I feel like tekken 4’s dark setting was the best for me. Kazuya and Jin’s story was incredible. And to continue it off with this intro for tekken 5 was insane
The narration, story telling...gameplay wise: the wall damage and different levels/heights to attack your opponents. Really good. A little different but it worked.
agreed, really amazing way to do a intro. First half is basically lore setup, and second half showcasing all "side" characters. also, i know the lyrics for Sparking because ive heard it one too many times lol
It is definitely up there for one of the best intros, i really like the tag 1 intro, though it was short, the piano and it showing the characters who were missing from the last game like kazuya and jun really added to it
when kaz and heihachi both take their stance and scan the room with their eyes has got to be honestly the most epic moment in all the tekken games for me, can't help but either smile or get goosebumps watching this shit
Bro thank you for this. My brother and I loved this game growing up! Now I'm 25 and he's 28 and we both got babies and it's crazy to know this is now old school!
The best fucking intro EVER!! 15 years later I still love it! The stories, the music, the action and emotion...all in about 2 minutes! Fucking love it!!
This Game did a lot of Great Things. The Intro, The Individual Character Story Arcs (Which I really missed); and the Character cross-paths. That's not even mentioning the OBVIOUS Stage that Defined The Franchise (for me Personally).. Moonlit Wilderness is still (to THIS DAY) My Favourite TEKKEN Stage. This was the Best chapter in The Franchise.. Gameplay wise.
When I first saw this op I was completely blown away. Kazuya's smile at the end of the first half was so badass. And the character introduction, man, the animation, the designs, I don't think it ever got to this point of quality after T5.
I use to play this with my cousin in a garden house. Every time I went there I had the greatest times and almost had no worries when I was there. Then they moved to Turkey and we moved to Australia. I Give almost everything to go back there and sit on that bed, turn on that tiny TV and watch this intro again.
This was the only Tekken game I ever bought and I remember it also had a third person side game where you played as jin. Such good old simpler times...
The way the end of the intro with the game title transitions to the title box so smoothly was what sold the game to me, i don't think i saw a transition that clean ever not even till this day
I still remember the first time I ever saw this intro and being wow'd by it. I was at a holiday resort over here in the UK which had a mini arcade and this game there. The memories... Still my favourite Tekken game to this day tbh, purely just due to how high quality things are, and the sheer amount of content it has (Tekken 4 is a close second tho).
The Devil Jon scream still gives me chills.. Yet i found it so hype when they remade the Jack scene as a fight in Tekken 7 with the awesome remix. Regardless of the fight itself being ez af. :D
I was 10 when this dropped and after absolutely loving Tekken 4 even though it was flawed, and then playing this oh my god was this a huge step ahead. The number of fighters, minigames, Star Blade intro...This game was unreal for the time
Tekken 5, Guitar Hero 3, and Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance, my childhood. here i am at 20 with a broken Tekken 5 disk (rip), Clone Hero, and just rebought Mortal Kombat (got taken away from me). long live the 2000s!
The first 10 seconds of the Tekken Tag Tournament intro is the best Tekken intro. I got the PS2 on the european release date, along with TTT, which was released the same day. Seeing Kazuya sit on that chair, rise up and go towards the elevator, with those jazzy piano chords. How bad-ass he looked blew me away. This was really next gen graphics and modeling. Jin was my main in T3, my first Tekken game, and although I loved Kazuya's design in T2 after getting the game later, I thought he died and didn't expect him to return in future games. That was another thing, the shock about seeing Kazuya's return. Although TTT games are not considered the main lore, we didn't know that back then. Back then in 2000, it was hard to find info about games in ahead, so seeing the cover for the first time, an hour before starting the game, it hadn't sunk in yet that he was back. That intro made Kazuya my main.
I remember the first time watching the black feathers descending from heaven and of course, the quick co-op fight between Kazuya and Heihachi when I was 10... fuck, I was overwhelmed, just like watching a season finale of Breaking Bad.
I remember this when I was 4. I always see my dad playing this with his friend. And I liked the intro. And I never knew the UI tone was from Tekken Tag Tournament 1. Because there was one time he was playing Tekken Tag Tournament 1 and didn't know so much of the story but I realized about Kazuya's face looks more younger without scars and the red eye but when I was more older I was understanding the story and that the Tag Tournament was a spin-off game
I stg tekken 5 will always have a special place in my heart, little me raged so hard on jinpachi, but when i finally beat him i guess i unlocked my hidden potential because after that i was able to beat him relatively easy consecutively
The Tekken 5 intro is 2 intros spliced together. Both are of awesome quality, making the combined package just top tier all around. I agree that no other fighting game has an intro as epic as this one. SF4 and SFvsTekken had good intros, but this one is just amazing
My personal favs have been the PS1 T2 intro and the PS2 TTT1 intro. Does not have the big explosions or the loud riffs of later Tekken intros, and the themes were quite iconic. Pretty much made Tekken up to that point come off more like a dramatic soap opera with fists. That said, watching Kaz and Hei tagging against those Jack 4s, and 'SPARKING!' was very hype. None of the later Tekken games ever managed to get me as hyped since.
I never skip the tekken 5 intro. Not even once. And the only father-son moment they had. Even for a moment. Now in Tekken 8, Heihachi Mishima.... is dead dead.
I will always say tekken 3's intro will be the best in the series and for a ps1 game has some stunning animation the way the music builds through the whole intro was just so memorable for me back in the day i never skipped it.
This just shows how unstoppable these two would be if they actually joined forces and stopped trying to kill each other lol... they fight so effortlessly together.🔥☠☠🙃
The best fighting game intro, ever? Everyone who isn't lame, knows it's the intro to TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2, home console version. Tekken 5 probably has the second or third best fighting game intro, ever. Let's not forget that Dead Or Alive Ultimate's intro is in the running as well.
@@TonyMishima92 No, you're entirely wrong. I said the correct answer. TTT2 console version intro is the BEST EVER. I said it, therefore it's correct. Any other answer is incorrect. I've spoken.

For me the best thing about this intro was the 5 second introduction of Devil Jin at 03:50 .. That was his debut as a seperate character in gameplay
15 years later, still giving goosebumps.
Tekken 4 intro it's still my favorite.
Can't deny that Tekken 5 intro was one of the best ever made.
Tekken 4 Intro: The Japanese original
Tekken 5 Intro: Hollywood version

TMM seeing Kazuya's DF2 in the cinematic and saying "Now that's a counter" is all that's good in this tekken world
Seeing King and Marduk duke it out in a ring is just too good. As much as I love T2's intro, I have to admit that this is the best without a doupt
When I first saw this op I was completely blown away. Kazuya's smile at the end of the first half was so badass. And the character introduction, man, the animation, the designs, I don't think it ever got to this point of quality after T5.

0:16 perfect timing of that spaceship laser and that TAP
I remember watching this intro with my cousin over and over again
The one detail I enjoy is that Kazuya and Heihachi fight in their in-game stances and use the same techniques from their movelist.
The way the end of the intro with the game title transitions to the title box so smoothly was what sold the game to me, i don't think i saw a transition that clean ever not even till this day
This intro made me gain real interest with tekken when i was like 8. So epic and t5 was dope to boot
One of my favorite cinemeatics of all time, for any game period.
Classic an intro that withstood the test of time it was well ahead of its years and as one of the best intros in video games history.
I’ll beat TMM first to 5 just by pressing 1
Tekken 5 Intro is so freaking awesome! :D
I loved this channel since day 1 crazy to see how far we've come!
This intro and Soul Blade's / Soul Edge's are pretty much the two best fighting games intros ever.
Soul blade intro is the number 1
Tekken always makes the best intros I swear they are unbeaten and I still watch alot of the intros nearly everday
7's is weak.

This intro is Goosebumps.
