sadly. shinji quite litterally NEEDS to be eva 01's pilot. given that his ability to use it as well as he does is due to the soul of his mother. yui. having been fused to the machine. similar to asuka's mother to eva 02. although that was only partial compared to yui's full send.
It was an even worse idea to make the two brattiest and most emotionally unstable of them the sole survivors of the Apocalypse and they now have to become the new Adam and Eve. 😮😂
@@dieterdelange9488 sorry to dissapoint you, but it ain't that simple... the instant their start taking their clothes off, the moment Asuka takes a deep breath while Shinji prepare to clap those cheeks, one bunch of troll motherduckers waiting to finally recover their individuality just at the very second Asuka and Shinji start to get too comfortable with each other, will emerge out of the Fanta Ocean God laughing in a "surprise" just to mess with them both! i'd bet Misato is one, she be there, hidding, smirking, just waiting anxiously for the scene of Asuka and Shinji finally... getting along.
@@dieterdelange9488 so yeah, ain't happening. either people will come out of the ocean congratulating them just as they decide to play Adam and Eve, or something more boring will happen.
One that isn't in here but was terrifying is when Unit-01 gets hit with Ramiel's beam and Shinji is boiling alive in the cockpit screaming for help. That fucked me up pretty bad the first time I saw it.
Christ, I always thought that it was just because of the neural link causing him to feel the pain of getting blasted, but now that I think about it that explains all the bubbles. Fucking hell.
I'll be real what traumatized me the most was 3:22. That whole part of the episode when the Angel was making Asuka relive/remember her repressed memories/deepest trauma. See the thing is I watched that scene in English and the imagery along with voices I can understand kept me up until 3:30 am watching AoT until I could fall asleep 😂
The idea that Attack on Titan is somehow less disturbing really shows how messed up Evangelion can be at times, especially in the psychological horror department.
Everyone talks about the scene where Unit-01 cannibalizes the angel (makes sense though, that scene is amazing) but the scene on 0:17 has more impact on me. That sea of blood, everyone at NERV watching in horror, the music, the roar, THAT was the moment I realized how powerful and scary Unit-01 could be.
Not to mention the extreme cosmic horror of the fact that's the angel's shadow. There shouldn't _be_ a physical body for Unit-01 to tear its way out of. It's the first of two separate instances in the series that suggest Shinji has crossed the rubicon of physical existence (the other of course being when he's completely absorbed into Unit-01 after reaching 400% sync during the Zeruel fight).
I always wonder why Yui/Unit 01 didn't wake up sooner so that Shinji could've saved Asuka in E0E. Yui broke out immediately after Asuka got mutilated. Did she NEED the trauma that came with Shinji seeing his friend torn apart to start the last impact or something?? I don't get it
Before he used to say, I hated this series then I remembered why I said I hated it somehow this shit manage to traumatize me. How do you accomplish that I’m a hard person to scare you had a long scar yeah, this one series was genuinely traumatic to watch
I'll tell you: because Evangelion (the original) is one of-- if not the only-- fictional story that genuinely understands and accurately portrays human psychological trauma. Plenty have tried, some come close, but Eva's the only one I've seen that nails it. Only someone who's personally experienced these states of mind could represent them the way this series does. It's uncanny. I've found that the more someone likes themself, the less likely they are to like (or understand) Neon Genesis Evangelion. And only someone who has known true self-loathing could tell you why the ending is so incredibly profound and uplifting.
@@TheNwahDango I did not make it to the original ending because I was told it was garbage rather I went further. What the fuck is this ending? Also, thank you for explaining why this show genuinely upset me.

I love everything about this series/movies. I grew up in a eastern europe town where the most frequent opinion about Evangelion was: Yeah mc is a wimp, i hate him. It was a surprise for me to find out that me and Shinji have a lot of similarities, it really felt like heaven to understand just how much this anime speaks to me. I think that to this day it's message and philosophy both can be helpful for younger generations who will for sure struggle with communication, depression, lack of self love and lack of self acceptance. Besides that if you are not that sensitive towards gore - its a great watch with a lot of violent fights and cryptic mysterious scenes. And also sad scenes. Seeing innocent people getting killed in EoE made me cry, and then the final sequence nearly killed me with its depressing scenery.
Japan Military : ...So we can all agree that the next time we get pilots for anything, we need to get them tenderness, love, care, and the best psychiatrists in the world.... or just hire the Super Sentai to deal with it.
This was like the last video of basically giant organic horror but also more mixed with psychological and mental horror, like, actually sentimental, last one made me feel sick from seeing a giant of metal turn into decomposed organic matter, but this one made me cry, i could almost feel them. Japanese movies and series just can communicate feelings to deeply and directly even if you cant understand one word they are saying, just seeing the things happening gives you full context and almost makes you live it.
Don't worry, don't be scared. Here, go safely into the entry plug and enter a FUCKING ORGANIC ROBOT WITH YOUR MOM SOUL. That was an epic series. Then they fucked it up from half the third movie until the end of the fourth in the new quadrilogy, also removing all those creepy things.
Evangelion is so fucked up in a good way. The creator fr said “ Yo I have a vision” and it was this masterpiece. Such a complex ending with such complex characters . I mean , it really left a hole in my chest , a hole that will never fill , a hole that I expected , when I started to watch this , to not even exist. I thought it was gonna be one of these silly animes , but no , now it’s pure depression , something that changed my character for days , even weeks , after finishing it all ( movies + actual anime).
