We did it for you, so you can enjoy. Thank you for calling my game a masterpiece. It took me a long time to make. Your lead dev Jameson Hukumatonatisaomong.
Only just got around to playing it this past week and I'm blown away by how good it looks, the sound design and the not-quite-nostalgia it's bringing on.
@@PuxiI just started playing 3 days ago. I’m at the part where you gotta kill 2 big fish underwater with a crossbow. I never played Half Life and decided to play your Remake before Half Life 2 RTX Remix comes out. Black Mesa is soooooo good!
It's not raytracing though, it's running on Direct X 9, and it's all screenspace effects, true real time raytracing wouldn't have issues with rendering something in reflections which you can't see on screen.
This is beautiful.. but why smooth shiny floors?(Black mesa Dev's would have done that using screen space) Indirect lighting, good shadows is what we need..
do u actually have any Gameplay footage with Raytracing on ? Because sure it all looks great when standing still. with no action going on whatsoever, that i am sure u will keep your 60fps. but as soon as u start moving that fps with drop like a brick.
Usually yeah. But it also depends on what each person is used to. Below 60 for some can be perceived as super choppy while others anything below 120, etc. Type of game is also a factor. A fast paced action game for example would benefit more from higher FPS while a top down or isometric game not so much.
Black Mesa's vanilla lighting still impresses me every time. That game is a masterpiece.

@@RLToughGuy yeah, it was hard work, you better cherish it.

reflective concrete will now be in my nightmares

Well its more than good enough for a source game.
Bet you’re fun at parties
The mod for the updated version of one of the best (1st person shooter) games ever. 😍

my only issue are the reflective floors (they look way to clean xd) but this is amazing
Yeah it definitely doesn’t work in some areas.
True haha. Honestly I tuned the settings to the area of the game I was in. If I was outside it wound be always be off.
This seems to just have made everything shiny
what version of reshade setup are you using? I get compile error when using the latest version
When I made this it was probably 4.9.
@@vamperius thanks

how do you install it
it's SSRTGI, not ray tracing
вот ради такого не жалко 3060 и выше покупать
Great job, it would be good to see real-time movement with mod applied too. 👍🏽 I do reshade enhancements too, check them out.
If it's a little bit too shiny I guess it's better for cinematic purposes rather than gameplay.
Ray tracing in gaming in a nutshell. Even dirty warehouse concrete is shiny and reflective.
35 FPS with RTX 2070 Super in 4K :-(
RIP lol Yeah ray tracing really hits performance. I was usually around 60 at 1440 with a 3070.
use 1440p - 2070 is too weak of a card for good 4k experience
@@1sonyzz Literally playing God of War in 4K Ultra on an OC'd 2060 Super. DLSS Quality and I have stable 60 fps.
Install the ray tracing mod then let us know how the fps is.

Now understand why rtx technology is useless
Next up, can you make some effort to make this game less annoyingly dark? It's so dark compared to the original half-life
And I don't mean your mod specifically, I mean Black Mesa itself. Could use some lighting up
I know what you mean. Personally I love the aesthetics. However, with ReShade you can change the lighting levels as well using the “Levels” plugin.
