can we follow..... Also, the live concert for the album is more straight-forward rock, but the album cuts seem to have a more funky groove to them. (Thanks Ale) ❤ Good hear both in comparison.
Oh also: “The sun is your enemy today…. Until midnight tonight, when it becomes….. AUTOMATIC 😉
😂😂🤣🤣
The live official is soooooooooooooo good! ( I live in Aus so we have just seen it)
I see what you did there!!
Best and heaviest pop song I've heard so far (Automatic Sun). Redefining that genre. Can't wait for their next concert - still 12 days to go ;-)

& Pau with a bullhorn…. 🤣
This was my most favorite song ever of theirs... Well, until the next one I heard. 😂

THIS WAS THE FIRST VIDEO I WATCHED FROM THEM, ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO. I WAS HOOKED ! GOOD REACTION ZACK. TILL NEXT TIME ...

I think that was a Narwhal costume, it was a horn, not bunny ears. Unless there is a second video.
@@ESCGelfling Oh yeah. Could be. After I saw the first time I couldn't find it again.

The Warning always do everything 100%, their music videos are always stunning!
This song and video is how I enlisted in The Warning Army.

Its believing what you read on social media!

Thank you, Great as always
Only 8 Days left until I see them live in Munich, Germany
hahhaha and yes , those army in the video are literally the warning army
Pau has said that she looks to Ale for the timing frequently.

What were the odds to release both Desciple and Automatic Sun.
