This series sort of reminded me about a story in Indian mythology Mahabharat about Eklavya and Dronacharaya.
Ekalavya, the son of a Nishadha chief, approached Dronacharya seeking his instruction. But since his father was a general under Jarasandh, the ruler of Magadha (an enemy state), Dronacharya refused to train him alongside Kauravas and Panadavas. Undeterred, Ekalavya began study and practice by himself, having fashioned a clay idol of Dronacharya's to watch over his training. Solely by his determination, Ekalavya became an archer of exceptional skill.
One day, Ekalavya's focus in training was disturbed by the barking of a dog belonging to the Kuru princes. Ekalavya fired arrows that filled up the dog's mouth without spilling blood or causing injury to the dog. The Kuru princes were amazed by the trick and looked for the archer when they saw Ekalavya, who introduced himself as a pupil of Drona's. This made Arjuna amused and quite sad about Ekalavya's archery skills as he said that he learnt indirectly from the same guru Drona that Arjuna was learning. Drona was in a tangle: on the one hand, he greatly admired Ekalavya's skill and dedication; on the other hand, Ekalavya had indeed been training as his pupil without his consent, albeit being guided only by his idol. To resolve the matter, Drona accepted Ekalavya as his student, but demanded the thumb on his dominant hand as gurudakshina, or teacher's payment, in order to limit his abilities and further growth in archery, thus pacifying Arjuna. Ekalavya, being an exemplary disciple, immediately cut off his thumb and presented it at Drona's feet. Moved by Ekalavya's sacrifice, Drona blessed him to attain mastery even without his thumb.
Inspite of the inaccuracy of this series regarding how law actually works, it had 2 sides on this story arc and compelled the viewers to question it.
Mike Ross was a phenomenal lawyer but never attended Harvad or any law school. But inspite of never attending law school he actually had skills and talent and was actually winning cases.
So the series asks : “Is the degree important or the skills/talent or both?” because remember Mike had immense talent but lost the opportunity to study law and become lawyer because he wanted to make some money and was under bad influence of Trevor. Does one bad incident like that should destroy a person’s life?
Wow - the lady playing Gloria was phenomenal. Hearing the pain in her voice was compelling.
i tear up everytime i watch this scene
The lady has a point, who cares if your Lawyer is actually a lawyer or not, if he knows the law and gets a person you care about out of jail for a crime he didn’t commit, that degree or whatever is just a meaningless red tape.
Precisely. Skills over credentials, as it always should be. Look at the Wrights brothers for petes sake.
but gibbs has a point, too. while your Lawyer is winning it doesn't matter if he is actually a lawyer or not. but once he starts losing everyone will point the finger at him for not being a real lawyer.
Do you have to go to college to be a lawyer?
@@davidkoretzkij230 Has Mike lost before this.
This is one of those things where there's two strong sides
That part with the whole jury turning their heads to Gibbs' side, is so brilliant.
Your move. Go
I've been watching too much NCIS, had me rewatch looking for Leroy 🤣
that's why she LOST
Man Clifford was a really nice person
True. One of the few people who deserved a chance at a second life, and that was taken away from him all too quickly.
@@AaronDJ26 forget deserved, he was entitled to a second chance because he was innocent to begin with.
Imagine what Clifford would have done only if he were alive to help Mike
Facts bruh
Making an old lady cry/relive the most terrible moment of her life just to have the jury hear something emotionally evocative but irrelevant to the facts of the case. This is when Mike truly became a lawyer.
😂
Yes🎯
To be fair the old lady was more than happy to do that
On the contrary, it wasn't irrelevant to the lady at all, and possibly the only thing she could do to celebrate the memory of her son.
@@mezzer99 "On the contrary but here is something completely unrelated to what you said."
That's great. But the way her son died was still completely irrelevant to the facts of the case.
Its a very scary that there are many people in different parts of the world like Clifford, whose lives are ruined just because they are convicted wrongly.
Well and in the case of the us imagine how many innocent people got murdered by the law in the name of justice…
@@Northwraith your name says it all

@@Northwraith I remember seeing a statistic and they reckon around 5-10% of those executed in the US are innocent.
@@Koudy111 his reference to a video game says all you need know huh boomer? are you in 90s or 80s?
No matter what clip you upload , no matter how many times i have already seen that part , I still feel like re watching it
I know right?! I was happy that the show is on the Peacock streaming app.
@@lefuvui5179 my man started an ad-read in the comment section
I keep rewatching this clip and the one with the man on death row
Harvey sitting there had more dialog than everyone talking amazing actor
😂
he said nothing. thats what the word dialog means.
2:57 - the reason they found him not guilty
fr
I don't understand.
They found him not guilty bcs the show needed it that case was so clear it's actually kind of dumb
They found him guilty because she failed to fulfill the burden of proof. This was because he countered almost everything she has to say, not just because of this scene
@@user-ve2or2rz4x They didnt found him guilty, he was declared innocent
Suits is one of those series that have tense scenes which never get boring to watch
but it did after a while
we as audience know that mike is guilty, but gibbs not only made such a weak case she was also a huge hypocrit she only wanted to catch a big fish like harvey
There's also such a thing as jury nullification. If a jury feels that a law is not right, then regardless of whether the accused is guilty of violating that law, they can find the accused not guilty.
That lady deserves an award for her performance.
no kidding. She deserved an Emmy.
fax. I want to give her a hug for that performance
One of the most important rules of trials: NEVER ask a question you don't know the answer to.
yeah she knew that witness was coming up for months. and all she had prepared was that nonsense she had not researched the response too???? clueless
I watched this series again front to back about 3 months ago, and this clip made me want to watch it from the beginning all over again.
If Mike Ross wasn't out of Suits. This series wouldn't have ended.
Yeah, for me this beautiful series ended at his leaving.
Indeed, they could take rachel out and no one would care
But Mike Ross was the heart of this show, figuratively and literally
The last season felt rushed. They cannot make stories about Mike-Rachel living separately as that would be ridiculous. Mike cant be in New York for a long time.
@@DonShei Naw they could have made them stay in New Yorn living together, Rachel just wouldnt show up physically.
They could have just name dropped her every so often so everyone knows shes still there but not actually there
@@Raydnt69 lol i couldnt watch it because of rachel ...maghan now lol
This scene somehow still water my eyes.
This is a scene that can make the toughest man cry.
🙄
Not really
Gotta admit, mike did what real lawyer unable to do it.
Thats why vigilantes are better than law enforcement
This short videos gonna make me rewatch this show for the third time🤣
Same. Lol
One of the greatest scenes from suits.
agreed
Patric Adam's is great actor the way he charges with confidence you can't tell he is actually remembering the lines
These little clips keep reeling me back in to binge 😭😭
I read comment like it's scary that there are people like Clifford and all. And it is a fact.
But it's also the fact that there are people like Mike Ross too. Everywhere in the world. People who don't have the degree or should I say a piece of paper to qualify, but actual they are much better than those who are on the job or on positions. I selute and respect those people
I will re-watch these series now and when I finish law school.
actions speak louder than words
I don't get it. The defendant always has the right to defend themselves and ask questions. Even if you have a lawyer, you have the right to confront your accuser.
arent defend urself and act as ur own lawyer different things?
Harvey’s posture😊💯.

I love the story so much This comment deserves so much more recognition... Thank you for the Native legend...🫂🤗
"I happen to be familiar with your son's case"...yeah, right. That's rich coming from a prosecutor
This season was exceptional
Love to watch again and again
The music of this show is so so amazing ❤️
All props to Christopher Tyng ❤
A real lawyer would object to inadmissible character evidence immediately. Specific act testimony is not permitted.
yes, but the main point is this testimony, albeit inadmissible, will tug the heart of the jury and they will tend to have their own bias towards mike
How is it inadmissible if his character is in question?
@@iamjobu6101 Because she hadn't asked a question probably....
@@iamjobu6101she didn't question his character, she questioned his profession. Which is a dumb thing to do considering the witness has said he got her son out. Her hypothetical question on had it made it worse would mean nothing because it didn't make it worse.
The prosecution should send her back to school.
One of the strongest scenes in this entire show
Mike Ross is the GOAT.
My favourite movie... I love Mike Ross, so smart and bold
3:08 If you see the jury the guy in the front left is the same actor that played the car mechanic that tells Harvey Mike was not guilty.
Cool detail they hired the same actor
law and order did the same thing. i remember this reoccurring character that was a criminal, a jury foreman and eventually a judge LOL!
Very emotional scene
I love prosecutor Anita Gibbs in these scenes, she say like what planet do you think you are on.
Man these youtube clips want to make me rewatch Suits (for the 4th time)
The judge of this case must have been the best one in whole series
I always loved this scene.
This episode still gives me goosebumps
Mike ross the g.o.a.t of pearson specter litt !!
It was at this moment Mike turned into Lt. Kaffee.
"I want the truth!"
"You can't *handle* the truth!"

Lol
If someone advertised and had a client sign a document of understanding that they never went to law school but passed the bar, that should be enough. But lawyers want to act like they are in some sort of elite club.
Only if he would've trusted that people cared more about his ability to care about others rather than thinking they cared more about a piece of paper.
Uhhh why exactly would the defense rest after one witness for Character Testimony???
What episode and season is this please?
..and Mike did it all without lipstick, tight skirts and hairstyle coiffure!
Verdict was not guilty but still Mike went to jail!!!!
That's a waste. Well he took the deal before the verdict.
Theres a lot of lawyers that shouldn't be one.
Suits was more like a daytime soap after season 2.
There are times when you say, "No questions, your honor" and move on.
DAAANG... I WANT TO REPRESENT HER ANYTIME & IM NOT EVEN A LAWYER..
Just starting season 6.
Loving the show.
I’m not sure a series has ever existed with a more annoying character than Luis 😂
Does this be a scene from season 6? Causecim tryin to find the sauce of this vid
agreed. i can't stand Litt
You will love Louis in the end
The guy is representing himself in the court of law in a mind blowing way and court is worried about a piece of paper ?!??! Sometimes I don't understand the society we live in. We give way too much importance to some businesses called Universities.
Leslie Hope has been in a terrible mood since messing with Nina Meyers
24 hours... dun dun duuuuuuun :D
1 trial in 80 episodes. What law serial is this?
Lol
You watched all 80 episodes just to say that ?
Most legal cases never make it to court almost all are settled
Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
As an attorney you should know you don't approach the bench or cross the bar Mike.
Yeah but that is something every show with lawyers does so hardly his fault
How ironic that the people who hold positions of power set the rules for determining who can and cannot be in those positions of power.
What lawyer would take on a case with no money….
pro bono.
This is the scene where you Knew Mike won Over Anita...but he didn't trust in self and quit...I know this is for the scrip and show sake but if they stay with the winning of Mike instead of him giving up it should much grow and make more sense
Ive defended myself against real lawyers and they came up and shook my hand afterwards telling me i did a perfect job of getting off on charges without exposing more illegal activity. Legit the one time the judge told me im guilty of something but this aint it slammed gavel and said not guilty.
Why in shows and plots like this do they never have re-direct examination after cross examination?
Plot armor.
I can’t remember. Was this episode before or after Mike was sentenced to prison?
before it.
Powerful
Agreed
