Full disclosure- I’m having a hard day. I’m a hospital worker. My spirits were so lifted to see a new video I could watch on lunch. Thank you, AJ and DFB Team, for all you do. ❤️
We went to Ohana last December. We loved the food especially the appetizers and dessert. We lucked out and got a fireworks view. My daughter(22 yo) declared it the most magical meal she’d ever had.
I love the ‘Ohana noodles! There is something about the sauce and noodle ratio that is a secret. Tried to make these at home several times, close but not as good as simple heaven served at the restaurant.
My Aunt and I went to Ohana for breakfast in 2018. It was my first time in Disney and I wanted to see Stitch. We had been staying off property so we drove to Ohana first thing just before the parks opened. Not only did we get a big meal with characters for $50 (which is hard to find at Disney) but we got to pass security because they had it at the hotel AND we left our car there and didn’t have to pay parking, which is $20 on it own. It was a great little hack that made breakfast there sooooo worth it.
I've wanted to eat at 'Ohana for decades and just a couple weeks ago my wish came true! My daughter got a last minute reservation and surprised me with a birthday dinner! It was amazing...loved everything! My only disappointment was that it felt very rushed especially because I am a slow eater. I understand they have a lot of people seat...just wish I could have relaxed a little more.
We too have the Ohana first night tradition, except we then go to Magic Kingdom to try to catch the fireworks and ride a few rides before close. Last visit, the fireworks started just as we tapped in. It was so amazing. Everyone got a little teary as we walked into the park.
I just went to Ohana today was an incredible experience. Haven't been to Disney in 20ish year this channel has been a huge life savor. Those noodles and the bread pudding 😍😍 amazing meal and loved the setting/view
Our tradition was to always go to Ohana on the last night of our holiday. Yummy food- such a special restaurant at night when the fireworks are about to begin. Haven’t been for a few years, but all I can remember is it being delicious
Hi AJ, love your vids! My wife and I have a set-in-stone tradition to start our Disney vacations. We stay in the Boardwalk Villas; on our first morning, we walk into Epcot at the International Gateway, head over to Les Halles at the French pavillion and have a heavenly breakfast. A breakfast sandwich for my wife and a baguette for me - avec cafe, s'il vous plait! We sit outside under a (hopefully) blue sky and just soak it in. Wonderful!
So I have written a program that checks to see when there are reservations and while you want to make your reservations early, I have found that within the last 48 hours a huge amount of reservations can become available and if you keep checking ‘fiddle faddle’ you might be able to snag a last minute reservation. It worked for our trip a month ago.
Everytime my family and I go to Disney, the first day we always go to Magic Kingdom and have Ohanas for dinner. It’s always my favorite! I’m going the last week of May with my boyfriend and his family and we’re going to Ohanas! It’s my favorite restaurant and I haven’t had it in 4 years! I cannot wait!!🥰
Went to DW during the week of Christmas 2021. Was resort hopping at Grand Floridian, took a chance and landed a reservation for Ohana for that afternoon. LUCKY US and SOOOO WORTH the price. I still hurt from eating so much
It took me months of checking reservations daily to get dinner at 'Ohana but the food was the highlight of my first Disneyworld vacation! 1000% worth it everyone!
Ohana is my family's favorite and two of us are vegetarians! The others eat plenty of meat but my son and I more than fill up on the noodles and other veg options. A win for everyone!
DVC Ray here...When I read these reviews and they say fatty steak as a negative I immediately know to disregard lol...seriously O'hana is a great meal and a great experience. We have had dinner about a dozen times, and breakfast several times and it is consistently good. It's a must-do every time we stay at the Poly.
Soooo you kinda just admitted you’re not open to any criticism towards the restaurant? I mean this in no offense, but you sound like the kinda person to immediately ignore the person that says “too much ip in the park” or “the parks are to expensive now” lol
DVC Ray here...Sure I'm open to criticism but I've always had great experiences at O'hana and unlike many on these threads, I"ve been there enough to evaluate it fairly.
@@NinthShinigami I'm very positive about Disney overall. @@dvcray4826 first of all, how come no “DVC Ray here”? (I actually love that you do that lol) and second I’ve been to Disney for 13 years of my so far 16 year life. I love 'Ohana!!! Always try the waitlist, we went in April, during spring break, and were able to get in twice on the waitlist. The first time less than 1 minute before I got the text our table was ready, second time was a Saturday at 5pm, when it was pouring and everyone left the parks. We waited 15 mins max for a table!
❤❤❤Thanks for this like really your giving me and my daughter some hope we can get in there during our spring break mother daughter trip. Everyone keeps saying it’s not gonna happen even if we are there before the restaurant opens😢
We got a reservation the day before our anniversary and we loved it!! So happy we were able to experience it but we did have slow service so I would say that is accurate!
Calling someone cousin feels so distant Dx I live in Hawaii and have never heard anyone call someone else cousin/cuz unless they are their cousins. People usually call each other sis, brah, or auntie and uncle. Sis and brah are usually used when calling out to a stranger. Auntie and uncle is basically anyone that’s significantly older than you even if they’re a stranger.
We ate there on the dining plan about a dozen years ago. So the cost was already built into our trip. I remember everyone in our party of 10 or 11 really enjoyed it.
Walk up reservations are definitely possible if you're happy to wait. Watched an Australian vlogger who was over there a few months ago, walk up and they said they'll text them when there's a table available and they were text within 30 minutes. They just walked up the day they wanted. Not sure if the fact they were staying at the Poly helped.
I was so confused by the title, I was like it can't be a negative obscene, AJ loves this place, her love of Ohana and the pulled pork fries at Flame Grill that she gets for her birthday (been watching a while obviously) created a disney youtube channel, probably, I suppose DW has other appeals somewhere.
If you feel rushed at Ohana nip it in the bud. When they start bringing the next course when you've barely started on the one you have give them a firm no. They'll look startled because nobody does it (except me) but they'll move on. You are in control and they depend on you being too polite to object when ironically they are anything but. I myself can't get past the fact they have ruined their great dessert by replacing the bananas foster topping with cheap supermarket caramel sauce. Oh to have the Ohana of 10 years ago where the food was excellent across the board, you were never rushed and service was impeccable. Instead of building that motel next door they should build another Ohana so as to double the capacity and return it to the quality it once had. But that might cut in on some top executive's multi million dollar yearly bonus.
We need Dole Whips for home. Some of us ain’t going back for an unknown time (since the parks management and all them guys in charge) and still want some of the snacks
The Poly is my fave resort because it reminds me of living in Hawaii in my previous life. But I do prefer the Kona Cafe because the Tonga Toast is so yummy and so much cheaper than Ohana for my picky eater kid.
Yeah, she was talking about the noods coming to her house. Too much lingo on this channel, in general. REALLY REALLY sick of hearing kids referred to as kiddos. I've been tracking it, the kids to kiddos ratio is about 1 : 25. Between "noods", "kiddos", "seven dorfs", "furmiliar", etc., sometimes I just have to turn off the video in the middle.
Send Noods🤣 I love that this is such a good, wholesome, family friendly channel that I don't think twice when AJ says to send Noods to her house! I love it! And I love all of your lingo including kiddos! Keep up the great work DFB team!
Our Family Tradition is to eat at O'Hana for breakfast on the day we leave. We never have table service so its a treat and we can take our time eating a hearty breakfast with out being rushed to get into a park :)
We had dinner at O'Hana's in 2014 and we absolutely loved it. We had a window side table and could see the fireworks over M.K. There was a lot of food left over, which greatly concerned my daughter. I thought she was going to cry, at the thought of all of that food going to waste. I asked our server about it and he assured us that Disney has contacts who pick up the untouched, uneaten food and disperses it to those who need it. I don't know about their policies since covid. Our favorite foods were the noodles and the pot stickers. ( We couldn't take food back to our room because of not really having a place to keep it, plus we had the full dining plan, so we wouldn't need leftovers. )
My tradition is to eat a leisurely snacky supper at Epcot, take the monorail to MK to watch the fireworks, take the bus back to the Boardwalk, and then go to Abracadabar and sit outside and enjoy the view and think "Yep. On vacation."
Garden Grill and Tusker House at least once a trip is a tradition for us. We prefer O'hana for breakfast (when they had characters) over the dinner (which was OK- overpriced and rushed and overall underwhelming for all the good press it gets).
I ate at Ohana for Dinner back on 6/15. I tasted some of everything, and it was GREAT. HOWEVER, I wish I never went to Disney in June for one thing. Even more so I wish I didn’t select Ohana. 6/15 it was SUPER hot, and that was SIMPLY too much heavy food. I barely ate. I sampled everything though. I felt incredibly guilty for wasting soooooo much food. I hate food waste. I definitely did NOT get my money worth at all. It was just my Daughter and I. Word to the wise try to book your Ohana reservation for your rest/resort day if at all possible. The service, Atmosphere, and music there was PHENOMENAL though. It also allowed me to see the Polynesian resort which is way out of my budget!
Let me tell ya, I was up and ready and found a reservation on my Birthday in June!! Even though it’s at 9PM, I quickly pressed the button to reserve it. The same was for Chef Mickeys too when my family visited me in February. Set your alarm early for this one😀😀😀!!
Speaking of family traditions at Disney my first visit every trip is the Joffrey's by Canada and fish and chips at the rose and crown that's vacation to me.
When I see the ridiculous cost of everything I know I'm on holiday and will spend the next year paying it off. Complaining about cost increases is my tradition.
It’s just insane to wake up at 5am just to TRY and make reservations for a restaurant that you can eat (and it be much better) elsewhere! How on earth does all of this stress and work when you make it to the park, the sheer cost, crowds and endless waits for EVERYTHING make for any type of an relaxing vacation? Why do so many keep on going here like it’s a drug you just can’t let go when there’s other places you can visit?
I still remember doing Ohana for breakfast on a solo trip- it was kind of funny to be a Lone Ranger at a table while everyone else was hanging with families, but a core memory of making silly scary faces with Stitch was worth every penny! Plus the waffles were DELISH!
Love this! I‘ve been in Orlando a few times for work and haven‘t tried Ohana yet because I wasn‘t sure what it would be like to dine alone at a place whose theme is family and family-style dining. Glad to hear that you enjoyed your solo experience. Was it weird in a bad way at all?
@@lautrufend I’ve been solo to nearly everything there is to do at WDW and it never has to feel awkward, especially when you’re in the vacation bubble. Who’s to say your group didn’t split up for some well needed alone time? No one even questions it. 😉
I won't go here currently that steak looks so disgusting and fatty..the cut is cheap .this dining experience is just made of low quality food...i feel there are better options to spend your money ..they get away with this because people can't get enough of this restaurant...great job team as always..
Ohana is basically on mine and my friend's bucket list. We did go for drinks at Polynesian once. Lamu Lamu I think it's called? We're going back to Boma Flavors of Africa this month. Finally able to snag reservations for that. Maybe Ohana someday next
Boma is so good! My husband liked it better than Ohana. Also, plan to try walk up early like 4pm. I had no problem getting in when we did it. It was a weeknight and not a holiday.
I loved Ohana without the characters. They don't need them. It made it more reasonable in price so we were able to eat there twice. Once for breakfast and once for dinner. Loved the food and loved the cheaper price without characters. If they just want to put a character in the hallway instead for people to stand in line to see; that's fine with me. And this way anyone could see a character without having to get a meal there.
My story and tip - we had the Ohana breakfast the day we went to Hollywood Studios, which was also the hottest day we were there -98 degrees! We love love love the breakfast. However, we were all so full and drowsy, we didnt really feel much like doing anything. While we made our Rise of the Resistance booking, it was really a wasted day. We headed back to the hotel for naps and pool time. Tip = have the breakfast in cool weather and as early as possible. We thought it might be better to have it on our departure day when we wouldn't be in the park as much. .
If you stay at DW and have the meal program, is eating at O'Hana's a part of the eating package? Can you skip two days of dinner meals and use that at O'Hana's?
My family and I ate there back in 2016. While it was very good, I probably would have liked it better had we not been exhausted from running the WDW Marathon earlier that day.
We have been coming here for years. Now, it just was not as good as it used to be. Our shrimp were so salty, and much smaller. nobody could eat them. The meat was not the same. The noodles were very good. But, for 55.00 a person, i can get noodles elsewhere. Cape Mae was so much better.
If I went, it would be by myself or with a super picky "adult." So I would probably just try for the lounge, tbh. That price point 😳... I would rather just try the "must haves" as part of an à la carte menu.
We are headed to WDW in July! We live in the Rocky Mountain West, so I had to be up at my computer at 3:45am this last week! We weren’t going for dinner, but breakfast, and we got it! Yay! We went for breakfast in hopes that characters might come before mid-July! Hopefully they will even add in someone playing Moana. In any case, characters or not we will enjoy (and need to find Stitch somewhere else since he is my kids’ and wife’s favorite!)
@@DFBGuide , I've been looking every single day since our reservation window opened up, and still look every day hoping someone MAYBE canceled. We were hoping to go for my birthday...nope... I'll just live vicariously through all the videos 🤣
Hoping to get a reservation for our arrival day- first time on a real trip to disney! So excited! Does anyone know if we want to go to Trader Sams for drinks after our meal (hoping for a 7ish reservation), should we get on the virtual queue before we eat?
FINALLY ate there today, it was incredible, we naturally got sat at the perfect seat that they show a dozen times in this video haha table for 2, right next to the window in front of the pool with the castle view. Unfortunately there was a hurricane today so no fireworks 😅 our server was perfection, the ukulele player made me tear up plucking classic Disney songs. And the food…the bread pudding is the best I have EVER had, that caramel sauce??? It is not too sweet it is packed with flavor and salty as well I was SHOOK. 2nd & 3rd place go to the potstickers & steak, respectively, even though our steak was a tiny bit overdone (they didn’t ask how we wanted it which was fine). I was a teeeeny tiny bit disappointed in the noodles, only because they’ve been soooo hyped up, but I still loved them! They were delicious. There was only 1 thing I did not like: the wings. The meat was perfect I just really wasn’t a fan of the sauce, too salty, but to be fair I’m not a big soy sauce fan and my husband loved the wings. Honorable mention, the crispy skin on the chicken 🤤 Edit: wow Dinner is now $60 only 6 months after this video 😂 geez Disney, nickle & dime
Visited Ohana for dinner on Sunday 10/15/2023 and it was NOT what we expected given the DFB hype. Was there tons of food? Yes. Was the food quality high enough to justify the price? No. Absolutely not. We are accustomed to paying high prices for great food, but this did not live up for our group. The noodles certainly did not hit the way that AJ described - somehow too sweet, lack of depth of flavor, and slightly overcooked. Some food items were great, but at $93 after 1 drink, tax and tip per person, not worth going again… DFB led us astray here and really made us question all of their other reviews. It seems like the reviews from DFB are in the context of Disney bubble and not compared to the reality of good restaurants in major US cities such as DALLAS for example…. Oh well. Lesson learned!
The "60 Days plus the length of your stay" did not work for me when I made reservations for my June trip. Is there some sort of special thing that I need to do?
My family and I are not big eaters. We never go to buffets or eat big meals because they typically aren’t worth it to us. It does look and sound fantastic. Probably gonna pass. Thanks for the info!!
The only thing that is obscene about 'Ohana is the price. Oh, and how they love to bum-rush you through a meal. Avoid until the full meat skewer service has returned. Disney is just taking advantage of people now (shocker, I know).
When I was there, I was stuffed after the apps. Could not eat the meats. It was a last minute res that was late at night. Yes, AJ, prepare and your appetite and stretch pants.
The current quality and experience do not compare to the pre pandemic restaurant. I will be waiting for it to improve before returning. No skewers shrimp quality and size was poor and the bread pudding is packy and not as flavorful plus no bananas in the caramel sauce.
Full disclosure- I’m having a hard day. I’m a hospital worker. My spirits were so lifted to see a new video I could watch on lunch. Thank you, AJ and DFB Team, for all you do. ❤️
Thanks for all you do. I hope you get good rest and tomorrows a better day. 💜

Can’t wait for this restaurant. We are doing breakfast and dinner there next week!!!
we got a last minute reservation for my birthday last week! i was so excited & it was the best!!
polynesian is my dream resort, of course they were fully booked 4 months ago when planning our next trip...
Ohana is my girlfriend and my favourite restaurant in Disney!! Whenever we go to Disney we always eat there at least twice.
AJ, this was always go to for consuming “beverages”. The Monorail is a safe ride.
Let me tell ya, I was up and ready and found a reservation on my Birthday in June!! Even though it’s at 9PM, I quickly pressed the button to reserve it. The same was for Chef Mickeys too when my family visited me in February. Set your alarm early for this one😀😀😀!!
I will be there in 2 weeks for my first Ohana visit on a Friday evening!!!
My most favorite restaurant ever! We're going next week and we have 5 reservations XD 3 dinner and 2 breakfast
Why do so many keep on going here like it’s a drug you just can’t let go when there’s other places you can visit?
its not that bad
Love ur videos
This is a great value when it was on the Disney dining plan, I think it was a one (1) credit meal.
We ate at Ohana once back
In the 90’s . It was so good
My trip is next week and my goal by the end is to see AT LEAST one reporter of yours!
@@lautrufend Not at all, I’ve been to multiple character restaurants with mixed results (CRT was very awkward) but Ohana was so friendly and fun!
I LOVE OHANA!!!! I had dinner there twice and breakfast!!!
I love what you do
I won't go here currently that steak looks so disgusting and fatty..the cut is cheap .this dining experience is just made of low quality food...i feel there are better options to spend your money ..they get away with this because people can't get enough of this restaurant...great job team as always..
Playing this in the background and suddenly hearing AJ say "Dreamworthy Nudes" then realizing she meant "noods" lol
Made me laugh too! 😂😂
😅
I loved Ohana without the characters. They don't need them. It made it more reasonable in price so we were able to eat there twice. Once for breakfast and once for dinner. Loved the food and loved the cheaper price without characters. If they just want to put a character in the hallway instead for people to stand in line to see; that's fine with me. And this way anyone could see a character without having to get a meal there.
We love Ohana we crave it!! Usually we get a walk up day that we are there we go a little too often 😂
One Day AJ I Would Like To Dine At Ohana At Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
My story and tip - we had the Ohana breakfast the day we went to Hollywood Studios, which was also the hottest day we were there -98 degrees! We love love love the breakfast. However, we were all so full and drowsy, we didnt really feel much like doing anything. While we made our Rise of the Resistance booking, it was really a wasted day. We headed back to the hotel for naps and pool time. Tip = have the breakfast in cool weather and as early as possible. We thought it might be better to have it on our departure day when we wouldn't be in the park as much.
.
Whats a better spot to watch mk fireworks, at O'Hana or the fireworks on mainstreet?
If you stay at DW and have the meal program, is eating at O'Hana's a part of the eating package? Can you skip two days of dinner meals and use that at O'Hana's?
For anyone who has had the plant based version of the dinner, what did you think about it? Are the noodles also plant based?
pc dev did a review a few weeks ago and he bc LOVED the plant based options!
How do you access the secret menu at tambo lounge that has the ohanna offerings?
We went for the Mickey waffles and will be back again and again for the POG juice!
Ohana’s plant based breakfast is good, I haven’t had the plant based dinner there yet.
My family and I ate there back in 2016. While it was very good, I probably would have liked it better had we not been exhausted from running the WDW Marathon earlier that day.
What about room service...do they still offer that 'feast' as a room service option?
I'm convinced that reservations for Ohana don't exist
👀
@@DFBGuide , I've been looking every single day since our reservation window opened up, and still look every day hoping someone MAYBE canceled. We were hoping to go for my birthday...nope... I'll just live vicariously through all the videos 🤣
@@DFBGuide can you do a review of all the buffet type restaurants in Disney please 🙏
Try for the under 24 hours cancelation window. 🤞 Or at least the lounge. Have a great birthday because at least you're at Disney.
Hoping to get a reservation for our arrival day- first time on a real trip to disney! So excited! Does anyone know if we want to go to Trader Sams for drinks after our meal (hoping for a 7ish reservation), should we get on the virtual queue before we eat?
AJ, you're amazing 👏❤
Honorable mention, the crispy skin on the chicken 🤤
Edit: wow Dinner is now $60 only 6 months after this video 😂 geez Disney, nickle & dime
I saw somewhere you can get some of the menu items at another place for cheaper.
We ate there in Jan 22 on our last trip and the food was good.
The "60 Days plus the length of your stay" did not work for me when I made reservations for my June trip.
Is there some sort of special thing that I need to do?
For me it’s always seeing the raiders stunt show at Hollywood studios
"HI I'm people!...lol 👋
I ate here a few months ago and it was 100% worth the hype.
It was a better value with the dining plan.
The best part about O'hana is the dessert.
O'what?
When I was there, I was stuffed after the apps. Could not eat the meats. It was a last minute res that was late at night. Yes, AJ, prepare and your appetite and stretch pants.
I think the pricing is reasonable for an all you care to eat meal.
Especially if the protein isn't limited.
Do you guys have the recipe for the noodles and wings? Checked the website and didn’t see anything.
Nevermind found recipe on a different website, thanks
The current quality and experience do not compare to the pre pandemic restaurant. I will be waiting for it to improve before returning. No skewers shrimp quality and size was poor and the bread pudding is packy and not as flavorful plus no bananas in the caramel sauce.
The shrimp sucked Mushy and poor flavor. The steak was tenderizer garbage fir for golden coral. It was disappointing.
I’ve never once seen it open at 5:45, more like 6 on the head.
Ohana noodles are overrated. I said what i said 🤷🏻♀️
Does anyone know if Disney has a Chat?
