Just ordered my first mech keyboard and my feed is choca full of videos with 'BEST budget keyboard' or 'BUY THIS ONE'. I've followed hipyo for a while before pulling the trigger and did follow his advice but for anyone who might be in the same situation as me. Don't fall into any buyers regret. The best budget keyboard is ultimately the one you can afford or the one you have. If its not 'the best' you can try modding, or switch out keycaps and switches. Enjoy the hobby at you're own pace.
I agree! Most of what I've taken away from these reviews is a list of features to look for when I have started making my choices. And information on how to change things I might not like! We have come a long way from the days when you couldn't find any mechanical keyboards with wireless for less than $Logitech, and I salute our hippo leaders for showing the way.
YEs, absolutely. This is something i thought i had overcome when buying the rainy75 even after new "better' options came out since liked the pvd mirror on the rainy. but after stripping the screws in an attempt to mod it (3/6 screws) I for sure had thoughts like i should have bought the bridge 75 instead lol. still havent found a solution to the screws so if you have any ideas that would be helpful :)
I purchased keychron V1 Max with brown switches, it's my first ever mechanical keyboard ever and I really love it. I can't wait to customize later on time
I just got mine in the mail today. I just wanted to yell into the sky THANK YOU HIPYO! I put some nice caps on it from drop and honestly if this is what a keyboard should have been like all these years what the heck have I been typing on moldy cardboard lol. This thing is amazing, sounds and types like a dream. Thank you again for opening my eyes to the truth :D
hmmmmm this might be the one to go for i’ve only just started getting into keyboards and this seems to be a good one for learning. i got a lofree flow 75 as my first non-mainstream board after the algo introduced me to your channel when that vid came out and it was love at first sight, beautiful board that i use every day at home and at work
Update - I did the KS and got my keyboard today on 10/2. It's amazingly nice and quite poppy, nice gasket performance stock and the silver finish is very smooth not chalky like some of the other less expensive boards. Very impressed with my initial impression. Switches are a little light for my tastes but I knew that would be the case when I ordered. The stock switches are very smooth and feel fantastic if you like light linears plus the RGB is nice and bright as well, perhaps they made the brighter for the release compared to what you reviewed (mine has the beige switches). Front of the keyboard is on part with the Rainy75 and ND75 which are both about 3mm or so higher than a QK75n.
@@yaboi9632 Dongle storage is always one of my pet peeves. I don't always use a dongle, so with some keyboards its loose and easy to lose. With others, I keep it in an included keyboard case, but its to inconvenient to grab so it never gets used.

Everything is better with magnets. For people that like to tinker the idea of this is pretty sweet. If I was younger / had more free time I would be all over this.

Here's an idea for a video: "Can AI design a good mechanical Keyboard?" You open up Chat GPT and ask it to recommend you different parts that would make up a keyboard (What switches should I buy? What Keycaps? What base? etc.) Then you get whatever Chat GPT suggested, and see what you end up with.
9:35 "Oh also it has ISO support" Sort of. They support a plate for the taller Enter, but it keeps the key count the same, meaning no smaller left Shift and extra key that is part of ISO. ISO boards have one more key than ANSI boards so their 'ISO support' is more of a semi-ISO or ISO-like ANSI, a weird hybrid of the two. Which is important for languages that have more letters than English and hence benefit from the extra key.
@qq_02 I was looking for a custom keyboard with ISO support. Would we say that this might be a good call. Because i was looking at the Akko Monsgeek M1 V3 but with VAT and shipping its like 160 for the ISO so Im looking for alternatives that are more around the 100$ mark
Did Kickstarter for this one when it went live for the pro to check it out. Rainy KS to me was a nightmare but the Lemokey P1 went great... guess it just depends. While it's not super easy to take apart I'm currently evaluating the Epomaker P75, multiple switch options, bright LEDs, great caps and comes in a little less than some of the others. No external weight but no one really sees those anyway. Great review on this, looking forward to when I get mine... whenever that may be :)
