@@StevenBlakemore1994 it was a very active band of ringers. I must have been 12 or 13. Ringing chamber was always full on practice nights . Lovely ring of 10. Found this posting by accident and it brought back memories
you know the situation? May I ask where you ring at? yes you are absolutely right superb bells and a very historical tower! I actually don't live too far from Saint Paul's and I would love to able to ring here very week. Maybe one day I and others will be able to assemble all the bell ringers of Burton to show these bells some TLC.
There may well be a chance of getting Stretton and Winshill. But it depends on when they are rung again and whether if I am still in the town. I will try my best. I agree that there are a lot of nice churches in the town, most of which were 'brewery' churches.
They sound absolutely superb and a pity they can not be heard more often. Some great history as well!!
it would be nice if they were ringing like this weekly
I rang here 50+ years ago. A great big box to stand on for the tenor😂. Regular weekly practice nights back then.
The boxes are still there. No practice night unfortunately.

yes you are right it would! :-)
When did this happen, Steven? Who were the ringers? Is anything positive happening at St Paul's to get the bells regularly rung?
I am limited to what I can say here. So I will message you John.
