Great info, I try to find the local food when I can. When I was in Bali the local authentic street food was phenomenal and quite cheap but I didn’t find it until a few weeks of being on the island (and eating overpriced and mediocre tourist food).
@@20_melkisedekalbertdaniel45 that is not true there is very good local cuisine in Bali. Very delicious and cheap, its just a bit off the beaten path. Most tourists aren’t familiar with it as I wasn’t the first few weeks there.
When I was in Indo those little warung in Jakarta could be really good, but I always had to look at the cook's hands very closely, soap was taxed heavily and it's common that lower income people didn't have much if at all, and long nails could be considered fashionable, long dirty nails meant move on.
There's definately good street food in Bali. I've seen local dishes going for around $1AUD or even less. You have to leave Kuta and all the tourist traps to find it, but even Kuta has cheap food (the local vendors also need somewhere to eat, you know 😛)
the one time i ate in an 'authentic' local restaurant in bali was on a mountain, on the way to a dive spot on the eastern side of the island. silly me got chicken fried rice - i have never been so sick in my life! that chicken must have had something wrong with it for sure. vegetarians would have less problems, but man it turned me off street food.
Your videos Karl, give a whole different insight into India, Pakistan & Nepal. Sadly, Westerners who come from parts of the world you & I are from, are only aware of the tourist traps & miss the authentic people, the real people, who make the places around the world so unique. I wonder how many of your videos have helped businesses you visit profit well from increased business. Enjoy all the food, because food puts a smile on our face & a hug in our stomachs.

Good tip on avoiding touts! When I visit Asian countries I look for a line of local people outside the restaurant. If locals are waiting to get in, I can always count on delicious local fare at a great price.
Yes and we noticed in Malaysia that if a Malay restaurant like Satay Kajang for example has many non Malay customers it is good whereas here in Australia if an Asian restaurant, Indonesian, Malaysian, Indo-Pakistani, has customers from its own ethnic origin it's likely to be good.

I like that they have a sign in MANY different languages. That makes me think they are considerate and smart. Sometimes when you go to a restaurant its not the restaurant itself that is bad. Sometimes its just the employee who is trying to hustle, or just doesn't really give a fk or doesn't have the right outlook. I went back to a Chinese restaurant I haven't been to in about 10 years and it was under new ownership. The Chicken Balls were amazing this last time I went. Which caused me to go back lol. Before under the old ownership the chicken balls were terrible and you/we only got about 7-8 of them. This time or the same price, 20+ and amazing.

The people are definitely more friendly in Nepal..

@@indianfoodartists3579 Nice Joke ! Didn't made me laugh though
Great info, I try to find the local food when I can. When I was in Bali the local authentic street food was phenomenal and quite cheap but I didn’t find it until a few weeks of being on the island (and eating overpriced and mediocre tourist food).
Its not a thing in Bali
Such a cute, heart-warming, authentic and lovely restaurant. Looking at her making the food you just know it tasted amazing too!
omg Karl, I so envy you being in Nepal. Subha yatra - happy travels. I first visited in 1982 and I was about to visit again for the 9th time in 2020 but Covid prevented me. I so hope I can return in 2022.
There is one thing that I have noticed about you Karl... Your approach is so respectful and wholesome. Even when it comes to scammers and con artists, as much as you want to reveal the truth, you never dehumanise them. You just provide tips on how to avoid being duped, and don't try to emasculate them as people. I take my hat of to you sir!
Seems like you haven’t seen his exposing scammers videos.
@@subzero7953 I have seen some. He doesn't make them seem less human. Even his inflection whilst speaking to them is quite respectful. He doesn't sugar coat things though. That's why I respect him
@Aditya Sahoo If he was, he wouldn't have married an Indian woman and also learnt the Hindi language and spend so much time and money in India
@Aditya Sahoo Lol c'mon now. Karl obviously loves India, just because he shows what to look out for as a foreigner/tourist and expose scammers doesnt make him anti-Indian.
He does dehumanise the scamming rats
Nepalese food looks delicious! I like the fact there is home style vegetarian food. Thank you for sharing! 🙏 Awesome! 🙂
thats not exactly nepalese u can find those food basically all around the indian subcontinent. but great food tho.

I've been a chef for so many years. I've learned, no matter your culture or your environment. Food is life. Good food is a happy life. Food is a universal language, and I love to enjoy every aspect of it. I would love nothing less than to spend a day or a week, cooking with these people that know what truly matters in life. We can certainly teach each other. I wish to run a food truck, so I can bring these ideas to people. Thank you for reigniting the passion I have for food.
Thank you for making videos about my country, It's culture and tradition, Diversity etc.
Wow such a Homely Feeling while Eating these Delicious Foods serves by Hospitable People !!
1st by seeing the thumbnail I thought that the place in it is a scam 🤪🤣 but after seeing the full video was amazed by the Family's Humbleness and the Home Made Food that u Ate !!
Hey Bhai, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I love that place
@@quattro4468 Uncalled for comment. Karl did tell you how to avoid the bad places, but he also demonstrated one of the good wholesome places. It's getting towards dinner time as I watch this and seeing their food made me hungry. Btw did you notice how many subscribers Karl has? He doesn't need clickbait.
I am from Kathmandu Nepal and a regular viewer of your youtube channel. Nice to see you in Nepal. I have been to many countries, still I find Nepal unique and lovely. It would be great to meet, show around places and share travel experiences.
I would like to share travel tips and recommendations to you for Nepal and would like to meet you. Please email me if you are interested to meet me. By the way, I am a Nepali engineer by profession and a traveller by interest. Since past 10 years I have travelled to almost all countries of Europe and some countries of Asia. I live in Nepal.
love to hear your translation, it is fluent. I'm so happy to hear that you describe a way of food cooked as well as a way to eat. thanks a lot for showing around. love you, bro.
It is amazing how you show us authentic food places in India/Pakistan/Nepal, places that a normal news outlet would not bother to do a special, yet you give these places a chance to be featured to the rest of the world through your channel. Karl Rock, you are a Rockstar!
Bro you can read nepali better than me 😂🤣 Loved the video. Miss my home even more. Can’t wait to visit soon.
Where are you from bro?
I live near the border in India, Biratnagar-Jogbani.
I'd have to agree... A smile like that would draw anyone in ... So warm and friendly
Hope to see you back in India Karl.....You have helped a lot of foreigners to be safe while visiting different places (around the World) and not just India....but I bet that you Now know how that pays back!
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK KARL.

This is the first time I've seen your channel. I really enjoyed the video and particularly liked the respect that you showed the family. I have been to Nepal on numerous occasions. The Nepalese are a most gracious and warm people who face adversity on a regular basis. Whatever country that we have the privilege to visit let's treat the citizens with similar respect.

What a lovely family, huge respect to Ramesh for doing his best to help out with his young family, wish them all the best and a bright future for them.
What does it take you to make it to 🇳🇵
What a beautiful family. The Nepalese are some of the warmest, friendliest people I've encountered. They really deserve more recognition.
Well I don't think that is true for a fairly new restaurant. I would have ppl outside trying to get ppl to come inside too. Now once ENOUGH ppl have tried your food, then it's all game, word of mouth will promote for you. I ate from this one restaurant and they were outside giving out samples, and Lord knows I am glad they did. One of my favorite restaurants til this day. Maybe they should do that instead of having a group of ppl outside trying to get you to come in. Let me have a taste test first! LOL! This is my 2nd time on your channel, I just came across it, the first time was right before this video, I watched your KKFC vs KFC video.
Great job karl You just promoted a simple breakfast shop (चिया पसल, खाजा घर). And one you have just noticed that wherever you go in Nepal, there is a smile in greeting. That's why Nepal is the happiest country. Small but extraordinary.

in our sinful nature, we’re nothing more than wretched, vile sinners in DIRE need of the Savior, but JESUS, the perfect and sinless Lamb of God, came into the world and took the punishment we deserved for our wicked sins and was raised from the dead three days after being buried so that we may have the opportunity of salvation, redemption, adoption, and reconciliation to the Heavenly Father. we ought to repent and believe in the Gospel of our LORD Jesus Christ; we must be born-again.

Awesome vid Karl! Happy new year and THIS is the year New Dehli gov realizes how good of a person you are so you can head back home.
Loved your Vlog !!

How amazed was the Nepali women when you were reading Hindi in the beginning and decoding their language as well...Super human you are!
Nepali people seem so cute and smiley! I can't wait to visit and explore the pretty mountains and valleys!
So is Nepali a very similar language to Hindi that you were able to learn it very quickly?
They use the same script (so I can read it) and some words are very similar (like most on that sign). But I couldn't understand them when they speak Nepali. So I think it's quite different
Right
It's a Pahari language similar to the ones in Uttarakhand

Can you make a video on "Tourist Traps" in New Zealand? I thought you would make one while you were waiting out there all these days.
Tourism has been closed in NZ for 2-years now since the beginning of COVID (it's still closed). There's not much to cover in the way of tourist scams & traps. The Govt. pays you money if you don't have a job, so no need to go out and scam. I did make a travel safety video with Manisha around 3 years ago in Hindi advising Indian tourists on what to watch out for, so check that out.
