@@Luma_plays the bed can be "communal" I play with cots just Sprayed all over the map and unassigned cots littered at places. if theres a Dupe without a bed they will just take it
@@mysteryguitarhaziq The Beds are still assigned only. What you are seeing is the beds being assigned automatically when there is a dupe that needs one. Once a dupe takes a bed, they use the same one every night until re-assigned. With communal buildings they can change which one they use every time they use one.
@@Luma_plays Indeed. To take adventage of the schedule feature, Klei could implement a way to have multiple dupes assigned to one cot and mess table. This would save space in the colony through the whole game.
There are buffs that last multiple days but take fairly long chunks of downtime to get, like the hot tub or sauna with three days of frost-proof. Having multiple days of schedule means that you only need to give them one day with that many chunks of downtime (plus eating) per three days and less on other days so it's less "wasted productivity".
"lock contention" does not refer to the doors. It actually refers to something in programming. Basically, when you have two different threads accessing the same object, one of them will "lock" the object before doing stuff with it and "unlock" it after. This is to eliminate race condition. When they say that they have improved this, that means locking objects will be faster in code, which increases the speed of the pathfinding.
So, the Fluid Shipping mod has now joined the ranks of the ascended mods, like Pliers. As someone who was using it already, this brings me satisfaction. Upgrading to plumbed bathrooms in the early game is now that much more convenient in vanilla. No more building long power wires and pipe runs to the bottom of your water tank before you've even switched off manual generators, just to run it for less than 20 seconds.
I can FINALLY ranch Spigot seels without needing to awkwardly shove a Bonbon tree farm in there, i can just feed them off of excess Sweetle dung while keeping all of that sweet sweet nectar for plastic production. I'm really happe about the regal bamooth! I always hoped for critter morphs for the smaller DLC as well, we only have 3 new critters to play with but morphs add a LOT of new possibilities, I hope we get at least one of each
This is one of the things that will be affected, yes. Another interesting effect is that infinite storages are a bit harder to break now; a vent submerged in a single tile of a liquid won't necessarily cause mass deletion, so long as the gas/liquid can displace to an adjacent tile of the same element under the new more permissive rules.
That's nice, Tons of gas bottles end up at the base entrance somehow, and unbottling them would pop everyone's ears, so being able to introduce the oxygen through a normal vent helps. I also like how these new changes help a bit of space, playing spaced out, space comes at a premium.
glad this game shows up in my recommendation every once in a while to remind me to grind it for real. Hopefully in a few years when i actually have time. Sick game
You could assign toilets before & has been for a bit, I am still not sure why you would. Not like the dupes care about sharing potties, maybe if you had mini bases for different things where dupes are supposed to stay (door priorities though).
It sounds like the sublimation deletion 'fix' was meant to fix (break?) Some liquid locks that are tiny drops of water, oil, or etc, by moving the sublimating to another tile rather than deleting the tile of fluid it is on top of.
The new schedule mechanics can be great for dupes that work extra hard (if you use yellow alert a lot). Now they can sleep and eat 4 times every 3 days, so it won't be so bad if they miss lunch or bedtime due to an emergency
Also, in the base game, gold amalgam was renewable in small amounts from meteor showers, but the frosty DLC makes the meteor showers just give ice and bonbon seeds. So the new bammoth morph allows you to get gold again without the meteors.
Nice to see that this game isbn't abandoned after so many years. I used to base my entire pipeworks and workflows on bottlers added through mods. IF only they could implement some sort of a draggable toool to en masse change everything within range to a certain material...
