Corrosion has been there since new.. I sent this video to finance company and maufacurere along with many ph it's. Renault Dacia are basically stone walking me. Talking to citizens advice at the mo to see what my options are. Cheers for the message.
+Mikey Clifford Hi Mikey. Very worrying to see something like this. Do you have any updates? Do you still have the car? I look forward to hearing from you. Andrei
My 2013 white Duster also had paint issues that I spotted after the first few days of ownership. Basically I could see through the paint to the primer coat in places and rust was starting to appear in random places. I got in touch with lifestyle Tunbridge Wells and they got it sorted fully after the second attempt and waxoiled the whole car free of charge. In the meantime they gave us a Loreate courtesy car which was so much better than our 4x4 access petrol version so we ordered one of those and have had no issues at all. The moral to this story is buy from a dealer that actually gives a damn about its customers, not the one that give you the cheapest deal.
I read a review that early models suffered from rust issues and this has been addressed now by building at a new plant, allegedly. I hope your problems are sorted out. I'm still considering one...they are quite popular...
It is a known fact that first uk Dacia's was built in India with a lot of corrosion issues. I've read about it in a Romanian newspaper at some point. Romanian built Dacia cars don't have this issue, this is why now Renault builds them in Romania even for UK market. This must be very frustrating for you and I am surprised that you have not been offered an acceptable solution by now. I'm driving a Dacia (Romanian original factory built) for a year now without any issues so far. I hope for you Dacia will at least replace yours with a proper one.
My first one was made in India and indeed it had corrosion issues. The second one is from Europe and it seems to be OK although I check it out regularly. Mind you, after 10 years at the sea, my VW Kombi has rust near the windscreen frame and now the windscreen has cracked :(
This issue was resolved when they moved production back to romania. Ford had the exact same problems with indian built rangers and the indian built rangers scored awfully in ncap tests as the steel used was terrible quality. I own a sandero and have no rust issues. Build quality is so so in some areas for example panel fit for the doors isnt great but for the money you pay its not as bad as people go on about.
If you want a cheap car that won’t rust, get a used Astra. I bought a 12 month old Astra for £9K and washed it twice a year for the three years I owned it. I did 12,000 miles a year, mixed motorways and city driving. Apart from the whelks corroding, it was fine. It’s a shame that cars rot like this in this day and age.
Sell it before it looks too bad and buy a Kia Sorrento, they are bigger and cheaper if you get a slightly older one and are bullet proof and are great to drive. I now have 2 Kia's and will definitely keep buying them as they have really come on and in my view are better than most other makes, hence them being the only manufacturer to give a 7 year warranty.
Kia? Rust is a known problem for some models and Sorento is one of them. The Ceed model that I owned got multiple areas with rust after only 2 years. They were covered by warranty and repaired but rust was back after 1,5 year. Thank you but no thanks.
Corrosion issues were at the first models with right side wheel, only the ones "Made in India". Looks like you have an early Duster. As far as I know, is a warranty covered issue.

Truly shocking! They said Rover was bad in its day! Really? but I beg to differ seeing this I've got a 17 year old rover which hasn't rusted in the places this car has! After less than a year, The Rover has very minor pin dots of rust on rear arches after well over 111k and kept outside all weathers and driven daily🤑
No rovers just go through headgaskets like no tomorrow and fall apart due to shoddy built quality. Rust was one issue my old rover 25 didnt suffer with was just everything else. Immobiliser faults dash falling apart drivers door lock falling off. Can't fault the K series 1.4 engine tho once the hg is repaired properly one of the best small capacity engines out there the 25 also drove and handled brilliantly.
+TJ true with some which unfortunately nailed their fate, I've owned my 2.0L a decade nearly 120k and still driven daily no issues as with previous rover 2.0L which clocked nearly 200k and was fine and neither had cylinder head issues it was the smaller units that failed, I've had various Peugeot cars petrol and diesel all blew head gaskets at under 60k and fell in bits after 6yrs
HG issues can be avoided on most engines so long as the cooling system is properly maintained and problems with it are dealt with problem. 99% of hg failures are caused by an underlying problem with the cooling system. I know of K series engines that have hit way north of 100k without hg issues the problem with the K series is if it overheats even once its usually enough for the hg to let go as the original gasket desing was rubber beaded. The modified MLS gasket cured the issues my 25 ran great after it was uprated. People say they blow again but if the job is done properly and the head is properly prepped it and new stretch bolts are fitted it'll run forever. My 25 is still on the road.
The Dacia Ruster problem still an issue (French review from last year Underneath Chassis & exhaust system corrosion) ruclips.net/video/b4v1kZG6z90/видео.html
my 2019 dacia duster have corosion. But it is ok, this is low quality and low price car. My car seler sostena said that its normal for dacia, if yuo want beter quality buy another car. :)

how long before the corrosion started m8 ? send the video to dacia head office, or trading standards... good luck
Next time buy one that is produced in Romania. Those produced in India have all the same problems.
