2 bus xt is a little wider than dbox but that aligns with my own testing on other summing boxes. more channel splits with their own headroom. DAW is congested in comparison but still works.
@@pickerpelletier1 I decided not to pick one up because I had to be honest that My Apollo X interfaces and Audient already specs higher than the Dbox it would be a waste of money. The Dbox was ahead of it's time, Dbox + would be more on par or an upgrade to what's on the market these days
@@pickerpelletier1 I would look at the 1st gen of X interfaces because the 2nd gen X’s aren’t much of an improvement more of a refresh. The only major change is 5db of dynamic range in the headphone outs but D/A and A/D hasn’t improved much. The X series already sounds good…but we’ve reached industry standard quality in converters a long time ago since the black mkii I would invest into other things like outboard gear or expensive mics. TBH the Audient mkii line has similar specs to the twin x for way cheaper and I use it a lot more as I like the stock pres better
@ I’ve got the x6 right now 1st gen and a silver Twin Daisey chained, works quite well. I agree with the mic’s and preamps comment too. I’ve picked up a Manley Core tube pre and a Neve 5211 which are great for adding depth to tracks! I thought about switching to RME but I think what I have is good. Audient is also fairly highly regarded, do good to know. A few more mic’s and the little studio will be rocking. I could chat all day about this stuff lol. Cheers!

The DAW summing sounds identical.
I guess you listen to this on MONO try stereo you ll see the huge difference
Puhhh pretty noticable difference between the DAW and D-Box. Is the XT-Mix at the same RMS? Sounded somehow smaller to me.
Is the silver face dbox sound quality still good in 2024 compared to dbox+ or is it on par with something like An Audient Nero?
I’m curious too, I have the opportunity to pick up the original for cheap. But should I spend $2000 more for the D box +?

@ that’s good to know and makes sense. Thanks, I’ll pass in the used D-box. I might just upgrade to the gen2 Apollo
