Hey Brian, thanks for the great video. I much appreciate it. I'm about to buy a Black XSE with Red interior. So I got a question for you: I've heard that the front seats are terrible somehow, specially for long trips. Could you please bring up your thoughts about it? Thanks in advance.
Hey Fabio, it’s been so long that I don’t recall. However, if I didn’t complain about the seats, that means they were comfortable and supportive for me.
@@BrianMakse I live in Memphis; way too hot in the summer. Visited my daughter in Santa Monica and drove to Santa Barbara (about 2 hours north). 75°F and sunny every day. They've got the weather.
I think no one will be mad at you for recommending a Highlander. That engine and drivetrain will last for ever. Still, a huge part of getting a SUV is having a soft ride so not good to hear too many crashes come through. Is it class of the field? I take a Telluride or new Jeep Grand Cherokee L over this because ride and looks. Highlander is fine inside but that exterior is not my cup of tea with big grill and fender flares and all those body lines.
Friends who buy them on my recommendation certainly enjoy them. Telluride isn’t bad, either. We’ll never know about the new Jeep GC, so I can’t comment. I like the aesthetic of the Highlander for sure.
@@BrianMakse Retuned suspension, with a rear stabilizer bar….significantly flatter cornering than an XLE…after my own back to back drives. The difference was significant to me. Take ‘er hard in the corners. :).
@@trevorcathy you got me all curious and indeed you are correct. Specifically. XSE uses recalibrated dampers at the front and a different anti roll bar at the front. If anything, this would give the XSE a more positive nose with slightly better turn in response. I'm surprised they changed it at all tbh. All Highlanders have a rear anti roll bar.

That’s a decent idea! I can’t speak to reliability with any kind of specificity, but I can articulate how a thing drives!
I saw snow and got scared!
Great reco.
Nice review Brian. Definite improvement over the previous model. I still prefer the looks of the Explorer. It has a more masculine truck look to me.
Thanks, Mark! I’ve missed testing the Explorer, so I can’t comment beyond what I see on the way to mall parking lots!
Love my 2021 Highlander.

Kum & Go is headquartered here in Des Moines, Iowa, by the way.
You should see the looks I get whilst rocking this shirt in Toronto. Canadians haven’t a clue.
I liked the image of the car rolling down the highway with snow on the sides of the road. Is it still cold up there? (PS I lived in Ottawa for 12 yrs)
Yeah, it’s been a really long winter in Toronto. Why do you think I go to LA so often? 😎

I would like to see a highlander trd
I don’t see why not. They have room for a TRD trim for sure.
@@BrianMakse oh fo sho
How different in ride/handling is it from a platinum?
Identical.

It could be a comedy video where you keep switching cars and pretend like nothing is happening.
Oh, man. I don’t write or present funny.
