@Jared Hutchins I guess they restricted it to playoff games, but the 54-51 game and comeback in the meadowlands are two of the greatest regular season games
You could argue that the 1970 Cowboys lost the greatest ugly game in Super Bowl V (11 turnovers; 7 by Dallas), and they went on to win the Super Bowl the following season.
Just to clarify, the Cowboys committed four turnovers in that game, while the Colts turned it over seven times. But the turnovers committed by Dallas were absolute backbreakers.
As a Pats fan the 28-3 game will always be my favorite super bowl but I honestly feel bad for Matt Ryan. Seeing him walk off the field with that look back at what could’ve been was rough and it’s only worse now that he was also the QB in the new largest comeback loss of NFL history.
This is the first time I've heard the "Minneapolis Miracle" described accurately - the result of an all-time missed tackle. No disrespect to Diggs, but he had very little to do with that play working out as well as it did.
WTF was he doing on that play? The ball is thrown high, so he ducks his head and just dives forward, without even looking where he's headed for the tackle? WTF.
@@jimmyplenderleith9471 they needed an open field stop and to keep him in bounds because the vikings had 1 more play if not. Vikings literally dis that exact same play earlier and were stopped in that exact same way
@@Amonabus OK, but come on, that tackle attempt made 0 sense...he's not even looking where he's trying to hit and the ball is thrown high, which means he NEVER looked where the ball was going. I think it would have been great transition from after the Cardinals lost that close Super bowl to the Steelers to talk about the Packers who had lost to the Cardinals in that epic wild card round game the following year point out the fact that the year after that the Packers went ahead and won the Super bowl.
This has been great so far and I haven't finished the video yet but I can't believe you didn't bother to mention that when the raiders did go to the Super bowl the following year after losing the Tuck rule game when they lost to the buccaneers the bucks did have the raiders coach from the year before Jon Gruden any pretty much literally knew exactly what the raiders would do against his team and he got sweet revenge against them for trading him. But I do like to bring up that the raiders eventually got their revenge right back on him by beating him in the final week of the 2008 season which caused the buccaneers to miss the playoffs and then they fired him
1:40 love the channel but its always funny. Both plays went to Fitz who did all the work that drive but you gave Palmer the credit we give the qb too much praise when those YAC was all fitz. He could have easily went out of bounds.....but he was hungry.
Fun fact: Frank Reich, the QB for that Oilers-Bills match up, is the current head coach for Indianapolis. He was with the Colts from 2006-2011, including being the QB coach when the Colts made their last SB and Manning won MVP. He was also the offensive coordinator when the Eagles won their first SB title before taking the Colts job. Edit: WAS the Colts head coach. Unemployed for now
@David Anaya, *Question how long did Warren Moon play* ? I've seen the 1992 Season games and was shocked that he got hurt in the 4th quarter (before the play-offs) ...
If he gets us a Super Bowl title, I'll probably try to get my hands on one of his old jerseys. It would be one of my first non-Colts jerseys, depending on if I get a Scary Terry jersey
Not a coincidence that they left out the Packers vs Cardinals game from 2009. Mentioned it twice, but somehow don't include the highest scoring playoff game in league history and one that went to OT? If they did the little thing at the end about none of the teams winning the title the next year wouldn't be true, since GB did win the title the following year.
@@mre695 Nope. They mentioned it twice but didn't officially include it. If they did they would have talked about the loser, the Green Bay Packers, and how they won the Superbowl the following season. That never came up in the video
Overlooked Omission: 'Mile High Miracle' aka 'Rocky Mountain Rainbow' Joe Flacco to Jacoby Jones 70-yard game-tying TD & Double OT Divisional Round Baltimore Ravens 38-35 victory over Denver Broncos on a 47-yard FG via then-Rookie / now GOAT Kicker Justin Tucker - followed by tremendous Broncos run from 2013-2015, beginning with Peyton Manning's TD record-setting season, Denver losing in Super Bowl to Seattle Seahawks, then eventually winning it all in 2015 against the Carolina Panthers in SB 50. How this whole story - along with excellent postseason game to jump-start said epic tale - were excluded is beyond me!
Super Bowl 51. The beginning of the end for Thomas Dimitroff. The Falcons never recovered from that choke job. 2017 was a year filled with ups and downs, where we ended up as the sixth seed. The only reason we won against the Rams was because of how inexperienced McVay was at the time. Then against the Eagles, Sarkisian’s playcalling did us no favors as the Eagles defense smothered Matt Ryan. Tevin Coleman was one of the very few bright spots in that game. But it ended in failure. 2018 saw us getting injuries to damn near every defensive playmaker, which explains why Beasely never got injured, and our O line, which got Matt Ryan killed behind the line, which ended up with Sarkisian and Marquand Manuel, the defensive coordinator for the best defense the Falcons have has in the 2010s, losing their jobs. 2019 saw the inexplicable return pf Dirk ‘I like to throw the ball all day long’ Koetter. The man responsible for our O line getting hacked before Dan Quinn showed up. And to no surprise from me, the running game was a no show, the defense was getting tired due to the constant 3 and outs, and Matt Ryan was damn near killed again for 2 whole seasons. Julio then left the Falcons, wanting to win a Super Bowl before he retired. Now this last season was a mix for me. We were still rebuilding but while we didn’t have talent, we had more fight. Thanks to Aj Terrell, Grady Jarrett, Cordarelle Patterson, and Kyle Pitts, we went game by game sometimes winning sometimes being blown out. It was a season to determine where we needed help. Our O line was put through the fire, and got exposed, at least 3/5 of it was. Unfortunately for some reason we went after Deshaun Watson, which pissed off Matt Ryan who decided he wanted a trade.
As a Pats fan join the club….. 2007 will always be on these lists too. 2011 to an extent sometimes, but the perfect season loss with Moss will always sting a bit.
There are some recent Super Bowl champions that did suffer a devastating loss the previous season. SB XLV Packers win after losing 51-45 to the Cardinals the year before. SB XLVI Giants win after the Miracle at the New Meadowlands the year before. SB LIII Patriots win after losing SB LII the year before. SB LIV Chiefs win after losing back and forth AFC championship to Patriots the year before. If the Steelers Colts 2005 playoff games counts then add SB XLI Colts as well.
Funny. the Chargers are still blowing big leads today. New players, new stadium, new coach, new city. Same old Chargers. That wildcard round loss in Jacksonville this past weekend was an absolute travesty. A good reminder of why I gave up watching football nearly 10 years ago. At least they won that game in 1981! Too bad I was born 18 months later and never got to see it.
28:42 It makes you wonder: with that stacked 49ers team that showed success with multiple QBs, including a Hall of Fame career by Montana's understudy, Steve Young, how much of Joe's success was his, and how much was he a system QB in the best possible situation with the GOAT of receivers in Rice? No doubt he was a top QB when he played, but he may have had one or two fewer rings if the 49ers weren't as historically dominant as they were. He was very clutch, no doubt, but on even an above average team during his tenure I don't think he gets more than 2 rings, 3 if he really plays out of his mind. You never know though, because in the post-season he was borderline unstoppable. So you have to think that if he was on playoff caliber teams, he still could've led incredible runs to championship titles. We'll never know, but what we can say is it definitely helped that Montana had the team and especially Rice like he did. Just food for thought.
Regarding the Tuck Rule game and the Raiders’ following season in 2002 - what a coincidence! (1) Their QB wore #12, the same number as Tom Brady, and (2) They lost the Super Bowl to Tom Brady’s future team.
as a Eagles fan, i was definitely a Packers fan during that playoff game.. i rooted for them like they were my Eagles💯 that's the distain, the hatred i feel for the Cowgirls
That Seahawks/Lions highlight where Seattle batted the ball out the back of the endzone was illegal. But the refs didn’t call it and it screwed the Lions once again.
Then the St. Louis Rams move to LA to become The LA RAMS. The LA RAMS would toil in obscurity for a few years before acquiring Matthew Stafford from the Detroit Lions through a trade of Jared Goff. Matthew Stafford in his first year with the LA Rams would lead them to a Superbowl win.
2:50 The Falcons blew a 28-3 lead in Super Bowl 2017: They make the playoffs as the NFC-6 and beat the Rams. Only a brick wall could stop them… it’s name is the Eagles

@Empr4evr Not in the video.
@Jared Hutchins I guess they restricted it to playoff games, but the 54-51 game and comeback in the meadowlands are two of the greatest regular season games
I'm watching this the day after Franco passed away. Great player, but, I can testify he was an even better man. Thanks 32. You were immaculate.
Yeah well that Super Bowl done fucked me up just so you know haven’t been the same since
Dude y’all need to put those old games in hd so I can watch em is sick quality.
This is the first time I've heard the "Minneapolis Miracle" described accurately - the result of an all-time missed tackle. No disrespect to Diggs, but he had very little to do with that play working out as well as it did.
You're right, the vikings had attempted that same play prior and diggs got shut down.
The whiff seen round the world.
Just makes no sense why he took the line he did, why he never looked to see where Diggs was or where the ball was. Wait for him to catch it and tackle him in bounds
NFL Throwback 🏈 Is The Best Channel Ever
The Cardinals and packers game got me i was so excited going into OT and then Packers defense let larry run all over us to the 1yard line
Watching Kaepernick run all over the Packers defense in '12 was nightmare inducing.
I think it would have been great transition from after the Cardinals lost that close Super bowl to the Steelers to talk about the Packers who had lost to the Cardinals in that epic wild card round game the following year point out the fact that the year after that the Packers went ahead and won the Super bowl.
You guys do a great job with these videos.
"New England held an all-time offense to only 3 points in the first half" - much easier to do that when you know what plays they are running.
💯💯💯
Throwback request: Best NFL rivalries of the nineties and today.
This was a great video. Thanks
James Brooks played in at least 3 of the games mentioned. Which says something for him. He really hung around & could still play.
This is essential viewing for the off season.
fr besides watching old auburn games or packers
this is crazy. nice job once again throwback :D
Keep making more of these amazing and hilarious videos
that rams-saints game still pisses me off, the way the pats played in that super bowl, i know drew bree’s would’ve taken advantage unlike the rams
Unemployed for now
He also holds one of the greatest comeback in NCAA FBS history against Miami.
@David Anaya, *Question how long did Warren Moon play* ? I've seen the 1992 Season games and was shocked that he got hurt in the 4th quarter (before the play-offs) ...
@@isallah1kafir196 the whole game. He just kept turning the ball over or the Oilers offense stalled out on 3rd downs in the second half
If he gets us a Super Bowl title, I'll probably try to get my hands on one of his old jerseys. It would be one of my first non-Colts jerseys, depending on if I get a Scary Terry jersey
Was lol
Love that channel❤️🔥
War eagle Auburn and go pack go
At least you referred to the pre-80s Colts as a BALTIMORE team; Indy has claim to the mediocre teams after that only.

Another great spotlight piece.
They did include that game though?
@@mre695 Nope. They mentioned it twice but didn't officially include it. If they did they would have talked about the loser, the Green Bay Packers, and how they won the Superbowl the following season. That never came up in the video
This was my response to one of the losses (@9:02 through 10:41): being on the quietest bus ride to school the next day.
The Dolphins in 81 & 82 were maybe the greatest group of overachievers ever.
How, just how is the Chiefs Bills divisional round and the 49ers Saints week 15 in 2019 not there
28-3 still haunts me in my dreams. Not to mention the 4th down fail against the Eagles the next year
Great idea for a video
Them games are legendary
I like the 1997 super bowl and I'm a packers fan that should be on here it was huge

The nfc east is buffalo's worst nightmare... Literally
This is a certified hood classic
As a falcons fan I already know that 2016 season is coming on the list
Kyle brandt and peter schrager should do commentary on games again
Bro i just noticed the murray magic play against the bills happened to the cardinals lol
Make a video for the teams who won 10+ games and still missed the playoffs
My Cards would be on their twice: 1976 and 2013.
This video is so cool and awesome
Regarding the Tuck Rule game and the Raiders’ following season in 2002 - what a coincidence!
(1) Their QB wore #12, the same number as Tom Brady, and
(2) They lost the Super Bowl to Tom Brady’s future team.
Now everyone will wonder about the 2022 Bills.
Dan Fouts at 13:40 🔥
I think the next video idea should be "Non-highlight plays that changed a season".
the ones that actually make me feel bad is jim kelly never winning one after going to 4 straight and matt ryan losing in the that 28-3 comeback.
what about 2018 Rams vs Chiefs?
that bullshit in the 2018 NFC championship game still annoys me, how the hell did the ref not call that a flag
but then you would have been curbstomped by brady with another brees choke job
Bills are a franchise of eternal sadness
as a Eagles fan, i was definitely a Packers fan during that playoff game.. i rooted for them like they were my Eagles💯 that's the distain, the hatred i feel for the Cowgirls
What Is The Reason youre An Eagles fans in the season and a Packers fan in postseason there a Choke Artists.
@@jamesnelson5618 Eagles fans root for anyone playing against the Cowboys
Week 18 - Chargers/Raiders, 2021 season. Should’ve been a tie 😭.
20:06 "In the '93 Oilers responded with a miracle run of their own." ?
And, after the Cards beat the Pack in 09, the Packers won the Super Bowl on the road the entire way.
The 1990 Giants are on this list twice, in back-to-back games. The 2001 Patriots are on here twice as well.
That Seahawks/Lions highlight where Seattle batted the ball out the back of the endzone was illegal. But the refs didn’t call it and it screwed the Lions once again.
Whole lot of heartbreaks!!!

2:50 The Falcons blew a 28-3 lead in Super Bowl
2017: They make the playoffs as the NFC-6 and beat the Rams. Only a brick wall could stop them… it’s name is the Eagles
