What is there left for Blake to make?
Global Mountain Bike Network maybe a rack for when you are travelling with your bike inside a vehicle?
A wooden bike
A wall mount for bike storage
huge, like 3-4 meters drop in ramp. ty :)
Gallows
Blake’s not only good at jumping on his bike.
He makes the ground a trampoline
lol
I love his intro. "Welcome back you beautiful people". Always put a smile on my face when he says that.
Reminds me of my old supervisor. Such a nice dude
Great video! One small suggestion that some people may find useful is to cut up an old inner tube and tape it to the plywood where the seat and post rest to protect them, and perhaps also grip more securely.
Blake is a great presenter.😄👍

Great video, I decided to adapt the instructions and measurements for the yanks. I added a few bits here and there. I will be building this week.
• Materials
○ 2 - 2x4
○ 2 ft by 4ft 3/4 or .75 Plywood
• Note
○ Pilot holes for all screws
○ Add wood glue to all joints
1. Cut 2x4 - 6.5 feet
2. Cut angle on board, 10-15 degrees
3. Cut 2x4 - 2x - 3 feet length - (2 pieces)
4. Cut 2x4 45 degrees on end of 3 foot section
5. Mark rectangle on opposite end of 3 foot section of 45 degree cut, 4 inch length, .75 depth, cut angle from corner to corner
6. Cut 2x4 - 24 inch for cross brace of feet
7. Cut 45 degree angles on both ends of cross brace
8. Make A frame out of legs and cross brace, put 2X4 scrap in between top ends to ensure proper space for upright
9. Attach brace to upright about a foot from bottom
10. Brace upright to base with 2x4 with both ends cut at 45 degrees, 18-24 inches up from base connection
11. Add 2x4 piece under vertical brace and secure with screws
12. Cut .75 plywood - 7.75 inches x 24 inches (2 pieces)
13. Measure 5 in x 15 in on plywood and cut angle for streamlined front profile
14. Attach plywood parallel from upright with 12 inches in front, use level to ensure proper fit
15. Cut top end of 2x4 upright so it is flush with plywood boards
16. Brace space in between 2 parallel plywood boards with 4 inch 2x4 piece 4.5 inches from end
17. Ensure brace is flush with flat top and angled bottom of plywood pieces
18. Optional Shelf or top cover
a. Top Cover
i. Measure from plywood brace to back of plywood pieces, will be roughly 21-22 inches
ii. Width should be 3 inches depending on your ply
iii. Cut rectangle piece and attach with 6-8 screws
b. Wing Shelf
i. Measure from plywood brace to back of plywood pieces, will be roughly 21-22 inches
ii. Measure from plywood brace to tip of upright
iii. Mark 5 inches on both sides of plywood and draw diagonal line
iv. Cut wing shaped piece and attach to top stand with 8-10 screws
v. Add offcuts to side and back and attach with screws
19. Lightly sand with 150 grit paper or block
20. Vacuum or blow off dust and wipe with microfiber or tack cloth to remove dust
21. Paint or seal
22. Add rubber feet to bottom to prevent slippage and water damage
Use a an old inner tube for the rubber feet part
And do I *have* to paint or seal if I have treated wood?
thanks for this. as an American i was shaking in my boots with the metric measurements haha
Doing gods work
I'm tired of working on my MTB while it sits on the ground. I have some odds and ends of wood that I'm going to use to build this stand. I have everything I need for the build including some spray paint cans and screws. This will be a zero cost build for me apart from the labour. Thanks so much !
Blake's bein a flexible man: a hard shredder, a baker and now a good carpenter! Love it GMBN💖
Good idea. I like these episodes when Blake makes something. Keep it up 🤘🏻
Blake's DIY's are the best !!
So, last week I was literally looking at DIY builds for a bike stand, then you guys post this.
GET OUT OF MY HEAD 🤣🤣
I would recommend using wood glue for added structural strength . Thank you for sharing your talent!
Professional carpenter here, wtf is a centimeter?! HAH! Great video I love mtn biking and I love woodworking! Going to make one of these ASAP!
thank you for using metric
That’s what drove me crazy. Sorry I’m from the states. Very cool video tho
I used two 2x4s and a couple of scrap wood pieces to make my stand using Blake’s template. Took about two hours to build on a rainy day when I couldn’t ride anyway. Thanks for the inspiration!
Every mountain biker should subscribe to this channel. Im italian, and i love this channel.
Chill m8 Iam indonesian and I love this channel so much
I really love Blake with his intro "welcome back you beautiful people"! Even if I have a bad day I hear that and puts smile and tears on my face. No idea how can somneone dislike such a positive energetic video. Just because Seth and others did this before, Blake just makes it even more stylish and practical. And I love his videos. Cheers Blake, my younger brother I always wished I had(I'm 36). :)
True. This guy always sounds positive and down to earth.
very cool!!... I will add rubber padding for the saddle holder!
Use an old inner tube!
Brilliant job Blake! You've given me a nice winter project.
I've seen a lot of bike repair stands and by far this is the best one. All the others the upright will prevent the pedals from spinning. Not this one. I will definitely build this. Thanks for posting this.
I would recommend using old inner tubes to pad the slot where put your seatpost.
THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT IDEA!
Blake, you’re the man!
Great vid! I’ve been wanting a stand for forever but of course didn’t wanna drop over a hundred dollars on one. I built the mini kicker and love it, now I have my project for the day...thank you!
Alright.
First I thought, ‘wooden bike stand. Sounds like rubbish’
THEN about half way in I was like, ‘it’s Saturday, I’m building a wooden bike stand’!
Props to brother!
That is functional AND a bit artsy!
SUBBED!
OMFG!!! That's so brilliant Blake! You Save Me. Thx.
Quality. I have a few DIY jobs that need doing at home. Is Blake for hire?
Yeah £50 an hour lol😂😂😂
At that point, it wouldn't be called DIY, would it? ;)
Going to build this today. Thanks!.
Nice job Blake! You’re a stand up guy.
Good stuff, Blake. Might have to try building this one!
Blake is just perfect.
I just built this, super sick. I just bought my first hardtail off Facebook, I'm planning to build it up. I spent all my cash on the bike and didn't have any left for a decent stand. This fills that need, and I did it for a fraction of the cost. Mine came out a little tippy, but since it's just going to be living in the garage I anchored it to the wall so it won't fall. It looks sick, my friends are stoked about it
some sick jumps in the first bit. great looking build btw. thanks very much!
Blake is actually a really good handy man. Very cool
I Love this.. Build... I'd make one soon...
Blake is my favourite presenter he is just funny, good at riding, and just an all round great RUclipsr
Love the enthusiasm!!
Definitely looks fun!
Really, outstanding !
Building mine today, thanks for the help :-).
Hey I made this today, wood from local building site offcuts. Nice video! Cheers from Melbourne Australia
another quality build Blake. Cheers dude
Its funny, how easy and HQ that result product is! 💪👍
Wow it turned out so awesome man!!
Blake you the man!
I just made one following this video!!! saved me 100+ bucks from buying a park tool stand. A local construction site gave me all the wood i needed. Did not paint it however or make the top base for it. I got to install a new derailleur, wheels...etc. Got a frame up and running that day! How convenient!
Nice work!
Blake is my fav guy in gmbn
Another classic Blake how2 vid boom 👌👌
i like these recent diy videos that have been posted its really inspiring and neat keep it up =)
Very safety oriented for a guy who shreds like a mad man on A bike
Nice I would make one but I got one for Christmas!!
Thank you.
I've been thinking about building a wooden bike stand for years. This design seems stable, functional, and durable. And is aesthetically pleasing to boot! Yes, I will be building a version of this today. Now, if we could get Blake to build a portable version of this, one that folds up, to dial in bikes in the parking lot before the ride(s)!!!👍
How did it turn out, happy abbout it?
@@olavhouge1677 actually turned out ok. Use it at home, bought a portable stand off Amazon for use when I'm doing repairs in a parking lot.
@@olroymtbetc.6117 Have you seen bike stands that hold the bike in place via the pedal using pvc? Seems nice altrough the bike is very close too the ground. Thanks for the reply :)
@@olavhouge1677 hey man! No problem. I have seen the PVC style crank arm holder. My opinion is that it's limited in its use. Unable to remove wheels, can't adjust drive train, etc. Good for cleaning, and maintenance not requiring wheel movement or removal.
Loving the content
Thanks for the video I might just copy your design!
I love how you keep jumping
Much needed 🙌😩
Thanks for this!!
Cheers from Whistler 🤙🏻
No problem 👍
Love the vids man!
Really nice work man, I'm going to build something similar for me !
Awesome!!
nice DIY hope to see more amazing diy vidoes like this.
Blake bike hack strike again , i love the idea of the stand
Nice Blake
Sick I love it
Skipped through this, very impressed though, nice design!
That's handy I want to make one one
What a nice workstand/medival torture device!
Bravo!
Should of painted it blue so it blends in with the park tool stuff and people think you paid hundreds for it
I am building this, thanks for the help. Also, first 2 plywood cuts should be 200mm x 610mm or 20cm x 61cm.
So cool really helpful I just built 1 😀
Nice work!
Great video
Blake the engineer
I really appreciate you guys using metric..I'm from the US..lol
Metric is just way easier
MTBWay Well, get with the rest Of the World then 😉👍🏻
Metric is way better
Very neat. I may do this, I improved the holding system however
How?
Great video. I would make one but I already have an X-Tools stand
nice one
Excellent!
Glad you liked it!
Great video. I was able to make a stand for $10. I always have scrap plywood and already had the screws.
Man you are the best...
I dare say Blake is a wild man.
o love it
Blake, get some weed killer down on the patio man! Love blakes joinery skills. Love the show
Love this video, just made my stand and it’s perfect - can always rely on GMBN for anything mtb related. Quick word of advice though, if your going to cut the main long piece of timber to 2 metres you will need another piece of timber as the legs are also 1m each so you are left with only 2x 40cm pieces and you need a 60cm piece for extra bracing. So, In summary if you are going to follow exactly how Blake does it you will need another 60cm piece of timber for the bracing. But you don’t actually need it if you cut the main long piece of timber to 180cm leaving you a 60 cm off cut and I cut the top off of it anyway to make it flush
Yh I cut it to 160 cm and I still didn't have any spare off cuts left
The thing is the shelf is the at the top
Which too high
I'm gonna put it like midway
So my bike is high up
also I just did it today
And it tipped over forwards
So going to.uncscrew and.move.the top.nose back
You're a Wizard Blake
Blake is a carpenter
Not sure if this was ever a video idea but should be a safety/ tips and tricks for staying safe on a ride from wild life and that can be any kind
super nice super tidy
Mint!
You should include freedom units, as well.
Luved it mate, very entertaining, could not stop laughing at your jumping, 😂
Love the way Blake puts his own spin on essentially a Seth Bike Hack video. Are there going to be any collab videos with Seth this year?
2.i love your vidsss 🤘🏼
Hi Blake. I've been hesitant to purchase something that will simply fall apart on me. I have just made something very similar to this. Thanks heaps for making this vid man!!
Cheers for watching Alex!
Nice DIY Blake 👍🏻
I’ll stick to my €25 Lidl bike stand though 😁
Excellent vid, I have now got the wood together after 10 minutes at work😁 I just wonder if there is a DIY way to clamp it securely?
Use like thread rod or something and use the flex of the plywood
Awesome video!! I was thinking building my own bike stand like that for a long time. Nice work there! P.S. send some of that nice hoodie to Croatia :D
Sounds like it's a nice day for sailing.
Good idea, great Vids. I got a fold up one off eBay for £22 tho
I like the bike
