Now that's what I call a proper UNBIASED and HONEST review. I have been contemplating for a long while to upgrade from my Middy i20 14.5m Pole. Mainly due to the lack of spares and extra's available. Also the fact that you have to drill and fit the Puller Bungs and cut the Tops back to fit the bushes is in my opinion no longer acceptable. I am currently looking at the X50 and the X70 with after your appraisal is swinging to the X70. I am so pleased by the info you gave regarding pro's and con's Joe. Thanks so much and keep up the video's. Cheers
Joe excellent vid. In many ways its breath of fresh air in that you've given your honest opinion on pole that you've had for some time and not influenced by employment or sponsorship issues. The fact that your keeping with it is a testament to the pole. I had the chance to waggle all the superium poles not long after they had been put on sale. My local tackle shop with the help of Will Freeman put on a Preston pole day. I myself bought the carp pole as my back up pole to my main pole an original MTX4 which I must say has been awsome in having landed Larford hippos and Bolingy units lol. /its going to be interesting to see what the next major development in pole design is going to be.
Nice to hear your comments Joe, I have the Spectron Competition, Spectron Power, and oridional Tourney pro. Use the power mostly but just like you don't think I could justify changing. These pole cover everything I want. Also have A MAP matchtek ultra used for canal fishing.
Had my heart set on an X70 mainly after watching your previous video on it. Went to a pole alley and ended up buying a G90. In my hands the G90 just felt slightly better also spares are easier to get for diawa poles. That was one of the main selling points. Not only that everyone I spoke to told me to get Daiwa
Hi Joe nice little video never had a Preston pole so can't comment on their performance but I a few of the lads that our open Sunday matches have Preston poles.
Good review and observations and your honest look at what could improve the Preston poles and what else catches your eye is interesting. Over time a lot of anglers get wedded to a particular brand and invested in it such that changing brands can be prohibitively expensive due to the amount of spares they have. I do like that there isn’t a best Pole, it’s down to the individual, their preferences and priorities.
Hi. I’ve got the x70 and has a back up I have the response xs carp and I think there is very little difference only thing it the response has a better package with 3 dolly butts brilliant 👏🏻👏🏻 I wish I was wasn’t sold with the x70 not enough difference 🤔
great bit kit joe x70 ,for the price it does everything that i need fishing wise bream carp skimmers ,don’t use it at 16.5mts much but its there if i need it ,keep the tackle talk coming ,hope the jobs going well
Great video Joe, I am the same as you as I have the x70 and the carp and I use the carp at venues with bigger fish, the x70 comes out at venues that need to be fished at around 14 to 16 metres or with lots of f1s or smaller fish. Keep up the good work mate 🎣tight lines.
I couldn't agree more about how good these poles are Joe I was always a daiwa man but the superium changed me price is exceptional. The x70 is miles better than the daiwa G90 and daiwa whisker and is on par with the tournament x obviously once you get up to the air and so on there's nothing better
Great quality content Joe! Not for me, however, if you are going down the tackle review avenue I’d be interested in hearing more about boxes, rods and reels. Appreciate that you can’t please all the people. 😊😊

Brill and honest video ... Here we go ... I am looking at purchasing a quality pole in the very near future, and so to the eternal Q? how much better is the 70 over a 50? Is the extra five to six hundred justifiable for my type of fishing. I am only pleasure fishing so don't need the competitive edge. This has to be a very considered purchase for me as neither are in real world terms "cheap" well not for me. My thoughts are get a 50 then when funds are back up again get the superium 8.5 margin & butt as a second pole. This would then be ball park 70 money. I have an X50 and Margin and love them. For future though remember if you get the x50, x70, carp or x90 that the superium Margin 8.5m pole also uses the same mandrel, which means for an extra £339 you get 3 carp top kits and the No3, No4 and No5 sections are also interchangeable with it for spares (which is a bargain cost wise plus very useful if you fish deep venues@@MikeyDunn

Joe, would you say the X70 is capable of handling commercials where the odd double figure fish show up, as well as large bream and tench. I have seen numerous posts regarding the number 4 section blowing in daily use. Is it a good, strong all rounder or more of a silver fish pole?

i owman old garbolino g796 pole it came with so many top kits power and match thats why i never got rid of it if poles had an even balance of match and carp kits then maybe i would upgrade but to be fare a lot of poles only come with maybe 1 match kit unless im looking at the wrong poles@@MatchFishingFilms
They are just more versatile you can elasticate poles for whatever your preference light or heavy elastic with different top kits. Or if you want to go real light you have long whips for straight to hand fine fishing 👍
hang on a sec Joe are you saying that those with affiliations are not honest ? (joke)
Never buy the maver reality pole.. I've had one just under a year and I've just had to buy another topkit the number 2 section is like paper mache .. spent more replacing topkits than I paid for pile of shit...
