Filipinos are the friendliest, yet toughest people I have ever seen. They are awesome friends and super supportive colleagues. Hugs and respect from a Hungarian!
Very nice! But a little reminder for the Galley staff..store rooms are quite untidy..& a lot of food boxes laying down the store rooms floor..all food stocks shoul be keep 3-4 inches above the flooring..fresh & dry provision should be taken out from cardboard boxes..so the fresh foods can reach its proper temperature as fast as possible..also to keep the store away from foreign dirts, germs & insects coming from boxes..in my ships galley...all food stocks are being transfered to a transparent hard plastic boxes...for security, safety, sanitation & hygene purposes as required by shipping company and all different ships inspectors..
Nakakamiss mag barko. Pinapanood ko lang videos mo kong namimiss ko na mag barko. Pero masaya na ako sa work ko, my times nakakamiss lang experience sa barko masaya na malungot😊

Dear Ms Jy, Many thanks for your "Jys Journal" that is really nice. It looks that you love the sea. I keen on my work also same like you. Best regards, Capt. Manuel, from Canary Island, Spain.

Maybe you could tell your captain talked to the Philippines president Duarte to have the pilppinas arm forces to be on board of the cargo ship. Just in case of the pirates will tried to get on board.
I loved serving at Sea in British Army Landing Craft. Being fast bottom vessels, we bounced around a lot more. I broke my back on a weekend off from SAS Signals Selection in 03. I now live alone at 48. Laid up 99.9% of the time. So I enjoy watching ship videos. Helps me to see the way of life I miss. I was A deckhand then later Bosun on Landing Craft. But only small crews. I would love to be at sea again. Are you still aboard, or New ship yet. X
@@JysJournal Unfortunately my health is degenerative. So probably won't be able to. Thank you for replying. Wheres home, Philippines? Did you go to their prestigious Officer Merchant Marine school? X
Interesting! so what's your job on the ship? I was a sailor for 20 years and assigned to the engineering department. We get rotated every 3 years. There were no females onboard our ships, but they have changed those rules already.
Jy’s Journal No, what I mean is that we get to spend 3 years onboard the ship and 2-3 years on shore duty. We renew our contract every 4-6 years. We now have females onboard and received same training as their male counterpart. The training is 8-9 weeks. Like you, we visits many ports in or out the U.S. The difference is that we have military training. Thanks for your response

Hi, I work on cruise ships as retail staff. Do you think I can get an entry-level job on cargo ship that does not require specific degree? Perhaps office, kitchen help? Thank you very much.
Hi Joshua, in my case, having braces is not an issue during medical examination but my dentist would somehow fix my teeth so that they are locked together. and would not move before I join the vessel.
