    Thank you. I'm relatively new to scroll sawing and appreciate your instruction. Am also amazed at how easily you were able to do the scroll work using a straight blade. Well done.

      Hi Sherwood, great to hear from you. Delighted to hear that the video was useful. I prefer working with reverse tooth blades and my favourite blade is the Niqua speed number 9 reverse tooth blade. Pegas and flying dutchman also make the same blade.

    I was listening the whole time, but I cannot lie, I liked the way you cut that piece. Well done on both ends, the cutting and the oral explanations provided Dai.

      Hope it proves useful. It took a few goes at doing the voice over on that one, so hopefully it gives an insight into the process and method we use for cutting out on the scroll saw.

    when i was young, my brother used to do something extremely similar to this but the tool was hand-held. Do you by chance know what it is called and/or do you have any videos of this craft being done with the hand-held tool? i know the name of the tool in my language - maltese - but definitely not in english nor did i come across videos using it... He was a boy at the time and many boys used to do it - we didn't have tablets or video games back then!!!! (video games had just started and nobody could afford them so children did crafts. Boys with wood, girls with knitting! 30 years ago...)

      A Coping saw or fret saw would be two hand tools that would allow you to do a similar job. Thanks for getting in touch, all the very best from us all. 👍

      @@DailovespoonsThomas thank you for that. YES!!! That is it, the second one: coping saw!!! ruclips.net/video/SmO3P-97z8o/видео.html - in the video it is not the tool my brother used but it is hand held too. They don't teach this in malta any more and i wish they did. (It would be a good craft to teach to prisoners and they could pass time doing something useful and beautiful!)

    Hi guys! My nome is Francisco Rääts and Im from Brasil and I'm 60yo and a woodworking for more than 40 years but new on scroll saw, could you help me with a question? How the best height or position to work with my scroll saw? Congratulations for your amazing work, and excuse me my poor English. Big hugs to all

    • @DailovespoonsThomas
      @DailovespoonsThomas  Год назад

      Hi Riccelli, great to hear from you and thank you for your kind words. Your English is very good too. When it comes to the height of the machine we like to have it around elbow height when seated. Personal preference does play a part too. For example I prefer to be closer to the machine and use a lower chair. My father prefers to be higher up so uses a bar stool height seat, as he finds this more comfortable.
      Hope that helps and gives a little more insight. Thanks for supporting our RUclips channel. All the very best from us all. 👍👍

    What's the thing that was vacuuming the dust called?

    • @DailovespoonsThomas
      @DailovespoonsThomas  Год назад

      With the Hegner scroll saw you have the blower at the top that keeps the line of sight clear as you are cutting. You also have the option of attaching a dust extractor to the machine to collect the sawdust.

    My saw only use pin end blades. Does anybody make a round blade oin end?

    • @DailovespoonsThomas
      @DailovespoonsThomas  Год назад

      Hi Samuel, thanks for getting in touch. I use pinless blades myself. So not as familiar with the options that are available when it comes to pin end blades. Most of what is available for pinless blades is available in a pin end version too. Olson, pegas and record all make pin end blades so might be worth a look for what you want in their ranges.

    How much cost the machine?

    • @DailovespoonsThomas
      @DailovespoonsThomas  2 года назад +1

      Hi again, great to hear from you. The scroll saw we use is a Hegner Multicut 2s. To buy it new costs between £800-1200. However, you can often find them on ebay for between £250-500 second hand. You can contact Hegner for any spares required too.
      We have 2 of them here at our family workshop in daily use. They both work perfectly after being in daily use for 20+ years.
