I wish theyd design abandoned space stations that you dock your rocket to for some spooky exploration, refueling (once you repair them), rare resources, and maybe even some unique critters. Maybe some ghost story/ monster movie bits added in for a twist.
This is actually an awesome idea. Be a good way to add in an endgame hostile critter. Albeit they’d probably have to add in a way to build your own space stations or this feature would feel weirdly implemented (not saying that being able to build space stations wouldn’t be awesome).
Imagine this came with direct control over the duplicant doing the exploring. Make it a platformer mini game. Beat the puzzle, defeat the critter, unlock the base.
@@kaderobertson2489 we know dupes and critters can fight each other already. The crabs get mad when there are eggs present and many hatches bite when being attacked. Not a stretch to see some truly dangerous critters on board a "haunted" space station with electrical glitches and flickering lights.
@@Reevin it doesn't have to be fully controlled. You can keep the core gameplay loop and have dupes spread out to restore systems and make repairs, while being careful not to open the wrong door before they are ready for what waits beyond. You could even do several different paths to clearing out any dangers, such as vacuuming out rooms, activating defense systems, flooding rooms with zombie spores, etc.
“They improved the performance of….” was probably the most amazing part of the update. It’s like eye-candy but for the ears. Klei out there doing the God’s work.
I love the blueprint changing! Very hard when youu get a new blueprint and cant immidiately change it! Love love love that klei is working on this game out of love. More Blueprints and so many quality of life, truly makes me fall in love with this game more and more update
That swap material QoL is amazing. Can't imagine how many times I've made things out of the wrong material. Love all the optimizations. Time to build even more to slow down the game again.
I started playing ONI in December 2021 and I would be obsessed with it even if nothing had changed. The fact that Klei keeps on improving it is a massive cherry on top
1:18 The "move to" errand worked like this already. I've tried to use it to move pips after it was added. Waited for the entire cycle, even changed the task to top priority (!!) - nothing. But the second I got the dupe with the ranching skill - boom, done. Did they change it just to change back?
Thanks a lot for putting this all together! Love the new features! ♥ On a side note, I've noticed you have quite a bunch of blueprints (e.g. for your beds) - any tips on how these can be unlocked / acquired?
If you already get blueprints: You will get 3 per week if you play at least for x amount of time. Normally i think for me it is enough to have the game run for around 1.5 hours to get 1 each half hour. If you don't get blueprints you will haev to enable Data Communication in the options menu: ses that sucks. but apparently it only works that way
@@Luma_plays Thanks! Someone else told me it takes 6h / week to get all 3 weekly blueprints, but I think you are correct that 1.5h is enough. (I've played about 2-3h this week and got 3 blueprints).
Hope they didn’t make ship walls indestructible in terms of melting them. Really like the process of getting a liquid hot enough to finally break through such a barrier and the rewards of a nice building size grid.
The new critter pickup/dropoff makes me want to play with pufts. If I get it, this will make managing them a breeze, ye? Easy way to keep princes with other pufts just with the dropoff/pickup?
I installed the beta version into my ongoing gameplay with 1500 cycles and 4 planets, and the difference is striking. Initially, the game experienced a significant drop in FPS after an hour, but after the update, the gameplay remains smooth even after several hours. The improvements are quite remarkable!
Seems like some minor but needed improvements, I'm still disappointed in the blueprint drop rate, it will take forever to get a a good portion of them and the selling of them for the low amount of bucks seems like punishment, sort of :). Thanks for the quick video.
It's baffling to this day that they still didn't add a drag type tool tool that could easily allow you to switch a material the building or a pipe is made out of instead of clicking every section 1 by 1....
The critter drop and pick up are finaly here, its even better than just the option, finaly, it was such a PAIN. EDIT 1000Kg Reservoir is now my final breath, i can play this game until end of times
Still want the original critter drop off, maybe as a higher tier research just to save a bit of space in the farm. I get the pick-up/drop-off ones for pufts, but most critters just do not need it to be seperate in their choose ranch.
Rightclick on Oxygen not included in steam, go to settings, go to betas, select current beta. One of the last update videos has a quick video clip at the end. I guess it was the last QOL video before full release
Awesome stuff, too bad it only got to the game today, I had a LOT of deconstructing done last week and I'm 100% sure the change material wasn't there yet
Yes actually! Didn't expect that so i checked. The both have an automation input that is supposedly able to SEND a green or red signal. I see the flaw here. I guess they swithed in and output so at the moment not helpful yet but it will be.
@@Luma_plays Ah, yes an input signal to turn it on/off would be extremely useful. An output signal, not so much, so hope it is just swapped as you say. Wouldn't mind it having both though, if it meant that it can signal when over/under a certain amount of a selected critter. I can see some uses for that in breeding rooms and pufts. Although I would much rather have that functionality on the critter sensor as it would be easier to place and would make more sense.
the reservoir limits are still an absolute joke. i use a mod that makes both 99,000 kg and i still have reservoirs lined up.... they really need to address storage levels across the board imo. every end game player is basically forced to use unlimited storage for all 3 types of materials... you could literally have tens of thousands of tons of just ONE material and the storage max in vanilla is 20k...... lol
....HMMMPHH....ACTUALLY THERE *_IS_* A HOPE ABOUT GAME PERFORMANCE WILL HIT BETTER...........AND NOT ABOUT EVERYONE TO USE FAST TRACK MOD, SO IT WONT BE NEEDED OR IT'LL IMPROVE PERFORMANCE EVEN MORE .........BY THE WAY.........ABOUT HAVE U TRIED ABOUT HOW LESS LAGS HAS BECOME ABOUT SHINE BUG REACTOR, THO??

Yeah it's like that with ONI

The change for changing out the item material it's build from is the best! I've been looking for mods doing this for ages now.
This will save me so much frustration.
I'm looking forward most to the optimizations, far more than any of the actual game features.

And besides the lag death that is totally fine. :) I also only finished the game a couple times cause i like coming up with setups the most.

There are some exploits allowing you to do similar things though.
