Longbow Willbender with endless teleports due to the full Willbender toolkit is so much fun. It gives you range, endless F1 teleports in big mobs, and I never am being damaged because I am always teleporting out of aoe and direct attacks. Willbender heal skill also encourages risky gameplay, which makes the whole playstyle the most fun I've had in any game on any class.
Love the new player guide. Especially as a returning player who wants to go into the depths of the classes I really appreciate your content man. Keep it up and maybe think about a New players guide for the ranger, would personally love it.
You timed this PERFECTLY, just for me, didnt you? :) Last weekend i levelled my 2nd main (or first true alt), and i chose Guardian I spent the last day or 2 scratching my head and wondering where to put my first 250 HP, and thanks to you I now know the order i will learn the Elites in - Firebrand, Dragon-Hunter and Willbender Thank you so much for this breakdown and simple explanation This worked so much better than other videos and Guild opinions i have gotten which were really just people saying what they liked the most and why, though they all meant well of course, it just became one big confusing noise It didnt help that my focus is ALWAYS to enjoy and have fun, not to have the best DPS, or the best Support/HPS, my first and foremost goal is to have fun in open world, after this i can focus and fine tune for more helpful support and/or derpage So thanks again, really helpful, honestly you may not ever know jst how much this short video helped
You've probably already made the choice, but Willbender is by far the most fun Open World e-spec for me. You can run full Celestial stats with a ton of different variations between specs and ability.
@@DjNaste I did make a decision, the decision to get all 3 unlocked before commiting to any particular I tried Firebrand first, and tbh its fine, but i get all confused when using my tomes and my abilities change, if i wanted 20 abilities id play Elementalist But with pretty much ignoring tomes i still found it good enough to earn 500 more HPs (and i didnt join a train/group - if i cant earn them myself i dont deserve to have them) Then i tried Dragonhunter and i really liked this, but it felt lacking somewhere, perhaps my weapon choices Which left Willbender, i had high hopes for this, got a Celestial OW build from GuildJen (who i use and trust a lot) IDK what i was doing wrong, but i got killed, over and over, to mobs that were barely a threat to me with the other 2 builds So i stuck with Dragonhunter, made a few tweaks, tried a few other weapons, and im loving it I wont ignore the other Elites forever, but for now im sticking with this Appreciate your comment ❤
@@isty4491 Glad you found something to enjoy. I just looked up the build and it personally doesn't make any sense to me, there are much better Willbender builds. If you ever feel like giving Willbender another chance, I'd happily help you with a build that is a lot more functional.

My 5 cents for this excellent guide. For non-ranked PvP one can try core-mixed (strike+condi) guardian with sword and torch. With Purging Flames up to 18K+ damage, this is absolutely hilarious build. I can provide more details if anyone is interested.
Great video! I was hoping I will be leveling Guardian with Axe and Torch but unfortunately weaponmastery is restricted to lvl 80 characters only. "Beyond requiring at least one level 80 character to unlock the feature via the story, it's also level-restricted and can't be used on characters below level 80."
Hey hey! I got a lil tip for you. If you are below the level requirement for a weapon mastery switch to the weapon in the pvp lobby and then leave. Should still be equipped :)
Do you think it’s a dps loss not to equip an elite spec? I enjoy zeal virtue and radiance build with the resets on the virtue of courage. Just wondering thanks
Core Gaurdian is strong but elite just gives it a little bit more. My feeling is try the elites and if you want to stick with core then do so! Core is definitely fun to play. I play a Celestial Firebrand and love it!
„Deflects all incoming ranged attacks”. Not true at all, it only blocks projectiles. Ranger staff auto, necro axe and scepter, revenant hammer 2, mesmer scepter 3, ele fire scepter auto and many more attacks will not get blocked. Funnily enough it should block thief’s shortbow 5
Dh’s Shield of courage blocks all attacks in front of the player, not just projectiles. You really should do your research better when making guides, because for real, you have the worst ones I’ve seen
wanted to dive in this game with all those great videos. but OMG to much pay for conveniance. This game gonna dry you poor. You can spend thousands ( not even including cosmetic). The most expansive MMO ever.
When you have more experience with the game and find many ways to make golds (Fractals, Raid, meta train), you will never have to spend any money into the game anymore. Just consider your initial money as a form of investment.
The most Expansive? Yes, but the most Expensive? Not by a longshot... You get the entire core game up to level 80 cap FOR FREE!!!!!!!!! No other MMO does that, then you can EARN gold in game, CONVERT it to gems to buy the EXPANSION, FOR FREE!!!!!! NO SUBSCRIPTION!!!!
Plenty of ways to make gold, and then convert gold to gems. Living World Season 4 has one of the best metas, dragonfall. You could convert gold to gems and get It all for free (minus your time).
That was concise, informative and immensely helpful! Thank you so very much.

Having one character with 80 ticket given, but had no clue what to do with the guardian. Now I am hyped!

I feel like inherently the elites have an edge dps and effect wise unfortunately.
There are Core Hybrid builds that work very well. They use the Elite Passives but Core only Skills. Depends on the class and use case.
To use pistols thats way later right?
I main Willbender in wvw and man I can 1v3 sometimes it’s crazy
can guardians use pistols with the new expansion?
Later in the new year yes it will be available
