The Japanese have a special way of gift wrapping. They use a big piece of paper that they fold in a special way, so as to use only one piece of tape to hold everything together. Not only is it practical, it is also very beautiful! More about Japanese culture on www.thejapans.wordpress.com
He makes gift wrapping look like a dignified art form~
Elaine Chow origami:)
What do you mean “like” it is a form of art.
It is kind of an art form in Japan, if I memory's right.
That’s because it is an art form. What isn’t an art form when done right?
Anything you do skillfully can be ascended as art.
The Japanese, they turn every chore into an art form...
Fate Destiny racist
I know ur complementing but still, that’s racist
Juan carlos Garcia i can't see any racism in her sentence.
Juan carlos Garcia you're just sensitive .
@Cheryl Lynne Yeah...sure... let's be optimistic about the aging population problem
wow! I didn't know gift wrapping could be so zen-like. Watching that box getting wrapped is somewhat soothing. I'm in my happy place
Leave it to the Japanese to make an art out of something so common as gift wrapping!
I know, right? That was so dang relaxing!

@@HelenaHaruko plot twist these ppl are actually Santa's elves in disguise😂😂😂😂
Everything can be done Zen-like. :)
This man does it with great care and precision. Absolutely beautiful. You can tell he cares about what he does and wants to make a quality production. Very delicate hand movements and handling.
stevenmcl1 It's my favorite video on youtube. Because of how he does it with such a soft caring touch. I could care less about the gift I just want to watch him work all day.
@@macmeeze1 and stevenmcl1: I agree with both of you. :-)
It's packaged so well I'd never open it. Then spend my life wondering what's inside.
A cute little hamster
@@JerryMetal lol
you prolly dont care but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an instagram account??
I was dumb lost the password. I would love any tips you can offer me
@Mustafa Jasper Instablaster =)
@Kolton Turner I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I could watch this man wrap gifts for hours.
He is so artistic/creative. Makes the simplest thing look so neat and cool! He did not waste an inch of paper and there were no scissors while wrapping the gift!
Well this is a rabbit hole I'll be going down for the next 3 hours....
HarveeB did you succeed at this ?
@@ejhGoBrowns hes still going.
On one of my many trips to Japan I remember shopping for something, it was raining outside, the sales lady put my things in a lovely large paper bag that had handles. In the west that would be the end of this story but she then proceeded to install over the top of the bag a plastic cover that was made for rainy days. It even had cut-outs to go over the handles! I love Japan.
They're the kind'dest, nice'es people in the world.
This was slowed down for us because his asian wrapping skills are too fast for the human eye to see.

JEOPARDY!
LOL... good one!
TWO CUTE
Just a RUclipsr 😂😂😂
They are paper folding wizards
I like that 😭🤣🤣
Origami?
I have so much admiration for Japanese people for their incredible work ethic. This old man is an epitome of industriousness and meticulousness.
I would prefer if someone could perform my gift wrapping process with such care and attention. Good job.
Every Christmas, I come to watch this for inspiration.
Did you end up successful wrapping your gifts thou?
Nice to see there are different ways to do things and still get the end results. My aunt was Japanese and she wrapped boxes pretty much the same. I like wrapping the ‘old-mommy-taught-me’ way. Looks just as great when done and I think just as fast and neat. My hand made ribbons makes the receiver want to admire the gift wrapping and take a picture before opening. Lots better than a stick and glue ribbon. Besides, the gift is going to get torn apart and discarded, sometimes, most times, without a single comment on how nice the wrapping was.
When I was young, I so wanted the job of department store gift wrapper. Making something so pretty and bringing joy to the receivers. Alas, I became a plumber but still enjoy wrapping for special occasions.
This is so satisfying to watch because the gift is wrapped so neatly.
I dunno... I prefer my way of wrapping gifts where I usually start wrapping it all up at 2am on Christmas morning because I was too stupid and lazy to wrap gifts the day before, I cut off a piece of wrapping paper that's too small so I have to use another piece of wrapping paper that doesn't match like some sort of barbarian, then I spend what feels like an eternity trying to find the end to the tape, and when I do find the end I get tape stuck everywhere because that shit sucks and sticks to everything but the thing you're trying to wrap up, then I sit back and look at the awful monstrosity I have created with wrapping paper and tape everywhere and after a few minutes I remember I didn't take the price tag off of what I bought, so I have to unwrap everything, take the price tags off so people don't see what a cheapskate I am, then start wrapping it all up again. Dammit.
Do you throw it at the recipient and shout "Are you fucking sorry!"
Genius :)))))
TheAmazingTwist Pfft, obviously. It's just manners to say that.
Andrea Demeter :)
chessyhope you give hope to humanity.
I love this guy’s relaxed energy
I swear this is an art, his hands are so gentle that it is satisfying.
Experienced hands resulting in a lovely finished job. He's so calm and like a Monk.
I stood in Sogo one day and watched the girls wrap gifts - fascinating.
I agree! I could watch this all day!
I love how the box just rolled in the paper like...😍😍
Interesting how the gentleman lets the box do some of the work by rolling it into the paper instead of pulling the paper up over the box. You get a much better fit that way, because the box and paper become one harmonious unit working together. There's also a continuous flow going on instead of stop-and-start movements, assuring a snug fit.
I've noticed this same technique being used in other Japanese gift wrapping videos.
This same principle works with alot skill based stuff to let it do itself.
This isn’t a man wrapping a gift, it’s a man doing ART
the way it folds so spritual, its like tai chi wrapping ritual, peace of mind and flows with nature
He treats every step like a craftsman treats a precious work of art. Even at the end when he was putting the bow he did it very delicate.
Did anyone else watch this several times trying to figure out just how he did that?
I actually sat down with a few of my little brothers presents and practiced wrapping them this way. Took time, but its wrapped beautifully when done correctly.
Only in Japan would you see a proud and distinguished gentleman in a suit wrapping presents. Love it. Their mindfulness is second to none.
I’m just puzzled as to why such effort is made to wrap it properly, only to have a readymade bow stuck on the paper.
this kind of video never gets old. love it
Relaxing to watch. I could have watched this man wrapping for an hour.
Japanese people are so relaxed and seem to have so much patience
seriously what's so special about this, we wrap gifts like this for years
Watching this man working is meditative.
So much pride in their work, amazing! Sure won't see that in your local Target..
Wow ! I could watch him wrap gifts all day !
That was so nice, slow and with so much love o think I need to study the art of gift wrapping.. sign me up.. softly
Do you know the background music?
Dam...and here I thought I was the best gift wrapper in the world! This man is obviously a wizard...( applauds )
I've seen many japanese gift wrapping videos. But this one stuck out because of how calming it is... Must be the old man but his movement is just so serene and undisturbed that made me feel calm.
What a masterful perfectionist. Exquisite. I recall I went to a baby shower when I was a young man and decided to have the Macy's Herald Square wrapping section wrap it for a small fee. It was so worth it as they did a great job too.
And here I am watching it 3 days after Christmas
everything is so zen in japan
He makes it seem so effortless!
There was genuine beauty in this video. Impressive.
Wow the care and attention to detail!♡
This is what happens when people are willing to sacrifice speed for quality. Superb craftsmanship.
Very ordinary scene in Japan. You can see this beautiful gift wrapping anywhere in my country.
Ninja Skill level 90
My presents often boast multiple sheets of paper... sometimes even two differing patterns
Still it was a rectangular box though... There are items that would even fox a crafty wrapper... Cone shaped things always get me... and things like Turkish delight which is in a hexagon shaped box... and then there are soccer balls !!!
The introduction to Drawing Restraint 9 has an extremely more artistic way of gift wrapping in Japan. It's amazing.
I find awesome that among all the video of ultra speed worker... that man is doing an amazing zen, conscious and calm job! Way more entertaining than looking at a human robot!
He's so skilled!❤️
how cool. reminds me of love actually when rowan atkinson takes his time + attention to detail.
This video just makes me feel nice and peaceful watching it
This man take pride in doing his job.
The hardest part for him was when he had to reach for the tape
He's so calm doing it, I'm always in panic mode afraid of whatever monstrosity I make whenever its time to wrap some gifts.
Home of Origami, did anyone really expect a japanese man folding paper to be anything less than perfect?
Origami present wrapping with three pieces of tape. Awesome.
why are there so many racist comments on this video this is literally beautiful
Vincent Not using proper commas make you say the actual opposite of what you’re trying to say.
Ignorance, uneducated and failures themselves. Plain and simple.
Because sadly, there are so many ignorant, racists in the world. Some even get to be president.
Maybe because those haters are jelly they don’t have skills like these. Well they have one .. to hate
@@KitchenOne-California yo i fucking love the video u uploaded
He threw the little piece of paper in the trash, this thing we only see in Japan, well done sir
Anyone in 2021? cus this just arrived in our recommended and I don't regret watching it
The Japanese are so elegant in everything they do, I hope to go there next year to experience their amazing culture. Now, am I being a bit picky here? I have this feeling that when a package like that is wrapped it might feel a bit 'lumpier' in places where some of the paper has been folded over whereas other parts have just a single layer of paper.
The Japanese are always so efficient ... brilliant people
Beautiful and so effortless.
I wish such attention to detail was present in the United States.
And then theres me....who puts gifts into a pillow case
This is so relaxing to watch.
Notice that beautiful music is playing in the background instead of noisy pop.
Do you know background music?
Since I was a kid I've been fascinated by the art of gift wrapping. Silly as it may seem cuz unlike others kids who loves Barbies and other toys, I'd rather interest myself in silver balloons and crystal stuff.
The most patient people in the World.
Magic! Love u japanesssse skilled people. Wrapping as an art
Wow, 3 simple steps. I gotta try this
Everything is better done in Japan‼️They take pride in whatever they do‼️🙌👏👏👏well done‼️👍
Wow even their gifting warping is an art
RUclips... Where two million people watch a Japanese guy wrap a present
This ASMR video is too damn short! Every time I'm about to fall asleep, I have to restart it...
I prefer my way of wrapping, Wal-Mart bags with the receipt inside. can't go wrong
Jason Gonzales lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lmao i did that too!
he taped it to the box. I'd be mad. this is the nicest way to wrap boxes tho, and you only need tape at the end
He's so adorable.
Hmm nice but I was expecting some really fast wrapping by a robot lol these Japanese are so smart
Wow, YT. That was a random recommendation, but thank you. I am definitely wrapping my 2020 Christmas gifts like this.
the amount of zen in this video is astounding
10/10
I would like to see how this guy wraps an object that isn't rectangular or squared. He probably have some really nice way to do that too. :)
I was expecting incredibly fast gift wrapping.
Didn't know Miyiaki could wrap a present this good
It is simple, neat and tidy, but needs a bunch of experience.
