If having a record of the world quest and everything is what you wanted, there are videos like this out there: ruclips.net/video/GYAkne9UQdA/видео.html
I think that the history of Tsurumi Island is basically like this: 1. Thousands of years ago back during the Archon war, there was still civilization there up until sometime after the Archon war ended, the proof being the existence of the statue of the 1st Electro Archon herself. 2. Fast forward to about 500 years ago or more, the Cataclysm occured and ruined the civilization in Tsurumi Island, the survivor of such disaster became the tribe that worshipped the Thunderbird. It was at this time as well that the Thunderbird arrived at Tsurumi Island and somehow made the island became shrouded with thick fogs. 3. Sometime later, the tribesmen killed Ruu, Thunderbird got mad then killed everyone there, and proceed to go on a rampage in Seirai Island, and finally ended up gotten killed by Raiden herself in there. 4. Ever since then, Ruu has continuously trapped in a loop caused by the Thunderbird's rage, and was finally freed by the Traveler in present times. That's what I think, can't guarantee if it's true and/or correct, haha.
Yeah I think the bird took refuge after the war on that island but as is said, it didn't care about the people who were already there. Till Ruu's song. After that the bird created the fog so the people could be safe from the aftermath of the war. But then they killed the boy and the bird must've said "what the hell, I'm protecting this barbaric people capable of killing a Child" and ended all and move out with the anger and pain inside not only from the war but the death of that one creature that showed the bird something good about the world. Maybe its last hope of living in peace.
Ruu said he lived 4000 years ago, and the Thunderbird was almost certainly already dead by the time of the catastrophe in Khaenri'ah, as the Thunder Manifestation was unleashed and destroyed Serai Island shortly after. The thick fogs were apparently caused by a strange object that fell from the heavens, which could either be something from Celestia, as seen in Dragonspine, or a piece of a constellation, like in the Unreconciled Stars event. This is also what started the "ceremonies" where they'd collect the feathers and then sacrifice someone, so I have to wonder: did Celestia want them to die? Or was their fate simply written in the stars?
man, the whole island gives me creepy vibes all the time, and most notably the ceremonial site, it's really weird idk, looks like the weird shaped rocks are trying to say something but I couldn't grasp
It's indeed felt very spiritual, kinda the same vibe with Stonehenge or that nazca lines. Very old and felt profound but you couldn't really grasp what
It could be that Ruu and the others are trapped spirits and considering with Hu Tao will be featured on next banner she may be in a quest to come to inazuma to do some work in that island to pass them over.
Yeah, and all tsurumi citizen have dagger (makiri) in their hilt , including the current Kama. Ainu influence is pretty heavy here. All the names used, environmental design (on the surface, not including in the underground mural) and even the poem for the name card.
Tsurumi Island is indeed has that eerie feels. The fog, the unusual villagers, and especially the paintings, the large tree. Inazuma is indeed full of depressing stories 😬😩
Because of this, I think Sumeru will have many, I mean MANY emotional quests, by just hearing the word "Sumeru" since it's about nature, and well deforestation or something.
And this is proof that every nation will surely have place like this Modstandt/Liyue=Dragonspine Izanuma=Tsurumi Island This dragonspine and Tsurumi have similary 1. Murals 2. Is logo if you take a look at fallen temple in underground of tsurumi You can see little logo on side of fallen temple its also same logo in wall you can see in dragonspine Some people said its was same design on dainsleif This confirm surely Sumeru Fontaine Nathan and Snezhnaya will surely they have this kind of place.
For Liyue I'm sure it's gonna be the Chasm since I've read a lot that it would be like a Dragonspine-like place for Liyue, from what is known, it's a place where a meteor fell and a lot of minerals began to form on it, so people mined there but it had to be closed but I don't remember exactly why, it was explained on the lore I think? But it was cuz it was too dangerous
The story about Poppers(sp?) really reminded me of the movie *How to train your Dragon* That said, nice digging! I get the impression here that Tsurumi Island is on the edge of the Dark Sea as well. The Fog here reminded me a lot of The Golden Apple Archipelago. A realm on the edge of the Dark Sea. The massive Dead Tree I can only assume was at one time a giant Irminsul Tree long sundered and that would fit with the ancient civilization and the Ruins beneath the island. It seems any place outside of the 7 kingdoms of the Archons experiences fluctuations in the leylines that causes time to be experienced differently. Now to decipher the writing on the murals. Gotta love the similarities to Sal Vindagnyr here. Also, isn't it strange that the ruins existed before the inhabitants and Ruu specifically mentions that the Hilichurls showed up later. It's also odd to find the Hilichurls sleeping on the ground at times unable to interact with them. Almost like we aren't really there ourselves. Such a Great ghost story! One final mention, I'm surprised you left out meeting Roald, that was the biggest lore connection in this questline I thought.
You can see hilichurls lying around at a tiny part of one of the first 3 islands of Inazuma(sorry I can't remember well I found them around the first days of 2.0), there's a Kairagi and a common chest there I think? The ones here(in Tsurumi) reminded me to those, and the ones in Tsurumi were EXACTLY where those abyss-wolves were, they quite look like they would be dead ngl especially with them being around other monsters who will very actively jump at the player's throat as well.. elemental sight doesn't shows these hilichurls' monster-names either they are just... being there with their shields and weapons lying around Also I was quite suprised by Roald as well
After finding what they did to kid. I was horrified by the cruelty of the tribe, even by normal standard. The child is innocent nevertheless. He doesn't deserve to die...
When i logged in yesterday I just turnt out everything except the music and just stand there doing nothing and listening to the music it's just so good
Spoiler warning! Ruu, from what I guess after finishing the quest, is probably part of the regret from the thunderbird curse that it cast upon the island after the boy is sacrificed and their promise unkept. (Just like kazari, who is actually the remnants from what kitsune saiguu left behind together with the miasma.) The whole quest is basically the lore from thundering fury, but why it keeps repeating for millennia is probably because of the curse from thunderbird, I mean if you managed to read the dialogue during the last part where you have to fight thunder manifestation (thunderbird power and memory remain), Kapatcir dialogue is filled with anger towards the tribe and ceremony after he found Ruu is sacrificed and the goblet is filled with its friend blood. I only managed to read the last part where kapatcir put a curse on the tribe and entire island (which is the leyline disorder we're experiencing currently). In this quest, We're basically tasked to stop the ceremony and amend the unkept promise of Ruu and Kapatcir, to be able to end the curse. As that is the only regret from kapatcir, which is also the cause of kapatcir's anger and the end of the ancient tribe.
Every times this quest is link with other lore from books or artifact it just make me goosebumps and excited. Still not forgotten about shitty anniversary reward thou
What do you guys think about the Thunderbird being connected in some way to the "four winds"? First there is the artefact set with the backstory. So far we got the sets for(possibly) Anemo/Dvalin, Cryo/Boreas, and well the bird with an obvious connection. So there might be a chance for a Hydro lion some time in the story. Second, at a part in the quest on Tsurumi island the bird says to Ruu "[...]and the melodies sung by the green flying dragon of the far north.", which suggests that the bird might know Dvalin. But if this theory was true the bird might be a falcon so idk. Just thought this was a nice theory.

One of the noises you get when summoning Oz is a red-tailed hawk cry, usually used in TV and Cinema to represent eagle noises (because people think the little squeeks eagles make are to cute and not majestic enough I guess), and the Native American Thunderbird is generally depicted as an Eagle if not explicitly so. Honestly Oz looks almost nothing like a Raven besides size and colour, looking more like a cross between an eagle and owl, and of course he matches up with the thunderbird statues. I never thought Oz was a manifestation of Fishl's vision, more that he was just playing the role much like Fishl herself is.
I could really understand this quest just after I finished it, it got pretty annoying but when I reached the part of Ruu singing I realized how deep and dark it really is, I wish it had actual voice lines, the story is too good and too important to just leave it as another tricky world quest, and above all THE SCORE OF THAT ISLAND, best music out of all the themes in genshin.

holy hell the lore dump in 2.2, tsurumi island is THE most bizzare locations in Genshin as of now tbh its interesting, captivating, entertaining all the while keeping it eerie. i wonder what the ruins mean, why are there Sal Vindagnyr ruins AND Khaenri'ah ruin murals in Shirikoro Peak? was there a Khaenri'ah-n civilization living in Tsurumi Island before the catastrophe? its so interesting oh and theres latin text (printed on walls as the abyssal characters) on the walls i really think this island is connected to the Abyss' origins and may as well explain how and why everything, like the cataclysm happened when the travelers came into this world

Celestia is shown there as something far, unknown divine thing. They wouldn't depict Celestia in the sky as something far and unfamiliar/strange if ti would belong to them from the beginning, also it's the exact same silhouette what you can see in Dragonspine except the two "shapes" are mirrored to each other. It's most likely a civilization way before the "Thunderbird tribe", from the same age as the one in Dragonspine. They both used the same motifs, building style and the mechanisms were also a bit similar (with the fact in mind that Inazuma has the new types due to the developers). Also here was a timetrial challenge what contained a Ruin Grader what we only saw in Dragonspine before. What's for sure is this civilization had to exist before the thunderbird-tribe since they still saw the sky and Celestia, the tribe who worshipped the thunderbird never saw the sky because of the fog and Ruu would mention an other civilization rising and falling on his watch if it would happen, but due to the fog never left after their incident, it wouldn't match up anyways. Gosh I'm more and more curious about these ruins
Literally dragonspine story told you a piece of the sky (celestia) fall on them and turned the verdant mountaim free of the wolf eternal blizzard into a infinite icestorm, its the same, they were on their own, living their beliefs but something happen and everyone die (the wanderimg traveller in dragonspine survive by not being there and the woman that was friend of ruu in that island escaped to mainland inazuma)
Despide how chore the game still is with the lack of meaningfull content for a year, Tsurumi is giving at least little glimpse of decent content and make us feels statisfied to re explore the area over and over, probaly for 7 days but it's still a welcome one

anyways if theres a quest i wouldnt want to end it'll be this one. i wish i recorded it though. too late to start now unfortunately. i think it'll either finish on the 5th day or the 7th like some of the other time gated quests.
edit: keep trying to add this in naturally but anyway that last part with Ruu in day 4? yeah i felt my heart wrench.
If having a record of the world quest and everything is what you wanted, there are videos like this out there: ruclips.net/video/GYAkne9UQdA/видео.html
this quest beats the Kazari quest for me...honestly so sad and such a true story...i feel sad for the bird and especially for ruu
I think we are getting closer to enkonomiya because the fog and the sea does not allow light to pass
all genshin world quest is savage....
when i read the boy thay play hide and seek and seeing graveyard near his home
i just sorta cried
Same
I think that the history of Tsurumi Island is basically like this:
This story quest is deeper than the electro archon quest
man, the whole island gives me creepy vibes all the time, and most notably the ceremonial site, it's really weird idk, looks like the weird shaped rocks are trying to say something but I couldn't grasp
This quest is probably right up there with Kazari's quest, maybe even better.
it's also sad to me that ruu actually wanted to be a sacrifice thinking that it would actually please their deity
Well Kapatcir is basically the Ainu term for eagle, so there goes the owl theory XD
OMG I KNEW THE CHARACTERS HAD TI BE BASED ON THE AINU OMG THANK U FOR your comment
Crying rn cuz I didn't expect that Ruu was dead all along. First time crying in Genshin cuz even Teppei's death never bothered me
Same here, Ruu's death however was really really fucked up. He did not deserved that and neither did the Katpacir.
And how he’s basically trapped on the island forever even after we helped him
@@kendall.111. HUH NO WAY- THATS FUCKING TRAGIC
It's just so mind blowing how we had this lore in the game since the start and now we get to live it and get more insight on it
Bruh that's so sad the bird was attached to the boy :(
Because of this, I think Sumeru will have many, I mean MANY emotional quests, by just hearing the word "Sumeru" since it's about nature, and well deforestation or something.
And this is proof that every nation will surely have place like this
Modstandt/Liyue=Dragonspine
Izanuma=Tsurumi Island
This dragonspine and Tsurumi have similary
1. Murals
2. Is logo if you take a look at fallen temple in underground of tsurumi
You can see little logo on side of fallen temple its also same logo in wall you can see in dragonspine
Some people said its was same design on dainsleif
This confirm surely
Sumeru Fontaine Nathan and Snezhnaya will surely they have this kind of place.
Probably there’ll be an older civilizations in each nations that can be related to Celestia’s pasts or Khaenri’ah.
Tho I haven't got enough with Tsurami but after reading your comment I can't wait for those places to come out so I can explore em!!
i mean , i wouldn’t say that dragonspine is connected to liyue , but perhaps the chasm is ?
@@ragnvindr.3059 yeah, the chasm wasn’t released yet…
The ones here(in Tsurumi) reminded me to those, and the ones in Tsurumi were EXACTLY where those abyss-wolves were, they quite look like they would be dead ngl especially with them being around other monsters who will very actively jump at the player's throat as well.. elemental sight doesn't shows these hilichurls' monster-names either they are just... being there with their shields and weapons lying around
Also I was quite suprised by Roald as well
Those hound enemies killed the hilichurls. The design seems to represent “corruption” similar to what we saw in Dragonspine with Albedo’s quest.
After finding what they did to kid. I was horrified by the cruelty of the tribe, even by normal standard. The child is innocent nevertheless. He doesn't deserve to die...
the lore is absolutely amazing man
You're amazing! I'm excited for your rerun!
Too bad it turns into shit since it isn't properly executed in the story
I blame the 6 weeks release schedule. It makes things complicated.
When i logged in yesterday I just turnt out everything except the music and just stand there doing nothing and listening to the music it's just so good
This quest almost topped Kazari quest as the best quest in Inazuma
yesss i need a compiled version of tsurumi lore i cant get much of it at all
Spoiler warning!
Ruu, from what I guess after finishing the quest, is probably part of the regret from the thunderbird curse that it cast upon the island after the boy is sacrificed and their promise unkept. (Just like kazari, who is actually the remnants from what kitsune saiguu left behind together with the miasma.)
The whole quest is basically the lore from thundering fury, but why it keeps repeating for millennia is probably because of the curse from thunderbird, I mean if you managed to read the dialogue during the last part where you have to fight thunder manifestation (thunderbird power and memory remain), Kapatcir dialogue is filled with anger towards the tribe and ceremony after he found Ruu is sacrificed and the goblet is filled with its friend blood.
Thunderbird is she
This quest gave me chills. Even the soundtrack is mysterious
I've really got shiver when I already knew that they're all dead
Every times this quest is link with other lore from books or artifact it just make me goosebumps and excited.
Still not forgotten about shitty anniversary reward thou
I'm getting goosebumps as I look at everything that's happened everywhere in Teyvat and these other lands.
Bruh, they literally gave us a concert, as someone who apreaciates this game and its art I can't complain
This is abit old,but the falcon and the lion are both Venessa
I hope you cover up that scary water hole in watatsumi island
it's the prison for the sea monster that orobaxi defeated
Dragon of the depths? Right?
@@Teyvationary I don't know the name, but it has something related with the "moon-bathed deep" world quest
@@Laaras_Channel after everyone getting disapoint that baal oni friend wont be fightable, then is pretty much confirmed watatsumi sealed monster is the other inazuma super boss, because dont think they will make more than 2 superboss per country
@@angelmoreno3576 ah I see, thank you
This is probably the one and only area of the game that has fascinated me so much to know about it, do its quests and just find out what happened in this place. I hope one day we will get an exclusive event where we will go to Tsurami Island with some playable characters.
They should make a voice line for every quest in-game... In my opinion it would be much more enjoyable
I loved every second of these quests
man you vids are so good you deserve more subs
Me thinking we were gonna see Fischl cause the lady that talks to us before we go to tsurumi island mentions her and the statues reminds me of Oz 🤡🤡
One of the first non voiced side quests I didn't mash the space bar through. It kept me hooked
when i finish the last quest, it made me sad n got me sniffles
A MA ZIN G !!!!! Editing, scripting, research… everything to perfection!!! Incredible
that thunderbird (zapdos) really made my day 😂
One of the noises you get when summoning Oz is a red-tailed hawk cry, usually used in TV and Cinema to represent eagle noises (because people think the little squeeks eagles make are to cute and not majestic enough I guess), and the Native American Thunderbird is generally depicted as an Eagle if not explicitly so.
Let’s take a moment to appreciate that if all of the points you summarised were true, then Mihoyo did so much digging to come up with this lore for us
I remember 4 wall pictures in the shrine.
Ruu: The Thunderbird is my friend!
Me, who has been murdering the Thunderbird several times a day to raise Ei: Ehe~
That's just a remenant though, the leftovers after the god was killed. Since the shrine was abandoned it stopped being suppressed.
Thanks for going over this quest! Since it wasn’t VAed I didn’t pay much attention
I could really understand this quest just after I finished it, it got pretty annoying but when I reached the part of Ruu singing I realized how deep and dark it really is, I wish it had actual voice lines, the story is too good and too important to just leave it as another tricky world quest, and above all THE SCORE OF THAT ISLAND, best music out of all the themes in genshin.
too bad world quests like these doesn't have voice overs. It would've been great.
I haven’t done the quest yet, being pre-farming in my 2 accounts, but this is making me very excited to play through it!
hmm, regarding the Ars Goetia name of the thunderbird,it could either be Malphas or Raum, both have bird like forms
Is this the bird who fought baal in the trailer?
@@avrhamcom yep, Its also responsible for the current state of both Seirai and Tsurumi island,Seirai being enveloped in a constant thunderstorm and Tsurumi being in a Timeloop surrounded by fog
@@justincross2212 im still curious about neko, the inmortal cat that can talk and how he can do it
@@_Tao__ Neko is very mysterious, but according to the quest Asase shrine was built to supress the Thunderbird, so she may have a hand in that
@@_Tao__ I read somewhere that neko's story is in thundering pulse (and some other weapon I forgot) it's more of a story of hibiki and domeki, the people neko always mentioned. Ako domeki's ship is seiraimaru that got stranded in the island and hibiki was a head priestess of the main shrine and then moved to asase
Oh yeah, it reminds me. Why is Ruu still alive even though he was used as an offering to Kapatcir thousands of years ago? Plus he wasn’t affected by the timeloop?
He's alr dead, sadly who was with us this entire time is just a piece of him tapped into kapatchir's feather, he cant go out of the timeloop till he fullfil his promise to sing. He asked us to always bring the feather on our journey bcs that would mean he & kapatchir tag along too
i love your videos never stop making them
All about this fog just reminds me of persona 4 golden, and that maushiro is similiar to marie's comb too
using zapdos as the thunderbird is perfect lmao
Where im the only one think The Thunder Bird was OZ at first ? Or just Me.
glad to see im the only one who got the kino's journey reference
context:
kino's journey is basically an anthology of Kino and hermes' travels in peculiar countries with specific rules/trends. Kino's only consistent rule is that they must only stay at the country for 3 days and will not interfere with anything unless they're directly in danger.
If you like short stories and digestible lore, please watch it (specifically the 2003 ver)
Seirai Island OST is really sad and the place itself gives me gloomy vibes and i wonder why, can you please make a lore video about Seirai Island :?
The thunder bird abandoned his prince and went to his princess fischl
I just discovered this channel. Since I am too lazy to learn the Teyvat lore myself, I'll just watch this channel.
The most exhausting quest and the devs didn't get enough, they made us cry at the end of the quest.
Woah impressive! Please do more!
holy hell the lore dump in 2.2, tsurumi island is THE most bizzare locations in Genshin as of now tbh
its interesting, captivating, entertaining all the while keeping it eerie. i wonder what the ruins mean, why are there Sal Vindagnyr ruins AND Khaenri'ah ruin murals in Shirikoro Peak? was there a Khaenri'ah-n civilization living in Tsurumi Island before the catastrophe? its so interesting
oh and theres latin text (printed on walls as the abyssal characters) on the walls
i really think this island is connected to the Abyss' origins and may as well explain how and why everything, like the cataclysm happened when the travelers came into this world
U need to play Honkai Impact
And try seeing the various connection theories that Honkai Impact has with Genshin Impact.
I think you will absolutely love that.
I can't believe that put that much work and effort in to this release and complete left out Voice overs for the characters. That just seems lazy to me. I Subbed and Belled, Thanks so much for you vid. JL
There is a place with dead hillichurls In the mist, and its so creepy and sad at the same time
Inazuma world quest just hit different
I'm on Day 3 on the Tsurumi Island quest and right now all I wanna do is sell Paimon for Mora. Sure Paimon let's destroy the Perches that keep the Thunderbird and our buddy Ruu happy what could possibly go wrong?!
best world quest ive ever played. 9/10 (would be 10/10 only if those damn wolves and that electro oceanid wouldnt appear)
What's more mysterious is how to this day, I still haven't gotten a single electro dmg thundering fury goblet -_-
I hate the fog gimmick and exploring this was a pain but interesting. Lore wise it was interesting and it had a great story.
I wish the story was voiced but oh well.
I still like tsurumi island but my favorite is the lighting island.
this quest is intsresting but so stressfulling too
bruh deadass thought you were an actual VA narating the playscene and was abt to skip it ( cuz i thought it was a cutscene I've already watched in genshin )T __ T your story telling is amazing!
Fun fact! That the bird that Ei killed… I do wonder if we get her third story quest to visit that island…
And it's no coincidence that the thundering fury domain is in Mondstadt, cuz the thunderbird actually knows Dvalin
Inazuma. the region of the 5 Stages of Grief
Denial
Anger
Bargining
Depression
Acceptence
Also, will you talk about the same civilation (Eclipse Tribe) that lived in Drafgonspire taht also has murals below Tsurumi Island?
The most tragic history for now. Poor Ruu :(
It took me 4 days to make that salad
4DAYS
Me opening the mine
7 days
...Too mysterious. And spooky with the fog
idk if it was me but normally when we kill an hilichurl it disappears but in this island their dead bodies inside their huts was still their after they were dead... genshin is a horror game
i've been grinding the liyue world quests in the hopes of getting to inazuma and finally ascending sayu (first character i pulled) and thoma. now i'm finding out the mushrooms i need for thoma are on the LAST ISLAND?? i cannot take it anymore y'all i'm at my limit
Basically the quest is just us solving the aftermath of what happened in Thundering Fury's lore and put our protagonists to rest
Anyways, kudos for great content. This is an underrated channel
Passing gates is surely a zelda reference. Overtime I do it I always rember Zelda.
I think celestina was once on sturumi island base on one of the painting on the wall underground
