❤Omg 😮 This is such a game changer, thank you so much Belle❤ you are the greatest. 😊I have the same Accuquilt hexagon 2"3" & 5. I have the 8" cube dye and dye #6 it's perfect size to cut the middle hexagon. I have a bin where I keep all my cut-up cube dye full of precuts #6 dye in all kinds of fabric prints and solids. It works perfectly. Great idea Belle. ❤Not only that I downloaded a Tack it easy press pattern, I took card stock paper ran it through my scanNcut. Now I have a perfectly tack it easy Hexie press. It makes it much easier and faster. I don't get glue on my fingers. Thank you for sharing, Belle. HAPPY SEWING
Just bought mine! I went with this die vs the epp specific ones. 1) people said the seam allowance was not big enough in the other one. And 2 I love that it gives 3 sizes. Even if you have to do more rounds.
Yay! I’m so happy to hear that! It’s the exact reason I came up with this way of doing it- saves time.! Make lovely things 🧡. I hope you will join in the upcoming Hexie Upcycle Challenge I’m hosting virtually with another designer. Registration opens this coming week 👏🏼
If you are hand sewing the hexis together, which I enjoy doing, does the stabilizer cause the needle to become sticky , gummy, or dull if you 'catch' some of it in the stitches? Thanks for your reply!
@@SeamsSewMe the original link you had posted several months ago took me to the roll of firm tearaway stabilizer, which I purchased, and have been using with success (and it still says "tearaway" listed, above). But, now I see the link takes you to your Amazon shop that only has firm cutaway stabilizer. Which should we be using? I've got about 3/4 of my hexies done using the tearaway product. Do you know what will happen when I wash the quilt with the tearaway product? I would hate to have to try to pry these hexies out of my 1,000+ fabric hexies I've made, lol!
The both work with the same results. 👌🏻 As long as it’s a stabilizer that is firm so that you can fold over the fabrics around them. Both end up like a dryer sheet material when washed- you don’t know they are there. I’ve have customers use either.
You could if you use fusible interfacing instead of stabilizer but for me when using stabilizer, I just use a dab of my glue stick to keep it in place ☺️

Do you know if they have 1/2 inch hexagons?
They do! You get six for fabric and six for papers on one die. $49 👌🏻

Not at all- there is no glue on the stabilizer I use. And the basting stick glue doesn’t get on your needle bc the glue dries so quickly.
Brilliant! I'm in the middle of a Flower Garden quilt using my Accuquilt machine, and I'm ordering myself a roll of stabilizer right now!
Yay!! This will help your process go much faster! Happy quilting 🧡

You could also use a firm wash-away stabilizer.
It’s not quite thick/firm enough unfortunately to get the fabric to fold over the edge evenly.
This is awesome! Can I ask - do you iron the fabric to the stabilizer before your glue the fabric overlap over?

Love this idea. If you don't want to hand sew them you can applique them down by machine.
I plan to do that 🧡☺️
Brilliant idea, thanks!
Happy to help! 🥰
Awesome girl!
Thanks! 🥰
You describe the stabilizer as “stiff” but the Amazon link describes it as medium weight. Is the link correct?
Yup- that’s the correct link 😊
Brilliant, Belle! That means u can machine quilt the hexies!!!!
Yes it sure does 🙌🏻😃🧡! Isn’t that wonderful!
