I own one of the og Molly in her debut outfit. My mom’s bff helped my parents get her for me for my birthday many years ago cause at that time she was my favorite AG. She’s now at number two while Samantha is my number one favorite because I like that while she tries to fit in with her time period, she still does things that girls at that point wouldn’t do like climbing trees and sticking gum into a bully’s hair. As the saying goes Samantha’s an icon and the moment. I also want to get the sporty twin since I grew up in the 90’s and she basically looks like me from when I was a kid.

My granny had a small tradition of getting my sister and I an American Girl doll for Christmas for a few years. I had Josephina, Felicity, and Kit (who was the newest doll at the time) and my sister got Molly, Kirsten, and Samantha. My cousin got Addy, so between us we had the entire set pre-Kaya. Unfortunately, the only doll know I still have is Felicity; I think Josephina and Kit were commandeered to Goodwill during one of the annual toy thins when I got older, but I’m not sure. I also have no idea what my sister and cousin did with their dolls. But Felicity is safe in storage for now, and I have no intention of getting rid of her anytime soon. She was always my favorite in the books.

i just restored my childhood gaty Isabelle doll so love the ag content its bringing good nostalgia :) i bought her this cute pink velour tracksuit from a 18 inch doll brand called "sophias" for like 20 for jacket and pants so honestly other 18 inch doll clothes are way better deal unless it's a licensed collab

I kinda wanna collect the mini versions of the dolls, they’re more affordable and I just like minis. Maybe you can try and get mini Nanea and Laya before getting the full size ❤
The Girl of the Years used to be only avaliable for a year, but in 2018 they still had some leftover and were still selling that Girl of the Year in 2019, it didnt happen in 2020 but then in 2021 it became the normal for the girl of the years. Which is kinda sad because it's not as special, but it is good to still be able to buy them later on.
She was one of the few AGs that caught my interest. That and the fact she had a little sister. I love when dolls have family members. (Well, when they are pre-established. I'm looking at you MH G2.)
Hiiiiiiiii! Have you heard about living dead dolls? I feel like you'd really like them. They are mainly from the 2000s/2010s and they are kinda creepy, but also cute. I've just discovered them recently and I feel like they're worth checking out
I’m personally a more historical gal, but man, I wonder if my childhood Samantha could wear the Harry Potter and Wicked outfits if I actually had American Girl money. Still mad the Columbus store literally just closed this year, I only went once and got nothing. 😢 Also, Jay on camera is odd but very beautiful. ❤
If I'm being honest some of us are confused about what is happening with the previous Gotys and what they are doing/ how long they last also A lot of people use these dolls for customs which is why some of them are basic. I have been to the American girl store and I am actually a collector.
Never liked baby dolls even as a kid. I had one that can with a spoon and it had berries on it that would disappear to seem like the doll ate it. I loved that thing 😂
Omg when I went to the la store it was kinda dead so I was the only person in the back section near the back cash registers and there was an employee literally 100% watching me and only me for an ENTIRE 5 minutes or so. So i get you

I do collect Monster High when I was younger and I’m thinking about collecting like the original like the creep production ones that they came out with again because I don’t have any originals. I was little when they came out with those. But I currently have 7 truly me, 3 girl of the years 1 contemporary Evette 3 historical, which are the twins and the Nanea recently got her a once upon a Child I was so excited she’s in really good condition Ps if your American girl brush ever breaks because they’re prone to doing that you can get a really good one and cheap one from target in the OG section and it comes with a spray bottle and it a lot cheaper I could tell you some more things about American girl, but I don’t want this comment to be two hours long 😅😅😅😂😂😂 🩷💙🩵💙
I have 13 thrifted ag dolls to fix this summer so more is definitely coming!!! Honestly I’m really surprised I’m starting my ag collection now, but I’m glad I am it seems ag is doing a rebrand for the historical which are my favs! :D

Sadly , the girl of the year is available for the year and beyond . Usually they last about 2 years until they are retired
