I hate it when people say 'buried' with the Wii U. It's a Wii U game, and the Wii U should get credit for it's own games. Plus the Switch always overprices games that aren't brand new anyway.

As much as I love that this game is getting a real chance to be played by more people that aren't die hard Nintendo fans, the fact that it's being charged at 60 bucks when the Wii U version was 50 is unacceptable. Captain Toad is still gonna be a 40 dollar game so what's with the penny pinching here?

If you played it on WiiU, there's no need for you to play it again. If, like most people, you never owned a WiiU, then it's practically a new game for you anyway :P The content within the game is fully worth the price

$60 for a game that came out 4 years ago. Great game and I love DKC and I beat it in 2 weeks when I got it on Wii U. But charging $60 is not cool.

Meme Meat - You never played DKC 1-3 on the SNES nor DK 64 on the N64?? Where have you been!
Personally you can just play DKC Returns on Wii/3ds (3ds version is better iirc) and Tropical Freeze. Both are great games, but Tropical Freeze is much better than Returns for me. The original trilogy? Hardly played them. As much as I wanted to like them, the "camera" is way too close to DK, which means you often can't see what's ahead of you. Enemies or obstacles can pop up and kill you faster than you can react if you go any faster than a casual saunter. Minecart levels in those games are a terrible chore of trial, error, and memorization because, once again, you probably won't be able to react to obstacles, and you definitely can't react to enemy minecarts that move toward you. If you're a masochist, then I'm sure you'll love it. In fact, if you had a wider range of view in those games, they'd probably be really great. Sadly, the original DKC trilogy is super duper overrated.
Don't even get me started on DK 64.

Rewatching this, This was really fun to 200%. Gives me nostalgia.
I still think that none of these Tropical Freeze commercials (both on Switch and Wii U) do the actual game justice.
Serpoo the gameplay shown in this has great moments, but the narrator and script don't sell the game very well. Just glad more people get to play this though.

Hey, I never said it was a bad idea. I think it's great for accessibility. I actually have friends who didn't beat this game because of the difficulty (scrubs ellemayoh). I just don't think it's a particularly outstanding idea. It's just an easy mode.

My favorite DKC game, got it on the WiiU, would totally get it on Switch if I had one. So many good memories attached to this game. But the visuals and soundtrack take the cake. This game is Beautiful on so many levels. And those saying this game is too hard? Its not. Its challenging, it makes you learn new tricks. You cant just Mario your way through this.

Kaze Productions you'll love this. Tropical Freeze, as opposed to the "classic" DK games, actually gives you a wide enough range of view to see where you're going and react to obstacles! Yay!

They should make a brand new Donkey Kong game instead with Swanky Kong, Wrinkly Kong, Manky Kong, King K. Rool, the Kremblings, Klobbers, Tiny Kong, Snide, Lanky Kong, Candy Kong, and Funky Kong as playable characters. They should also bring back the colorful bananas from DK64. They should also bring back Squawks, Squitter, Ellie, and Enguarde as playable characters too (just like in the old DKC games).

Let me the guess. The defenders are gonna defend the price and minimal additions of this port by saying "It didn't sell that well on Wii U". Am I correct? Are we really still using the "It was on Wii U" excuse to defend Nintendo's decisions with ports? Or are we gonna use the portable excuse?
The reason why they're porting them is because of them not selling well. I won't be defending the price, but I will defend Nintendo's intentions for making Wii U ports on Switch. This game looks completely obvious that it is catering to Wii U skippers that have a Switch, unlike something like MK8D or the new Hyrule Warriors port where they add enough new stuff for them to appeal to both Wii U skippers and Wii U owners.
