It was fun to watch all of it :)
I also hate anki, but i cant neglect the HUGE boosts i feel when using it. My comprehension skyrockets

Tenk u tenk u. I've come to tolerate it more recently as I've realized the GAINS I see from it personally 😂. A necessary evil perhaps

I really had a blackout moment during the reading section, it was really difficult.
20 cards is a lot, I did only around 10 for the longest time now I think 😅
Shifting the focus back on having fun is something I have to do as well now

Back to fun indeed, we can't change the test results now :(. Yeah, 20 is plenty, so we'll see how it goes!

Congrats on doing the exam. Let’s see how it goes!
    Optimizing for
Enjoyment I believe is key for anything but anki is a necessary piece of the puzzle.
People in the immersion community talk about it like a supplement but fuck that, it is the diet. (For quite a long time at least because it is the most efficient way to learn vocab)
If you look at any success story about N1 in 8-15-24 months it is always people that do 20+ cards.
Still I believe enjoyment is key so if 10 cards is what one can do consistently, then that will ne enough.
10/day = 3560 cards and that is great.

Thank you! Waiting to see how the results came, so will be in the hole for that. Enjoyment is a major piece of the puzzle because stopping out of boredom is enemy #1. However, I also do agree that in almost all cases I've seen where people learn relatively quickly, a common component is Anki. There's gotta be something to it 😂. Definitely shouldn't overdo it as I would relate it as a core supplement, but without it, your gains are gonna take quite a bit longer

@@Jarods_Journey let's get it. I'm trying the 200 cards a day but not every day and """only""" 40.
This is my fourth day with 2 days with 20 and 2 with 40. I wish I could do 40 but today 60 review + 20 new words took 60' so I'm gonna chill for a few days and push again in a few days.

@@MuEnViFitness ayee well keep up the grind. If you find yourself staring at cards for too long, I always find it better to fail them quickly and get back to them after other cards. Could make the reviews quicker! 🥂

Thanks for sharing your language learning journey and tools you used, sorry that it seems you didn't quite hit your JLPT goal. I actually came across your channel first for the RVC/TTS stuff and was delightfully surprised to find you also had some JP content.

Never did reach it, but hope to get it some day

When I read novels you're not making sure you're understanding what's been writing I think.
Plus you can be skipping important grammar during your reading cause you didn't went through jlpt grammar lists. You could be noticing more, acquiring more and comprehending more.

It's correct that I don't force myself to understand everything, but I do focus on trying my best to comprehend everything (a small nuance, but it's important). Say, for example, I go through a sentence and I can comprehend it. I can mentally acknowledge what has happened, but I may not understand everything.
What instead I focus on is the amount I can comprehend about the content. I may not have a firm understanding of the grammar used, but I can comprehend it. This nuance is what makes test taking different, you have to generally select between multiple ok choices and one "most appropriate" one.
My reasoning for not studying grammar lists is mainly personal, but also anecdotal as I've come across many who don't study grammar but can begin to understand what and where they're used. I believe that by coming across grammar in content, it's much more beneficial than out of context examples. I do look up grammar as I go and this is my favorite way of approaching it.
