Ok. I just added the liaison and I tell you what, wow. Just amazing. I went from 4 48 patch bays down to two and every thing is there at a push of a button. I can tell you that if I knew this thing was that good I would have purchased it years `ago. Congrats Dangerous. Keep up the amazing product line!

AWESOME... Question I mix in the box and use external hardware for tracking example tracking lead vocal I use a u87 into BAE1073 into ua 1176 into Dangerous convert A/D + Spdif rca out into Spdif rca input Apollo x6 by passing the converters. MacBook pro m1 cubase pro 12 after I'm done tracking I mix my song in the box once I'm happy with the mix I export mixdown in cubase to my desktop wav file . How do I mix and capture the D/A convertion when exporting my mixdown song to desktop wav file? Thanks.

Hello, thanks for reaching out. Great front end for tracking! For mixing down, you can leverage the summing circuit on D-BOX+ and the additional input on your CONVERT-AD+ to take your mixes to the next level. Please reach out to our experts in support to walk through some workflow options. You can reach them by phone, email or scheduling a web meeting here - www.dangerousmusic.com/support

I recently upgraded my audio interface from a UAD apollo 8 silver (thunderbolt) to Apollo x16, I’m monitoring using Dangerous D-box (silver) and upgraded from Logic 9 to Logic X 10.4.4, I use a lot of outboard gear (eq’s & compressors) as hybrid mixing.
Usually I set up an i/o (utilities plugin) with Logic X to run my outboard hardware on track’s, I did the loopback test (ping, latency compensation) which came out to -3 samples and the recording delay in Logic preference I manually changed and set to +3 sample so I can monitor the outboard in realtime, but there still was that latency/phase type sound. This seems to be a simultaneous monitoring issue I think, feels like to signals going at the same time. I monitor on my D-Box via the DAW & Analogue buttons, I get the above results, but if Im summing the tracks/s to the D-box sum output, I do not get that issue.
Example on my patch bay(Switchcraft 6425) I routed my outputs from 3-4 out into my EQ’s and back into inputs 3-4, which is how I usually set up the routing with external gear. with i/o (utilities plugin) on a logic track, signals were running through the external EQ’s, but there was that simultaneous monitoring while the hardware on the track.
The track in Logic was set to stereo output, when auditioning the i/o external eq, there was that phase/latency or double monitoring issue when it ran out into the stereo master, if I bypassed the i/o, that issue was not there, and played back the unaffected track fine.
I checked all my connections out of the Apollo X, the db25’s (connected to my patch bay), the AES out into the Dangerous D-box, the monitor out of the Apollo into the D-box, everything seemed to be fine.
Is there some kind of setting in the UAD Console, control panel or Logic X to be set?
As mentioned I have to be able to monitor/audition all my external gear and be able to bypass them (via i/o utilities logic x) without phase/latency or double monitoring. When I printed the effects via busing/routing on to a new track and monitored back the printed effected track, it was fine. But again, when auditioning the external, there was that latency, and this was done on 1 track, can you imagine running multiple tracks with external hardware and getting that, it will be a pain to use. I'm sure there is some kind of setting I'm missing here from either Logic or UAD console which I cannot seem to figure out. Although I put all the same settings I had on my older setup to be the same.
Please advise. Again, I ran the same setup with my older Apollo 8 silver with Logic 9 with the D-box, never had the issues above. Your help would be much appreciated.

BullFunkZoo Can you explain your patchbay setup please? I have an X6, Twin X and external comps and EQs all hooked to a patchbay for mixing. I will receive a D-Box Plus and an X8 in a few days and trying to figure out how I will be able to hook all this up and still use my external gear for mixing before the summing process. I guess I could front patch the X8 outputs to the D-Box Plus inputs then patch the D-Box summing channels to two input channels on the X6, but that seems a bit clunky. Can you please provide clarity?

Some dealers stock the simple cable that makes this connection. No converter box or anything like that required.

I have a question and it’s really bothering me! I have an apollo X6 and it’s going out to a presonus monitor station v1 model!
I like the combo but the 2 volume buttons bother me and I am not sure if the presonus colors my mix. But the functionality to switch speakers is great compared to apollo
So should I monitor out Only on apollo or should I keep my output monitor for presonus

We'd of course recommend a D-BOX+ to address all your concerns. Excellent mastering grade DA converters, plus total analog transparency with our circuit designs, summing, speaker selection, remote control and more. dangerousmusic.com/product/d-box-plus/

I’m still not decided. I have the original dbox and the Dangerous 2 bus plus. Both have different sound and color. The new dbox plus probably sounds just like the 2 bus plus. I kinda like the two color option.

You can, you just won't be able to use all 8 channels of summing since the x6 only has 6in/out.

Hello, yes it's compatible. We have a hookup diagram for Ensemble Thunderbolt but the diagram is for the original D-BOX. So there are slightly different connections on the back of D-BOX+ but the diagram should still be helpful. dangerousmusic.com/product/d-box/
