you guys are awesome ... for some reason, when what i am watching is over, it automatically goes to your shows. so, i've listening to you guys for weeks now. damn, i know a lot.
Awesome show! Loved the hierarchy of this episode. Shay reminds me of myself on my amp building journey. So thankful for these shows and to have someone like Dave and mark bless us with there experience and to keep the building modding experimenting spirit alive. Props to Shay for being ambitious young gun. Love the switch names for the modern generation! My tone needs more blood🤘🤘
Both you guys make the industries top brand and I didn't know Jason was coming on ,love his amps as well but as a metal guy I gotta say damn that Monomyth skeleton key and his marshall mods CHUG!!!
First off, I really like your show. I feel though like a slightly more structured approach to the conversation would really benefit these episodes. Like maybe spend the entire first 30 minutes or so just getting to know about the guest and their company. Their background, approach to amp building, overview of their product line , who their amps are intended for etc. before going to questions in the chat. That way we have an insight into their tastes and it makes it more interesting for listeners.
+1 @ the oiling (over) fingerboards theory. i often warn people the dangers of overoiling. the thing that nobody ever admits is most people do it to darken rosewood boards to get it as dark as their favorite black & white 8x10 photo of the cowsills
you can A/B woods on guitar, there is no difference in the recorded signal. however it makes a difference in the hands of the player and that can make him play differently.
Big fan of the show. BUT I don’t get the Van Halen obsession. It may be because of my age (35) but I can think of lots of tones that I prefer over any of the recorded VH tone
Yeah I get it but if you were older and experienced Eddie and damn the whole 1980s as a coming up guitarist it was something that you couldn't put into words other than it was just an incredible time and there were so many greats that came out of that era but Eddie was the King!🤯🤯🤘
@@VromanEmpire the same can be said for any decade before and after. Everyone thinks the decade they grew up in was the best. Honestly, the funniest part is, every generation had musical innovation that far exceeded the prior generation.
Great show as always Marc & gents! Very enjoyable 🤟🤟🤟
Much appreciated!
Thanks Simon!

My kid and Jason’s dog are both wolfgangs😂❤
tru oil used in guns, gets hard as a varnish, just use it sparingly and wipe off the excess, let it dry and repeat until you get the wanted result
Great show!
Great show gentlemen

Funny how Dave was just playin with the young guys.
Didn’t Ed take the Tolex off because some of the cabs were hot?
Yes and that was the key to the Brown sound🤘🤘🤘

The DOD BI-FET is A Kim Thayil thing going way back
Good news everyone, DOD Bifet Boost is back in production.
The 500pf across the cathode? In the origin.
I'm going to convert an origin 50 to a 1987, and I'm wondering what that is
470pF or 500pF in parallell with the 100k resistor to ground in the Cathode Follower.
Cuts high end and adds some compression.
@@PeterBerlindCarlson-m6b awesome. Thank you

Man, I would love to know how the Plex master vol is set up
Dave talks about it in one of the Jasons Tong/Headfirst Amplification's live streams. Don't remember which one...
@user-bi4nl9vl2n I think I remember him talking about it on Jason's show but I didn't think he gave any real clues. I'll double check though.
150 🎉
Surely, if you buy an amp that needs so many mods, could you not just buy a different amp? Say a Friedman?
Im surprised, that Marshall (not only) never put any of the legendary mods out as production line model 🤷
Dirty Surely
@@stanislavmigra That would be a great name for that line too.
This guy never looks at the camera.
Most of them don’t, so what’s your point lol
