In late '66 brother bought a new 67' Moss Green GT500 from Marv Tonkin Ford in Portland, OR.
He went into the service shortly thereafter and left the car with my parents who let me use the car, I was 16 at the time and had they known how fast it was they probably would not have let me drive it, I really enjoyed it but quickly found out how dangerous it could be with brakes that would heat up fast and fade out, but nonetheless, it was that thrill of my life, I will never forget driving that car, I remember the incredible power and torque that would literally glue you to the seat! That was the start of me being a lifelong Mustang fan, shortly thereafter I bought a used 67' GT fastback that I drove through HS, I now have a 2020 GT that I really enjoy.
Thanks for posting the video it brought back some really great memories!
Hi dale, thanks for the story
My father had a chance to buy a low mileage Shelby like this for $900 during the Oil Embargo of 1973. The owner lost his license & needed Cash. It was sold before my dad could return.
Probably one of the best POV videos on a shelby I have ever seen! At one point i could feel my heart racing as you accelerated. I hope you make more videos
Crazy how even though this is an older mustang you can still tell its a mustang by the sound of the exhaust.
Car of my dreams cruising my old neighborhood, what a treat, glad I found your page
I want one so bad ❤
Awesome…
I love how unresponsive and loose the steering wheel is. Two hands on the wheel the whole time and constantly moving it back and forth. Turning it half way before the car even starts to turn into the bends. 😂 I remember those days!
Love this video. Had to say it. Watched it a lot
Sounds awesome. Sweet music.
I recognize NE Portland!
Sweet Shelby!!!❤Please check out my 1968 Barracuda fastback powered by a rowdy 512 stroker backed by an A833 4 speed manual. I think you'll approve. 👌
What a beautiful boat =). Haha seriously, people see that car and forget how horrid the handling was, and or the handling when its going above 85mph lol.
😎
